As we all know, health is very important in our life. I try my best to be a healthy teenager.
Firstly, I have healthy eating habits. I hardly eat junk food. To keep a balanced diet, I have different kinds of food such as fruit, vegetables and meat. Secondly, doing sports is another way for me to keep healthy. On school days, I do exercise like running and playing basketball. On weekends, I usually swim or play badminton with my family.
The main reason why I keep the habits is that they can help me keep fit. Staying healthy enables me to make good use of my time and enjoy my life. Let’s be healthy teenagers together!
39.例文:
Dear Tom,
I’m glad to hear from you. I’m very happy to know that you are coming to Beijing. In spring, it’s warm and windy. In summer, it’s hot. Winter is cold and dry, but the city is very beautiful after snow. The best time to visit Beijing is in autumn. Because the weather is usually cool and sunny.
There are many places of interest in Beijing, such as Tian’anmen Square, the Summer Palace, the Palace Museum and so on. If you come to Beijing, I suggest you must climb the Great Wall, because there is an old saying that “He who doesn’t reach the Great Wall is not a true man”. It’s a good idea to bring a camera because you’ll probably want to take a lot of pictures. Also, remember to buy a map, because you might get lost in the city. Of course, I can be your guide if you like. I hope this information is useful.
Yours,
Li Ming

One day, a group of very successful computer engineers got together to visit their teacher, an old university professor. Their conversation soon turned into complaints (抱怨) about stress in work and life.
After offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and different kinds of cups, some ordinary-looking, some expensive, some extremely beautiful and carefully made. He told them to help themselves with hot coffee.
When all the students had a cup of coffee in their hands, the professor said, “If you noticed, all the nice-looking expensive cups were taken up, the ordinary and cheap-looking ones were left behind.”
“It is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, which is the source (源头) of your problems and stress. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups. What’s worse, you were eyeing each other’s cups.”
“Now if life is coffee, then the jobs, money, and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain life, but the quality of life doesn’t change. Sometimes, by focusing only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee in it.”
So don’t let the cups drive you, enjoy the coffee instead.

“Keep your eyes on your own paper” is one of the rules that Mrs. Archer has taught us. It is a simple rule, but it’s not a rule everybody chooses to follow. This morning, I had an experience (经历) with a “rule breaker (违规者)” during an English exam. I felt somebody was watching me a little too closely. I turned my head quickly and saw James who sat right behind me. My eyes caught him and he said in a low voice, “I hope you studied for this test!” I gave him a smile, not sure whether he was joking or not, and returned to my test. This time I leaned (倾身) a little more closely towards my paper, “I can’t see!” James said.
“What am I going to do?” I thought to myself. Cheating (作弊) went against my will. I curled (蜷曲) my arm around my answers.
“He’s your friend, and what are friends for?”
“You know it’s wrong.”
I tapped (轻敲,轻拍) on the top of my desk, hoping for an easy way out of this matter. No easy answer came. I just knew I had to do what I felt was right, even if it made James mad. So I guarded (守卫) my paper so that he couldn’t see my answers.
When the exam ended, I stood there for a moment, searching for the right words to say to James. “Sorry, James, but you know me well enough to understand how I feel about cheating,” I said slowly and softly. “But maybe I could help you study before the next test.” “OK, Brian,” he smiled. “It might not be easy, but I’ll give it a try.”
I felt happy that my friendship with James hadn’t been destroyed (破坏). Mrs. Archer would be proud.
27.Who was the “rule breaker”?
A.Mrs. Archer. B.James. C.Brian. D.A boy on the left.
28.Which three actions had the same purpose (目的)?
①I gave him a smile.
②I leaned a little more closely towards my paper.
③I curled my arm around my answers.
④I tapped the top of my desk.
⑤I guarded my paper so that he couldn’t see my answers.
A.①②⑤ B.②④⑤ C.②③⑤ D.③④⑤
29.Why did the writer think Mrs. Archer would be proud?
A.Because he and James helped each other in the exam.
B.Because both he and James did very well in the exam.
C.Because he didn’t let James see his answers in the exam.
D.Because he followed the rule and kept friendship with James.
D
Maybe you are an average student. You probably think you will never be a top student. This is not so necessary, however. Anyone can become a better student if he or she does his or her best. Here are some tips to help you.
Plan your time carefully. When you plan your week, you should make a list of things that you have to do. After making this list, you should make a plan of your time. First, design your time for eating, sleeping, dressing, etc. Then, decide on a good, regular time for studying. Don’t forget to set aside enough time for entertainment(娱乐). A weekly plan may not solve all your problems, but it will force you to realize what is happening to your time.
Find a good place to study. Look around the house for a good study area. Keep this space, which may be a desk or simply a corner of your room, free of everything but study materials(资料). No games, radios, or televisions! When sitting down to study, pay enough attention to the subject.
Make good use of your time in class. Take advantage of class time to listen to everything the teachers say. Really listening in class means less work later. Be an active listener during your class. Avoid distraction. Listening carefully can help you take better notes, understand the material, and remember it at a later date.
Study regularly. When you get home from school, go over your notes. Review the important points that your teacher mentioned in class. If you know what your teacher is going to teach the next day, to read that material will become more meaningful, and you will remember it longer.
Develop a good attitude about tests. The purpose of a test is to show what you have learned about a subject. They help you remember your new knowledge. The world won’t end if you don’t pass a test, so don’t be too worried.
There are other methods that might help you with your study. You will probably discover many others after you have tried these.
30.In order to concentrate on your subjects, you should just keep ________on your desk.
A.everything B.a radio C.study materials D.a book
31.The underlined word “distraction” in the passage probably means “ ________”.
A.playing B.driving you mad
C.paying no attention D.changing your mind
32.If Kate tried all the ways in the passage for a long time, we can infer(推断)that ________.
A.she solves all her problems now
B.she asks her mother to put games in her study area
C.she goes to some after-school programs to review knowledge
D.she becomes less worried about tests
33.What does the passage mainly talk about?
A.How to become a top student. B.How to plan your time.
C.How to study English. D.How to take notes.

How do you spend your weekends? For many young people, they go to the cinema with friends, have dinner out, or go shopping. This was once the routine for Zhang Yiling, a 27-year-old girl from Shanghai. But three years ago, fresh out of university and starting her first job, Zhang recognized that her idea of “relaxing weekends” nearly turned into “spending money”. If she didn’t spend money on weekends, she wouldn’t know what relaxing activities to do. Because of this, Zhang began to look for other ways to enjoy weekend life, not just shopping.
To make a change, Zhang and 26 friends built up The Lifespark Group in 2022. They started a project called “Make Your Weekend a True Break” By doing surveys, they found many surprising ways to enjoy weekends, such as dancing and exercising in a park square, joining book clubs, watching movies at home, or even becoming a model for free photos.
Zhang herself also began to pay closer attention to the interesting things around her. She found that a flower shop near her home gave free lessons on weekends. She learned about how to pick fresh flowers and grow plants. “I take care of my plants and flowers every day. I enjoy looking at them growing strong. That makes me feel relaxed.”
“I hope that our project can make more people know what they really want and how to use money in the right way,” said Zhang Yiling. “Let’s go to the library to read about different lives we never experience and visit museums to learn about history or culture. We can also spend an afternoon looking through old pictures with our family.”
34.What did Zhang Yiling recognize three years ago?
35.When did Zhang and 26 friends build up The Lifespark Group?

B.Because both he and James did very well in the exam.
C.Because he didn’t let James see his answers in the exam.
D.Because he followed the rule and kept friendship with James.

32.If Kate tried all the ways in the passage for a long time, we can infer(推断)that ________.
A.she solves all her problems now
B.she asks her mother to put games in her study area
C.she goes to some after-school programs to review knowledge
D.she becomes less worried about tests
33.What does the passage mainly talk about?

“Keep your eyes on your own paper” is one of the rules that Mrs. Archer has taught us. It is a simple rule, but it’s not a rule everybody chooses to follow.

Dear Tom,
I’m glad to hear from you. I’m very happy to know that you are coming to Beijing. In spring, it’s warm and windy. In summer, it’s hot. Winter is cold and dry, but the city is very beautiful after snow. The best time to visit Beijing is in autumn. Because the weather is usually cool and sunny.
There are many places of interest in Beijing, such as Tian’anmen Square, the Summer Palace, the Palace Museum, and so on.
