Everyone has neighbours, and everyone needs neighbours. We all
want to have nice neighbours. It is important to live with some nice
neighbours. We feel happy to live with them. Of course, sometimes we
need to be alone; we don't always need people around us. But we may
feel lonely if we never have nice neighbours.
All people are not the same. Neighbours sometimes don't get on
well(相处融洽). It doesn't mean that they don't like each other. Most
of the time they will become nice neighbours again. Sometimes old
14
neighbours move away. Then we feel very sad and we miss them very
much, but we can call and write to them. And we may have new good
neighbours. It's surprising to find out how much we like new neighbours
when we get to know them.
Good neighbours are helpful. A good neighbour would like to help
us when we need him or her. For example, if we are not at home, our
good neighbours will watch our houses for us. If we are sick, he or she
will send us to the hospital.
There is more good news for people who have nice neighbours.
They live longer than people who don't have any nice neighbours. Why?
Because they are happier. Being happy helps you feel good. I think we
all should learn to be good neighbours.
