Chloe
invited
me
to
her
birthday
party,
but
something
different
happened
to
me.
After
dinner,
“Its
scary
movie
time!”
Chloe
said
1 .
“You
are
kidding,
right?
Watching
scary
things
right
before
bed,
I
cant
2
the
whole
night,”
I
said.
“Come
on.
Its
my
birthday
wish.
At
least
try
to
watch
it,
even
for
a
couple
of
3 ,”
said
Chloe.
Then
I
4 .
We
sat
in
the
sofa
and
started
watching
the
movie.
A
few
minutes
later,
the
monsters
(怪兽)
started
shouting
5
everybody
in
the
movie.
Both
of
us
jumped
up
and
screamed!
“Is
it
OK
if
I
hang
out
in
your
room
until
the
movie
is
over?
Maybe
you
can
just
tell
me
6
happened
later,”
I
said.
Chloe
was
fine
with
my
advice.
So
everything
worked
out
great—until
it
didnt.
Chloe
might
have
fun
being
scared
during
the
movie,
7
it
wasnt
so
much
fun
later.
“Can
8
turn
the
light
on?”
Chloe
said
at
bedtime,
“I
keep
thinking
there
are
terrible
monsters
under
my
bed.
Theres
no
way
Im
going
to
close
my
9
tonight. ”
I
was
very
10
that
I
just
watched
a
couple
of
minutes
of
the
movie
because
I
was
brave
to
refuse
what
I
really
didnt
like.

选择型阅读理解
You
may
receive
lots
of
gifts
on
your
birthday.
But
have
you
ever
thought
about
giving
your
birthday
gifts
to
people
in
need?
Kyle
Breeden,
a
12-year-old
boy
from
Maryland,
has
done
that
ever
since
he
was
six
years
old.
On
November
19th
every
year,
Kyle
invites
his
friends
to
his
birthday
celebration.
He
asks
each
friend
to
bring
a
new
toy
to
donate
to
Toys
for
Tots.
Toys
for
Tots
is
a
project
which
gives
out
toys
to
children
whose
parents
cannot
usually
buy
them
toys.
Kyle
has
donated
more
than
2,000
toys
to
the
project.
And
he
plans
to
continue
collecting
toys
for
other
kids
for
years
to
come.
When
Kyle
was
five,
he
asked
his
parents
how
he
could
help
others.
Kyles
parents
were
excited
to
hear
that
and
they
helped
him
get
in
touch
with
Toys
for
Tots.
From
then
on,
he
has
looked
forward
to
his
birthday,
but
only
to
get
toys.
Then
he
collects
the
toys
and
goes
to
the
Toys
for
Tots
celebrations
to
donate
them.
John
Minadakis,
who
hosted
a
Toys
for
Tots
celebration,
said
he
had
never
seen
someone
give
so
much
at
such
a
young
age.
He
believed
the
ability
to
put
others
before
himself
could
take
the
boy
far
in
life.

Sometimes
you
just
need
to
have
a
great
party!
Theres
nothing
like
hosting
and
seeing
all
your
friends
together
in
the
same
place.
1.
Here
are
some
ways.
◆Decide
on
a
theme.
2.
Write
down
different
fun
activities,
types
of
music,
and
others
that
help
you
think
of
possible
themes.
Or
dont
have
a
theme
at
all.
◆Pick
a
place
for
your
party.
Where
are
you
going
to
have
a
party?
Could
you
have
it
at
your
house
or
a
friends
house?
Did
you
have
a
place
in
mind,
like
a
restaurant,
movie
theater,
or
park?
3.
◆4.
If
its
a
birthday
party,
most
people
try
to
have
the
party
on
that
day.
Or,
any
weekend,
evening
or
night
is
best,
so
you
and
your
guests
dont
have
school
or
work
the
next
morning.
Most
parties
are
after
dinner,
but
a
brunch
or
afternoon
party
works,
too.
◆Plan
your
guest
list.
This
will
be
partly
decided
by
where
you
are
having
the
party.
Make
sure
that
place
is
large
enough.
5.
That
could
seriously
change
how
many
hands
you
have
to
plan
for
and
mouths
you
have
to
feed.
A.
But
how
do
you
do
it?
B.
But
why
do
you
do
it?
C.
Decide
on
the
time
for
your
party.
D.
Make
sure
the
place
is
suitable
for
the
activities.
E.
You
can
also
ask
your
teachers
or
classmates
for
help.
F.
Try
to
come
up
with
a
theme
that
might
get
everyone
excited.
G.
You
should
also
think
about
whether
you
want
your
friends
to
bring
friends
or
not.

The

He
