表示经常性或习惯性的动作,也表示客观事实和普遍真理。
当主语为第一、二人称或复数时,动词用原形;当主语为第三人称单数时,动词要用其第三人称单数形式。
动词第三人称单数形式的构成有规则变化和不规则变化两种:
①一般在动词词尾直接加s

②以s,x,ch,sh结尾的动词,词尾加es

③部分以o结尾的动词,加es

动词过去式的构成有规则变化和不规则变化两种:

形容词和副词比较级的构成有规则变化和不规则变化两种:
规则变化
①一般单音节词和少数以-er、-ow结尾的双音节词,直接在后面加-er
