Time Things Peter Benchley did Peter Benchley’s views on sharks Before 1975 After 1980 wrote a book which the film Jaws was based on dangerous and frightening animals fought to protect sharks and admitted that his book was wrong People were a danger to sharks. He admitted that his book was wrong about sharks’ behaviour. “Sharks don't target humans,” he said. Experts have proved that sharks do not see people as food, and they attack us by mistake.
