Text 10
Hey,folks.Don't change the channel.You know that feeling when you wake up in the morning and you need that cup of coffee? Not so fast! You've still got to pour the water,measure out the coffee,turn the machine on,then pour the milk and sugar in and stir the whole thing,and that takes up valuable time when you could be doing something else,like sleeping! And most of the time,you make a so-so cup of coffee because you're so tired in the morning that you can barely open your
eyes.You could go down to a cafe and get that coffee made to order just the way you like it,but those costs add up pretty quickly.What if I told you there was a product out there that could make your coffee for you and automatically add the right amount of milk and sugar,and do it in a quarter of the time as a regular coffee maker? Would you be interested in that?
Of course you would! It's called the Morning Miracle.And the best part is that you can control the machine with your voice,so you don't even need to get out of bed! What are you waiting for? Just send $99 to the address on your screen,plus $15 for shipping.Don't wait! Get the new Morning Miracle now!

Our ship sailed on the sea into the Earth's night.Here, there was no visible light from the Sun or the Earth Engines.But as we looked up, we children saw the starry sky for the first time in our lives.How breathtakingly beautiful it was!
Ms. Xing put an arm around us while pointing at the sky with her other hand.“Look, children! That is Proxima Centauri (比邻星), our new home!” With these words, tears ran slowly down her face.Before long, we were all in tears—even the captain and crew.We all looked at the direction that Ms. Xing was pointing.There was only one point of light among the twinkling stars that shone constantly:Proxima Centauri—the only source of hope and comfort for a hundred future generations.“Whatever risks we might take, we will finally make it there!” said the captain, in an assured voice.
On our way back from the sea, we saw the first sign that Earth had begun its journey.In the night sky, a huge comet had appeared.It was the Moon, abandoned by humankind.Lunar Engines had been installed to the Moon to force it out of its orbit so that a disastrous crash could be avoided as the Earth sped up and moved away.As it progressed, the gravitational tide of the Moon caused the ocean to swell, creating gigantic waves.We quickly got off the ship to our destination in the Southern Hemisphere.The next few days were the countdown to our departure.
Finally came the big day! As Earth Engines was set at a full power, we got immediately blinded by the bright light from it.This acceleration created massive tsunamis hundreds of meters high that crashed onto the coasts of every continent.Burning hot hurricanes roared through the boiling waves, screaming with wild fury and pulling up almost every tree on Earth.
Our Earth, with its blue tail cutting through the darkness of space, had set out on its long journey, and with it went all of humankind.

The flight of butterflies has so far been somewhat of a secret to researchers, given their unusually large and broad wings relative to their body size.Researchers at Lund University in Sweden have studied the aerodynamics (空气动力) of butterflies in a wind tunnel (风洞).The results suggest that butterflies use a highly helpful flap(拍打) technique, therefore making use of their unique wings.This helps them rapidly take off when escaping natural enemies.
The researchers studied the wingbeats of freely flying butterflies during takeoff in a wind tunnel.During the upward process, the wings cup, creating an air-filled pocket between them.When the wings strike each other, the air is forced out, resulting in a backward strong stream of air that pushes the butterflies forward.The downward wingbeat has another function: the butterflies stay in the air and do not fall to the ground.
The wings' striking was described by researchers almost 50 years ago, but it is only in this study that the theory has been tested on real butterflies in free flight.Until now, it has been generally believed that butterfly wings are aerodynamically inefficient.However, the researchers suggest that the opposite is actually true.
“That the wings are cupped when butterflies flap them together, makes the wing flap much more effective.It is an elegant mechanism that is far more advanced than we imagined, and it is fascinating,”says biology researcher Per Henningsson, who studied the butterflies' aerodynamics.“The results of the study could help inspire improved performance and flight technology in small unmanned aircraft,”he continues.
In addition to studying the butterflies, the researchers designed mechanical wings that are modeled on real ones.The shape and flexibility of the mechanical wings as they are cupped and folded confirm the efficiency.Their measurements show that the pushing force created by the flexible wings is 22 percent higher and the efficiency 28 percent better compared to rigid wings.

After decades of exploring the moon, a dramatic vision is finally becoming reality.The Guardian recently reported that a project called Lunar Codex is planning to send and store over 30,000 works on the moon from artists, writers, filmmakers, and musicians from over 150 countries and regions.The goods to be stored range from novels and paintings to music, films,and even soil from Earth.
In fact, this is not the first time that people have tried sending human legacies (遗产) to outer space.In 1969, the Apollo 12 mission carried a ceramic piece with drawings.In 1971, the Apollo 15 staff left a sculpture to honor those who had died in space exploration.What's more famous is the Golden Record carried by spacecraft Voyager 1 and 2 from NASA in 1977, which contains human language, music and images.For example, a piece of Chinese guqin music, called Flowing Streams was included in it.
Although we don't know who determines which symbols of human legacies get sent out to space in most projects, it's obvious that the criteria keep changing.In the past,space heritage products only focused on space-related works; but gradually, more human-related contemporary goods which held great importance in their respective eras have been added to the list.In the Lunar Codex, films, diverse art and literary works produced by women, disabled artists, and even AI have been collected for the first time to be sent to the moon.
These changing criteria also leave space for ordinary people to imagine and think.Many people are now trying to store their DNA information digitally.Will people be able to find even more surprising and inventive ways to preserve their legacy in the future? Only time can tell.

第一节(满分15分)
在太空中,航天员刮胡子比较奇特。假定你是一名航天员,请根据下面提示,用英语写一篇刮胡子的日志。
1.每天用电动剃须刀刮脸时,我必须十分小心,以防止胡子渣从剃须刀边漏出来;
2.太空舱十分狭小,环保问题极为重要。如果细小的胡渣飘在座舱里,清理起来会十分困难。因此航天员无论男女,在去太空之前都要把头发剪短;
3.刮胡子是我在太空中最不喜欢做的事。
注意:1.词数80左右;
2.可适当增加细节,以使行文连贯。
参考词汇:电动剃须刀electric razor;胡子渣beard residue;座舱cockpit

[参考范文]
It is strange for an astronaut to shave in space.Every day when I shave with an electric razor,I have to be very careful in case beard residue leaks from the edge of the razor.Because the capsule is very small, environmental protection issues are very important.It can be very difficult to clean up if the little droppings are floating around in the cockpit.So both men and women have to have their hair cut short before they fly to space.Shaving is the last thing I like to do in space.
第二节(满分25分)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
We usually get up in the morning, take a quick shower, make breakfast and go to study or work.We take them all for granted.But what if you're born without legs and arms?
Nick Vujicic was born, without arms and legs, in 1982 in Melbourne, Australia.Nick faced all kinds of problems and troubles in his life.The first sight you see Nick, you may feel pity and sorrow for him.You may feel his annoyance and upset because he can find everyday situations difficult.
However, Nick doesn't make a problem of it.He has got just a “little drumstick (鸡腿)” for foot just as he says himself, because his dog sometimes mistakes it for a chicken claw.Even better, he has made it into a gift, and he addresses the world how to live and deal with misfortunes, and make it a profit.Nick is a very remarkable person now.He is from Australia, but meanwhile he is not often there any more.Nick travels around the world for his organization Life Without Limbs and he is a speaker in great demand who shares his mission with millions of people worldwide.He shares with his audience the importance of vision and dreaming big.He says that attitude is the most powerful tool in life and failure is just a learning experience.
But it wasn't always that way.Life was not easy for Nick when he was young.Although Nick had loving parents, he would find school life very hard as he would often be teased by the other children.He couldn't manage it and withdrew into himself more and more.At the age of 10, he decided that he shouldn't go on like this and he should have his own dream.He extremely wanted to live and be treated like a normal person, but he felt lost.
注意:续写词数应为150个左右。
Seeing his determined but confused expression, Nick's mother asked him what was wrong.____________________________________

[参考范文]
Seeing his determined but confused expression, Nick's mother asked him what was wrong.He told his mother the truth, tears filling his eyes.“I know you are meeting with difficulty.Is it high time you should change the circumstances?” she asked gently.Mother's words touched him deeply.He turned to her and said, “I think I have to change myself.Only in that way can I be happy.I will not let the circumstances lead me.” Hearing these, she smiled, “You should not look at your limitations, but at your strengths.”
Then Nick sat down in front of the mirror and looked at himself.He thought that he had beautiful eyes.He said to himself, “Those eyes are mine, and no one can take them from me.” In that way bit by bit, Nick learned to see the positive side of things.As a result, he got peace in his heart and learned, by trial and error, to deal with the circumstances.Now Nick is a satisfied and happy person.
