VICTOR
Father Christmas Needs Help!
Winter has come.
It's snowed all night and Victor and Tim have decided to play outside in the snow.
"Don't forget your scarf and your bonnet Tim," advises Victor, "it's very cold outside."
Tim is ready and raring to go.
He opens the door and snowflakes rush inside.
"I want to make a snowman," he says happily.
Tim dashes outside, jumping for joy.
Without wasting any time, the two friends start their snowman.
While Victor is making a big snowball, Tim makes a small one.
"My snowball will be the head, don't you think Victor?"
Tim asks while rolling his ball.
A few minutes later, their snowman is ready. They just need to fit a nice carrot for the nose. As usual, Tim has already gone off to do something else.
He takes his sledge to slide down the slope.
"Victor! Look how fast I'm going!
Come with me, it's so much fun!"
Tim has not noticed that, at this precise moment, a sleigh pulled by a reindeer is arriving at full speed!
Too late!
The poor reindeer jumps, trying to avoid Tim but then crashes into Victor and Tim's snowman.
Victor is very worried as the sleigh is over-turned, and rushes to help.
What a surprise when he realises that this is Father Christmas' sleigh!
He is lying flat in the snow, right in the middle of the scattered presents.
Father Christmas is a bit dazed and Victor helps him to stand up.
Tim also rushes to straighten the sleigh.
"Phew!" sighs Father Christmas, "that was scary! I'm sorry I knocked your snowman over. I was in a hurry because I still have a lot of presents to deliver."
Victor and Tim make a point in putting all the presents back in place.
When his bag is full, Father Christmas exclaims: "Where's Rudolf now?
After this shock, I completely forgot to look after him!"
Indeed, Rudolf has vanished!
"He was maybe so scared that he's gone to hide somewhere," wonders Father Christmas.
"Look," shouts Victor, "he's left tracks in the snow, we just have to follow them."
Tim thinks that's really clever of Victor. Straight away, they follow Rudolf's tracks in the snow.
Soon, Victor finds Rudolf hidden behind some firs. He looks terrified.
"Come on Rudolf, don't be scared," says Victor, reassuring,
"we're not at all angry about our snowman. Come with us, you'll pull Father Christmas' sleigh again."
Relieved and happy that no one is angry with him, Rudolf gladly follows Victor and Tim.
As for Father Christmas, he is really happy to get Rudolf back and to be able to continue his rounds.
But when Father Christmas gets back on his sleigh, Victor notices that his arm was hurt in the fall.
"You're injured, Father Christmas, you have to have it looked at!"
"I'll be okay," says Father Christmas,
"I have so much work!"
"No, no, this is out of question!" retorts Victor.
"You come with me to Victoria's and she'll take care of your arm."
No sooner said than done, Victoria takes good care of Father Christmas' arm.
"There you go! With this bandage and a little bit of cream, it will be less painful,"
she says.
"Thank you Victoria," replies Father Christmas, "it's already better.
I have to get back to work now."
But Victoria doesn't see it that way!
"Your arm needs to rest, Father Christmas, otherwise you won't be able to finish your round. Why don't Victor and Tim help you?" she offers.
Our friends don't hesitate a second! It is so much fun to sit in the sleigh with Father Christmas!
"Wow, wow," shouts Father Christmas, and Rudolf quickly starts running.
Victor and Tim have a great ride, Rudolf is running so fast!
"Ho, ho, ho," shouts Father Christmas, and the sleigh stops.
"We must drop off our first presents here," says Father Christmas looking at his list. "The children who live in this house have been really good, we mustn't forget them!"
"Here is the first present Tim.
Could you drop it down the chimney?' asks Father Christmas?"
Our friends start straight away.
Victor helps Tim climb onto the roof.
"Be careful Tim, the roof is very slippery," warns Victor.
"I am glad you are so efficient," sighs Father Christmas, "I wouldn't have been able to climb onto the roofs with my arm."
Once Tim is on the roof, Victor gives him the presents and Tim drops them down the chimney.
He is so proud to help Father Christmas. Just thinking of the children's happiness when they'll find their presents, brings a smile to his face…
It's getting late but Tim and Victor continue to work hard.
All the presents have been dispatched one chimney after the other until Victor realises that the bag is totally empty.
"Indeed," says Father Christmas, checking his list, "it was the last house and you've done so well!"
Rudolf and Father Christmas bring Tim and Victor home. In the meantime, night has settled.
"Thank you so much my friends, you really helped me a lot. Thanks to you, all the presents have been delivered in time."
Now Father Christmas has to leave.
Tim and Victor wave at him from the front door.
"Come on Tim," says Victor, "it's time to go to bed. We're going to sleep tight after such a hard day's work!"
