Chicken Little was out walking on a clear, fine day when, BONK! Something unexpected fell on his head. He was so afraid, his feathers trembled.
"Oh no!" he said aloud. "No one is safe. The sky is falling! The sky is falling! I must go tell the king!"
Chicken Little saw Hungry Hen. "The sky is falling! The sky is falling! I must go tell the king!" he said.
"Are you certain the sky is falling?" asked Hungry Hen.
"Oh yes," said Chicken Little. "It bonked me on the head."
"How frightening!" said Hungry Hen. "I'll gobble up my snack and come with you."
Chicken Little and Hungry Hen came upon Gabby Goose and her goslings. Chicken Little said, "The sky is falling! The sky is falling! We must go tell the king!"
"Is the sky really falling?" asked Gabby Goose. "It looks fine to me."
"Oh yes," said Chicken Little. "It bonked me on the head."
"Oh dear!" said Gabby Goose. "The goslings and I will come with you."
On their way, the group met Dandy Duck. Chicken Little said, "The sky is falling! The sky is falling! We must go tell the king!"
"But my pond seems safe and sound," said Dandy Duck. "Are you sure the sky is falling?"
"Oh yes," said Chicken Little. "It bonked me on the head."
"This is no quacking matter. I'll come with you," quacked Dandy Duck.
Everyone was nervous. They kept looking up at the sky. Soon they saw Tall Turkey.
Chicken Little said, "The sky is falling! The sky is falling! We must go tell the king!"
"That is troubling news, indeed," said Tall Turkey. "But how do you know the sky is falling?"
"It bonked me on the head," said Chicken Little.
"No need for me to see it to believe it," said Tall Turkey. "I'll come with you."
Chicken Little, Hungry Hen, Gabby Goose, Dandy Duck, and Tall Turkey finally reached the king.
Chicken Little said, "The kingdom is not safe. The sky is falling! The sky is falling! It bonked me on the head."
"I think I can explain," said the king. "Were you by any chance standing under an oak tree when the sky began to fall?"
"Yes," said Chicken Little. "How did you know?"
The king picked an acorn off of Chicken Little's feathery head and said, "I assure you that the kingdom is safe, my silly friend!"
