1. Where are the students in the photo?
2. What are they doing? Are they working hard?
3. Would you like to try this kind of work?
P49
The students in the photo are at a tea farm.
China is the first country in the world with records of tea. Tea has been grown and drunk for thousands of years and is still very popular around the world today. Tea plants are short bushes, as can be seen in the photo.
The students are picking tea leaves. They are working hard as it takes a long time to collect enough leaves.
The leaves are picked, then dried and processed further. There are several different types of tea, such as black and green, which often come from the same plant, but with a different production process.
I enjoy picking tea leaves because it brings me closer to nature and helps me relax. Tea culture is an important part of Chinese tradition. The hard work of picking tea leaves makes the tea taste better.
