Changing Yourself

Changing Yourself
After starting high school, I always felt stressed (感到有压力的) and used to (过去常常) play computer games to relax (放松). I got so addicted (上瘾的) that I played the games day and night. Playing was fun, but I felt even more tired after! It was seriously hurting/affecting (严重影响) my study and health and I almost went bananas (发疯)!
Then, I read an article (文章) that said, “Change the world by changing yourself.” I’ve had no idea (不知道) it could make such a difference (产生如此大的影响). I decided to take control of (控制) my life and find other ways to relax (放松).
Instead of being addicted to (沉迷于) computer games, I would do many other things, such as playing basketball or listening to music. I could still play computer games now and then (偶尔), but I am able to (能够) strike a good balance (维持平衡) between study and play.
The results (结果) have been amazing. I have not only quit (戒掉) my addiction (n. 瘾;入迷;嗜好) to computer games but also feel much stronger in my body and mind. Most importantly (更重要的是), I can now take control of (控制) my life and feel more positive (adj. 积极乐观的) and confident (自信的). I CAN change myself and have a fresh start (有一个崭新的开始;重新开始) in life!

Changing Yourself
Two years ago, I found it difficult to balance (v. 平衡) rest and schoolwork. I was often busy with (忙于) my study, so I hardly (几乎不) found enough time to have a rest. As a result (因此;作为结果), I often felt tired and stressed (感到有压力的). At last (最终), I fell ill (生病了) and had to stay in hospital for 3 weeks.
After I got better, I began to think about my problems (思考我的问题). I began to understand the importance of a healthy lifestyle (理解健康生活方式的重要性). Rather than (而不是) studying all the time, I started playing basketball and practiced (练习) it for an hour every day. Instead of (而不是) doing my homework all the time, I take (花费;利用)15 minutes to rest every two hours.
Right now (目前;现在), I feel like (感觉像) I have a fresh start. I didn’t fall behind (掉队), Instead (相反), I studied better than before.
