On January 28 2025, a special performance called YangBOT amazed audiences at the CCTV Spring Festival Gala, China’s most watched TV show. Directed by famous filmmaker Zhang Yimou, the show mixed traditional Chinese Yangko dance with modern robot technology.
In the performance, humanoid robots (robots shaped like humans) dressed in colorful costumes danced Yangko, a joyful folk dance from northern China often seen during festival. They spun handkerchiefs instantly and formed creative group pattern. These robots were developed by Unitree (宇树科技), a Chinese robotics company. This was not Unitree’s first success—in 2021, their robot cows named “Ben Ben” danced as backup for singer Andy Lou.
The robots learned dance moves through AI and used laser navigation to move safely on the uneven stage, their strong joints (like knees with 360 N·m power) helped them balance perfectly during fast steps. Zhang Yimou explained, “these dancer isn’t just for fun—it shows how technology can bring new life to traditions.”
Thanks to these innovations, the robots won the hearts of millions. On social media, topics like “Robots Yangko” trended quickly. Young viewer called it “cool” while older audiences loved its humor and festive spirit.

Sarah stood in front of the mirror (镜子). “It looks like a raincoat on me,” she said.
“Perhaps the blue,” said Mama, gently.
“Sure,” the shopkeeper said. But when he took the blue coat, there on the shelf behind all of the dark coats, hidden like a spring flower in winter darkness, there, as if by magic, was a pink coat.
“A pink coat!” Sarah cried. “I want the pink coat.”
“That coat is smaller than the other ones,” Papa said.
Sarah spoke up, “I’m small too. Papa, please let me try it on. Mama? Please?”
“It wouldn’t hurt to let her try it on,” Mama said.
Without a word, the shopkeeper took the coat from the shelf and held it for Sarah.
“Ohhh!” Sarah said. The coat was smooth and shiny inside like her sister Sylvia’s blouses. “Ahhh!”
Sarah stood very straight and looked in the mirror. She looked for a very long time. In the pink coat she looked like a spring flower.
“Sarah!” Mama said.
Sarah looked up. Mama was standing behind her. She was holding the brown coat.
“I’m afraid the pink coat will only fit one year,” Mama said, taking a step closer.
“And there’s no one to pass it on to,” said Papa.
And the shopkeeper said, “It’s wise to save money.”
Sarah backed away. No one was going to put her into a raincoat again. She wanted to be a flower.
“Sarah!” It was Papa. He came over to her. “You’re old enough to know that you can’t always have your own way,” he said seriously.
“Wise and true,” said the shopkeeper.
Sarah took off the pink coat, slowly.
“It is her colour, though,” Mama said.
“Ahh,” said the shopkeeper. “Anyone can see how the pink of the coat brings out the roses in her face.”
Papa looked thoughtful for a moment.
“We are lucky,” continued Mama, “that it is only one little coat for Sarah and not also new coats for Sylvia and Susan and Sally.”
Papa looked from the brown coat to the pink coat. “The cows will give milk soon enough,” he said. “And how can we let Sarah wear a brown coat when she looks like a flower in this one?”
“Papa!” Sarah cried, putting on the pink coat back, quickly. She threw her arms around Papa’s neck. “_____” she whispered.

A company based in California is well on its way to creating something magic. It uses only microbes (微生物), water, and elements (元素) found in the air to create non-animal meat and seafood.
The process is actually a lot like making yogurt (酸奶) or cheese. In the past, some researchers found that certain microbes could change CO2 into a protein (蛋白质) when mixed with water and energy and this is the technology that Air Protein uses. Once the protein is taken from the air, the company then tries to change its form and create proteins that copy the taste and look of animal proteins. The company mainly pays attention to the meat industry, but this technology can also be used for seafood and cheese.
It was seeing the bad influence of Hurricane Katrina that led Dr. Lisa Dyson, the founder of Air Protein, to begin thinking seriously about climate change and what she could do to reduce its effect. “Just viewing the terrible damage that even did and thinking about how climate scientists have been warning us that these weather events are going to become more serious, I wanted to be a part of the solution (解决方案),” she said. Dyson began to take an interest in the food industry because of the greenhouse gasses it produces. It is the meat industry that is responsible for (对……负责) that. Yet meat consumption (消耗量) is still growing all over the world.
Air Protein’s solution could help reduce that, because the process of making the meat uses CO2 already in the air. The energy the company uses is all renewable (可再生的) wind and solar power. And the new technology uses 1.5 million times less land and 15,000 times less water than the beef industry does. These are both resources that are badly needed to fight climate change.
As Dyson mentioned, there’s a bright future when we change how our food is made. More industries should learn from Air Protein and produce food in a way that isn’t harming the planet.
22.What’s the second paragraph mainly about?
A.The features of animal proteins. B.The difficulty in setting up Air Protein.
C.How Air Protein makes meat from the air. D.Why the man-made protein is healthy.
23.What encourages Dyson to start the new business?
A.Her wish to improve food safety. B.Her care for climate problems.
C.The slow growth of the meat industry. D.The increasing consumption of seafood.
24.What do we know about Air Protein’s new technology?
A.It becomes popular in the beef industry.
B.It makes the poor land suitable for farming.
C.It develops products with great medical value.
D.It brings an environmentally friendly production process.
25.What’s the writer’s attitude (态度) towards Air Protein’s solution?
A.Supportive. B.Uncertain. C.Worried. D.Doubtful.
【答案】22.C 23.B 24.D 25.A

23.细节理解题。根据第三段“It was seeing the bad influence of hurricane Katrina that led Dr. Lisa Dyson, the founder of Air Protein, to begin thinking seriously about climate change and what she could do to reduce its effect...I wanted to be a part of the solution (解决方案)”可知,Dyson是因为关注气候变化问题,希望为解决气候问题出一份力才开始这项新业务,故选B。
24.推理判断题。根据第四段“Air Protein’s solution could help reduce that, because the process of making the meat uses CO₂ already in the air. The energy the company uses is all renewable (可再生的) wind and solar power. And the new technology uses 1.5 million times less land and 15,000 times less water than the beef industry does.”可知,该技术利用空气中的二氧化碳,使用可再生能源,且比牛肉行业更少地使用土地和水,这说明它带来了一个对环境友好的生产过程,故选D。
25.观点态度题。根据最后一段“As Dyson mentioned, there’s a bright future when we change how our food is made. More industries should learn from Air Protein and produce food in a way that isn’t harming the planet.”可知,作者认为当改变食物生产方式会有光明未来,还建议更多行业向Air Protein学习,由此可推断作者对Air Protein的解决方案是支持的态度,故选A。

Now supermarkets of a certain size must donate unused food, 47 they will face a fine. There are other rules requiring schools to teach students about food sustainability (可持续性). They also ask 48 (company) to report the food waste data in their environmental reports. And restaurants should provide take-out bags.
“These laws make 49 a standard to reduce waste,” says Marie Mourad, a student in Paris who has 50 (write) several reports on French food waste. France is not the country 51 wastes the least food, but Frenchmen have become the most active because they want to be the example in Europe.
“Preventing supermarkets from throwing away food 52 (mean) a lot,” says Jonathan, a famous writer. “This step has influenced parts of the French food industry.”
It is 53 (everyone) duty to fight against food waste. Everyone should pay attention and take action.

故填that/which。

C.Worried. D.Doubtful.
