A. /; a B. the; a C. the; / D. a; a
“the + 形容词”表示一类人,“the poor”表示“穷人”;“What a shame it is!”
2. Luna has ________ in bed for two hours after ________ the book on the desk next to her bed.
A. lied, lying B. lay, lain C. laid, lying D. lain, laying
3. Yangzhou China Grand Canal Museum ________ for about three years, but I ________ there.
A. has opened; haven’t gone B. has been open; haven’t been
C. has been open; haven’t gone to D. has opened; haven’t been to

根据“for about three years”可知,空一处是现在完成时,且动词为延续性动词,open是短暂性动词,其延续性动词为be open,排除A、D选项;空二处表示没有去过那里,用haven’t been to,there是副词,to要省略。故选B。
4. Parents’ love is like the wind. ______ you can see it or not, it is always around you.
A. Whether B. If C. Though D. And
【答案】A

5. —Do you know if he ________ the job offer?
—Unless he ________ a higher salary, I am sure he won’t.

根据“Do you know if he … the job offer?”
6. — Of all the runners, Tom ran __________ and was the first to cross the finishing line.
— Yeah. No one in our school can run __________ than him!
A. quick; faster B. fast; quicker

根据“Of all the runners”可知,三者以上的比较要用最高级,所以第一空填fastest。

A. whom B. who C. which D. whose

根据“She is on a study tour in Leshan ”可知,Alice在乐山不在此处,因此那个女生“不可能是她”,故选C。

A. other B. the other C. else D. another

After people finish eating fruits, they often throw away the nut (核) inside. But some artists do something different—they collect these nuts and turn them into beautiful art.
“One nut, from 0.8 to 6 centimeters, can be made into beautiful earrings and other artworks,” said Tan Wanhai, the top artist of Weifang nut carving (核雕).
The history of nut carving might start from the Qing Dynasty (1636-1912). During that time, Wang Dayan, the best artist in the Palace Museum, taught people in Shandong Province how to carve nuts. This art of nut carving is so special that the government listed Weifang nut carving as a national intangible cultural heritage (国家级非物质文化遗产) in 2008.
“It’s hard to bring this kind of traditional art to life, so I spent many years working on it.” said Tan, the 48-year-old artist. “Every nut looks different,” Tan added. Artists look at nuts carefully to make them into art. Also, they learn old ways of painting and writing skills to make their work really nice. “In order to show folk (民间的) stories from ancient times, I need to read many books to enrich myself.”
“Artists in the past have been wise enough to turn common things into beautiful things. Recently, thanks to the creative ideas of artists in Weifang, more people in China are starting to like nut carvings,” Tan said. “They make new ways to carve and make sure the art keeps going for future artists.”

In the wild, wolves (狼) with broken legs often face an unlucky fate (命运), waiting for death. Yet, in the Hoh Xil National Nature Reserve (可可西里国家自然保护区) in Qinghai, one such wolf had a different fate. It grew from a poor, thin wolf to a fat, happy one because tourists in the area often fed it.
This “act of kindness” led people to ask: Should tourists feed the wolf? Supporters argue that without feeding, the wolf would die because it couldn’t get food by itself. But those who do not agree with the idea believe that humans should not mess with the natural order. Science, however, provides us with an answer.
Research published in Scientific Reports in June 2019 studied how human feeding affected (影响) the lives of bottle-nose dolphins (宽吻海豚) near Bunbury, Australia. Dolphins there can sometimes get food from the Dolphin Discovery Centre. After studying more than 10 years of data, the scientists found that dolphins looking for food from boats had a higher risk of death than those who found food themselves. This is because they may get hit by boats or caught by fishing nets.
Feeding wild animals may lead them to depend on humans for food, a warning from Dai Qiang, a scientist at the Chengdu Institute of Biology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. What’s more, sick animals may bring illnesses to people who feed them.
So, if we happen to see a wild animal that seems to need our help, what should we do? Qi Xinzhang, deputy director of Xining Wildlife Park, said that it’s best to report the animal to the authorities (相关部门) instead of just feeding it.
41. What happened to the wolf in the nature reserve?

C. It became someone’s pet. D. It grew fat and healthy.
42. What does the underlined phrase“mess with”mean in Paragraph 2?

43. How does human feeding affect bottle-nose dolphins?
A Dolphins become more friendly to humans.
B. Dolphins start to know the dangers from humans.
C. The dolphins fed by humans die more easily.
D. More dolphins choose to find food by themselves.
44. What problem might humans face if they feed wild animals?
A. They will get warnings. B. They may get sick.
C. The animals may get sick. D. The animals will never depend on themselves.
45. What final answer does the story suggest?
A. Take care of wild animals by ourselves. B. Leave the wild animals to die.
C. Don’t feed wild animals by ourselves. D. It is correct to feed wild animals.
D 42. A 43. C 44. B 45. C
根据“It grew from a poor, thin wolf to a fat, happy one because tourists in the area often fed it.”
根据“Supporters argue that without feeding, the wolf would die because it couldn’t get food by itself. But those who do not agree with the idea believe that humans should not mess with the natural order.” 故选A。
根据“After studying more than 10 years of data, the scientists found that dolphins looking for food from boats had a higher risk of death than those who found food themselves. This is because they may get hit by boats or caught by fishing nets.”
根据“What’s more, sick animals may bring illnesses to people who feed them.”
根据“Feeding wild animals may lead them to depend on humans for food...What’s more, sick animals may bring illnesses to people who feed them.”以及 “Qi Xinzhang, deputy director of Xining Wildlife Park, said that it’s best to report the animal to the authorities (相关部门) instead of just feeding it.”

“In order to show folk (民间) stories from ancient times, I need to read many books to enrich myself.”
“Artists in the past have been wise enough to turn common things into beautiful things. Recently, thanks to the creative ideas of artists in Weifang, more people in China are starting to like nut carvings,” Tan said. “They make new ways to carve and make sure the art keeps going for future artists.”

Price for a kind act
A. It died in the end. B. Zoo workers saved it.

42. What does the underlined phrase“mess with”mean in Paragraph 2?
43. How does human feeding affect bottle-nose dolphins?
A. Dolphins become more friendly to humans.
A Take care of wild animals by ourselves. B. Leave the wild animals to die.
C. Don’t feed wild animals by ourselves. D. It is correct to feed wild animals.
