Passage1(2025·河北·模拟预测)
In today’s world, social media has influenced the ways we talk to each other, share things, and live our lives. Sometimes it can also make us feel sad, wishing for others’ things and worrying about not being part of the fun. We call it FOMO, short for the fear of missing out.
FOM0 is common, especially among younger people. With just a touch on our phones, we can see the best parts of our friends’ lives. We see them traveling to amazing places, eating delicious food, or doing things that seem hard for us. Seeing this can make us feel like missing out on the fun.
But let’s think about it in a different way. Instead of worrying about what we’re missing, why don’t we enjoy what we already have? This is where JOMO comes in. JOMO stands for the joy of missing out. It means being happy with our own lives and understanding that what we see on social media is often just some carefully selected pictures of others’ lives. When we focus on our own experiences and journey, we’re less affected by what others show off. This way, we can get JOMO. We learn to be proud of our achievements and celebrate our special time, Doing what we love can help stop worrying and enjoy the present, Hobbies, sports, or spending time with the family and friends can give us happiness that social media can’t.
When social media connects us and shows us new things, it can make us feel bad and give us FOMO. But with JOMO, we can get our joy and happiness, We learn to love our lives, find value in every moment, and realize others’ lives aren’t always better. Passage2(2025·山东聊城·模拟预测)
Artificial intelligence (AI) is part of our everyday life. It makes our smart devices work. You might already be using an AI programme in school. But advanced chatbots, like ChatGPT, are new. They’re called generative (生成的) AI. Ask a chatbot a question, and it will create an answer. Some educators worry that chatbots could prevent students from learning on their own. Should students use AI to do their school homework? Here are two students’ different answers.
YES
Teaching kids how to use AI can prepare them for our technology-filled future. Using AI can help kids build the critical thinking (批判思维) and problem-solving skills. And it’s better that students learn about AI’s limitations now: its biases (偏见), its potential (可能性) to spread misinformation, and the ways it could be misused. I believe that as long as it’s done well, teaching AI in schools will change society for the better. Either you move with the times, or the times will move without you!
—Alexa, 11, Seattle
NO
Though generative AI will be popularly used in the future, we shouldn’t introduce it into schools for a few reasons. First, chatbots and other AI programmes are getting more and more advanced every day. Teachers might not know how to best integrate (使融合) them into their classes. Second, think of the cost to schools. Many wouldn’t be able to afford the latest technology, and that’s not fair to students. And most of all, AI lacks the humanity and emotion that kids get from a teacher. That human connection is important. A chatbot just feeds students information. But teachers know how to help students keep information.
—Ninis Twumasi, 12, New York
6.Which of the following statements in Paragraph 1 is TRUE?
A.AI is part of our everyday life.
B.AI can make smart devices work all the time.
C.AI would finish all the homework for students.
D.Chatbots could prevent students from learning by themselves.
7.According to Alexa, what is NOT the limitation of AI?
A.AI’s biases. B.Build the critical thinking.
C.The ways AI could be misused. D.AI’s potential to spread misinformation.
8.What does the underlined sentence aim to tell us?
A.Students should be allowed to use AI technology.
B.Students who don’t use AI have trouble succeeding.
C.AI will become less and less important in the future.
D.Don’t move with the times, and don’t follow the AI technology.

A.AI lacks the humanity and emotion.
B.Everyone can use the latest technology.
C.Teachers know how to integrate AI into classes.
D.AI knows how to help students keep information.
10.What is the statement Alexa and Ninis both agreed about Al?
A.AI can help students solve problems.
B.Schools cannot afford the cost of the latest technology.
C.In the future, generative AI will be used more and more popularly.
D.Teachers can easily use chatbots and other AI programmes in classes.
Passage3(2025·宁夏·模拟预测)
Are video games bad for our children? Today, many children spend a lot of their free time playing games on the Internet. This information tells us that the advantages (优点) and dangers of video games must be carefully considered.
For many people, video games are fun. They have bright lights, funny cartoons and exciting stories. Everywhere you look, you can see children playing these games.
Video games are educational too. They make kids think in a creative way and they have to move their hands and eyes quickly. What’s more, video games make children use their imagination (想象力). The player has to do many creative things, like drawing, telling stories and building things.
However, a new study shows that video games can also be bad for children. Firstly, many children spend too much time playing games on computers and this can lead to health problems. Besides, if children spend too much time playing games instead of doing homework, they can have problems at school and get bad grades. Finally, video games can influence children’s social skills. If children spend too much time playing video games by themselves, they might not learn how to play with their friends.
All in all, it seems clear that video games have some advantages and some disadvantages (缺点). Parents should know what games their children are playing and how much time they spend on them. Parents should also make sure their children get enough exercise and spend time with other children.

Passage4(2025·宁夏·模拟预测)
In October 2018, someone in South Carolina won $1.5 billion. The nearly impossible odds (概率) of winning were 1 in 302.5 million!
Would this money actually make someone happy? The experiences of several lottery (抽奖) winners show that it probably wouldn’t. For example, William Post had only $2.46 in the bank when he won $16.2 million in a New York lottery in 1998. Within 3 months, he was poor again because of careless spending. He wasn’t as happy as he felt before winning the prize.
Here is another example, Callie Rogers, a British teenager from a common family, won $3 million in 2003. She bought her family and friends lavish gifts and bought herself expensive clothes. After six years, Callie lost all her money and realized that money didn’t make her happy. In fact, she became worried that people were friendly with her only to get her money.
Lottery winners are not the only ones who can end up unhappy. People who get big money for some other reasons, e.g.receiving money from others, are also at risk. They may not know how to deal with money. They waste money on things they don’t need.
Researchers found that people are happy when they are able to pay for their basic needs, such as food, clothes, a safe place to live, and health care. People are also happy when they give reasonable (合理的) amounts of money to charities.
People can hope and wish to suddenly come into lots of money to improve their lives, but perhaps there are better ways to find happiness.
15.How does the writer support his opinion in Paragraph 2?
A.By giving an example. B.By listing numbers.
C.By telling the differences. D.By asking a question.
16.What did William and Callie have in common according to the passage?
A.They came from the same country.
B.They won the lotteries in the same year.
C.They were poor before winning the lotteries.
D.They spent their money quickly and carelessly.
17.What does the underlined word “lavish” in Paragraph 3 mean?
A.Expensive. B.Funny. C.Surprising. D.Lucky.
18.Which of the following can be inferred from the passage?
A.Big money brings lasting happiness.
B.People’s lives depend on lottery prizes.
C.Reasonable spending makes people happy.
D.The basic needs of people are easily satisfied.
Passage5(2025·贵州·模拟预测)
Have you ever wanted to achieve a goal and ended up doing lots of research on how to achieve it? As you learned more and more. It seemed you knew less and less. That is because when you learned a new concept (概念). You found that there was a lot more to know about it.
Usually, people think they need to get more and more information before trying a new idea. There is nothing wrong with learning a lot, but when you let learning get in the way of doing, you will never get going.
One of the best ways to learn is to take action and learn from the results that you get from those actions. Don’t be afraid of not being perfect and just take the first step. You will go further than those who are still in preparation. It’s good to be prepared, but over-preparation in trying to reach a goal won’t get you results. The knowledge and skills that you will need will be picked up along the way.
If a baby wants to learn how to walk, it doesn’t do it by just sitting there and thinking about how to walk. The best way for a baby to walk is to actually get up and start walking. Sure it may fall, but with every fall, it learns what is working and what is not and adjusts (调整) to it. By doing this over and over, it will finally learn to walk. This is the method you should use when you want to achieve your goals as well. It works.
Learning more is great but if all you’re doing is learning and not taking action, it’s time to change that. Just take the first step.
19.When you learned something new, you found there was ________ to know about it.
A.less B.nothing C.more
20.Which is NOT true according to the passage?
A.People need to learn a lot before trying a new idea.
B.One of the best ways to learn is to take action.
C.Learning has nothing to do with doing.
21.A baby should ________ when it wants to learn how to walk.
A.get up and start walking
B.sit there and think about how to walk
C.learn from its parents
22.The purpose of the passage is ________.
A.to tell us how to learn more
B.to tell us how to be successful
C.to talk about the importance of doing
Passage6(2025·贵州·模拟预测)
Is it better to be a wise person or an intelligent (有才智的) one? In other words, when it comes down to wisdom and intelligence, which is more important?
When I think about wisdom and intelligence, I believe that there are two kinds of people in the world: wise people and intelligent ones. My dad was a wise man. He used to say, “There’s no such thing as a stupid question.” My dad encouraged learning. He always made it a fun experience.
On the other hand, I had another friend who was really intelligent. He got straight A grades at college and a first-class degree in Advanced (高等的) Maths. He attended a birthday party at my house once and asked if there was anything he could do to help. I asked him to peel (剥) the eggs for me but he didn’t know how to do it.
So for me, there are clear distinguishments between wisdom and intelligence. Intelligence is the ability to learn and get knowledge, such as facts and figures, and then use this information accordingly. Wisdom comes from experiencing life. We learn through our experiences and use this knowledge to make decisions.
So, is one better than the other? Well, both are important at certain times in our lives. For example, you would prefer to have an intelligent person working as a safety officer in a nuclear (原子核的) power plant. However, if you were receiving solutions for a mental breakdown, you might prefer a wise person.
In fact, we should use our own intelligence and practice it in our own everyday experiences. By using intelligence this way, we can learn how to be wise ourselves.
23.The writer’s father used to think ________.
A.all the questions were useful
B.not every question was stupid
C.quite a few questions were smart
24.What can we know about the writer’s friend?
A.He disliked peeling eggs. B.He liked doing housework. C.He did well in schoolwork.
25.The underlined word “distinguishments” in Paragraph 4 is closest in meaning to ________.
A.relationships B.differences C.situations
26.What could be the best title for this passage?
A.How to Be a Wise Man?
B.Why to Be an Intelligent Man?
C.Which is Better, Wisdom or Intelligence?
Passage7(2025·江苏南通·模拟预测)
More and more schools are using closed-circuit television (闭路电视) cameras to watch what students do during and between lessons. Some teachers think they’re good. Others worry about how it is used. But what do the students think? Here are some e-mails from the students around the world.
Harriet, 15, England
“We have them in our school in the toilets, classrooms, dining halls, playground and library. It’s not comfortable to have people watch your every move. It feels like a prison (监狱). I HATE IT!!!”
Lin Tao, 14, China
“I think these cameras in schools are unthinkable because you have no privacy (隐私), but can be good in some ways because then the teachers can know what is happening.”
Hayley, 14, the USA
“Having CCTV cameras in schools is good because they can keep us safe and stop stealing and bullying (偷窃和以大欺小). These are big problems in schools. And we can catch bad people because the cameras can provide evidence. I don’t really worry because I never do anything wrong.”
Rayaan, 13, Japan
“It is not a good idea. Students will learn to behave (表现得体) when they are in front of the cameras, but this can’t stop them doing bad things later. Teachers should teach children how to behave without using cameras, so they will know what to do.”
27.Many schools use ________ to watch what the students do at school.
A.computers B.CCTV cameras C.telephones D.TV sets
28.The Chinese meaning of the underlined word “evidence” is “________”.

Passage8(24-25九年级下·河北)
It’s important to teach your children good manners. Teaching good manners should begin long before they know how to walk or talk. In life, you have to set a good example for them.
But how do we teach them good manners? There is a good book, How to Behave and Why. It is written by Munro Leaf. I read it with my first-grade students and we love the book. It tells good manners that every child should know. The words in the book are not difficult and there are pictures in it. They make the book easy to understand.
Also, you can teach your children in life. Before they go to school or a friend’s house, tell them the importance of good manners. In your family, you can make a list of family manners. This helps children learn good manners anytime. And you can have a manner competition. It makes learning manners more interesting.
What are good manners for children? At school, they should respect (尊敬) teachers and other classmates. They shouldn’t be noisy in class. And they should say “hello” or “goodbye” to teachers and classmates, and “thank you” when they get help from others. Good table manners are important, too. For example, teach your children not to talk with their mouths full. Tell them that old people should eat first. Teach your children not to be late for classes, parties, meetings and so on.

34.What is the best title for the text?
A.The Importance of Reading B.Family Manners and Competitions
C.How to Behave in School D.Teaching Good Manners to Children
Passage9
Nature and culture are often seen as opposite ideas. What belongs to nature cannot be the result of human activities and, on the other hand, cultural development is achieved against nature. However, this is not the only opinion on the relationship between nature and culture. Studies in the development of humans suggest that culture, whether taken as an effort against nature or a natural effort, is part of the development of the human species.
Several modern writers saw the process of education as a struggle against human nature. We are born with wild natures, such as eating and behaving in a disorganized way or acting selfishly. Education uses culture as a way to get us out of our widest natures; it is thanks to culture that the human species could learn to adapt, progress and raise itself above and beyond other species.
Over the past century and a half, however, studies in the history of human development have shown that the formation of culture is part of the biological adaptation. Consider, for example, hunting. It seems to be an adaptation, which allowed humans to move into new and different areas, opening up the opportunity to change living habits. At the same time, the development of weapons is related to that adaptation—from rocks and stones to a set of hunting tools, and from hunting tools to rules relating to the proper use of weapons. Hunting also seems to be responsible for a whole set of bodily abilities, such as balancing on one foot. Just think of how this very simple thing is closely related to dance, a key expression of human culture. It is then clear that biological development and cultural development are closely tied.
The transmission of culture seems to be directly related to what’s in our blood. Just as snails carry their shell, so do we bring along our culture. However, culture is also passed on among people of the same times or among people belonging to different populations. We can learn how to make jiaozi even if we were born from Russian parents in Paris just as we can learn how to speak English even if none of our family or friends speaks that language.
35.What is Paragraph 2 mainly intended to tell readers?
A.Nature teaches humans how to adapt to rules.
B.Humans are supposed to be well organized.
C.Culture pushes the human species to progress.
D.Culture is part of the development of human nature.
36.Why does the writer take “hunting” for example?
A.To show how culture develops as humans adapt to the environment.
B.To underline the importance of tools in humans’ struggle for life.
C.To suggest some possible ways of changing humans’ living habits.
D.To explain why there is a need to call for the proper use of weapons.
37.According to the last paragraph, we know culture ________.
A.should be valued B.can be developed C.should be respected D.can be spread
38.What is the writer’s opinion on the nature-culture relationship?
A.Culture and nature are separate yet balanced.
B.Nature and culture are different but connected.
C.Culture depends much on nature to progress.
D.Nature follows the unwritten rules set by culture.
Passage10(24-25九年级上·山东菏泽·期末)
When talking about their personalities (性格), people often say they are extrovert or introvert. Introverts, according to Harvard Health, like staying in their own world while extroverts get joy through socializing (社交).
Interest in the personalities is rising, with the popularity of MBTI tests on Chinese social media. But some people are not sure about the differences between being introverts and having a social phobia (社恐). Some even make an excuse (借口) of having a social phobia to avoid any social events. Sometimes, it’s understandable, because they hope to keep a safe social distance (距离). However, there is a difference. People with the social phobia feel uncomfortable with their body and mind when socializing with others.
In Xiaohongshu, a user named Kuaile Xiaoyueba shares her experiences with people who use the social phobia as an excuse. As a teacher in high school, Xiaoyueba needs to check on her students’ studies often. When she asks them questions face to face, some students choose to answer. Others, however, don’t answer and leave without a word. In Xiaoyueba’s mind, some of them are truly shy but others are just labeling (贴标签) themselves as “too cool” to reply. “It makes me sad and even doubt myself,” she wrote.
These students may feel “safe” or be showing their true self. But they may also be pushing away or hurting people who really care about them. Avoiding social situations will not help them over a long period of time.
Socializing should be a way to connect with others. No matter if we are introverts or extroverts, we all need to understand each other.
39.Which word can best describe extroverts?
A.Shy. B.Outgoing. C.Polite.
40.What are introvert people like?
A.They enjoy being alone.
B.They like to label others in their own ways.
C.They feel uncomfortable with body and mind when socializing.
41.What is paragraph 3 mainly about?
A.A problem caused by handing in homework late.
B.A reason why people get joy through socializing.
C.An example of using the social phobia as an excuse.
42.What is the purpose of the passage?
A.To ask readers to show their true self.
B.To tell readers how important it is to be extrovert.
C.To advise readers to be understanding when socializing.
Passage11(24-25九年级上·安徽淮北·期末)
The Debate (辩论) on Whether Good Manners Are Still Important
Nowadays, people are discussing whether good manners are still as important as they used to be. Some think manners are very important, while others believe they are old-fashioned and not necessary.
On one side, many people believe that manners are the basic rules for getting on well with others. They teach us how to behave properly. For example, using a knife and fork the right way at the table can show respect. Also, good manners create a friendly environment. People can spend time together without worrying about offending (冒犯) each other.
On the other hand, some people feel that manners can put too much pressure on people to fit in. What’s more, good manners can be different from one culture to another. For example, in some countries, it’s polite to eat with your hands, while in others, using chopsticks is expected. Besides, they argue that being polite doesn’t always reflect true feelings. If people are kind to each other, there is no need to follow set (固定的) rules. Also, manners have changed over time. About 100 years ago, children were expected to be quiet unless an adult spoke to them, which is very different from today:

46.Where can readers vote on this topic?
A.In a classroom discussion. B.At a community meeting.
C.In a local newspaper. D.On a website.
Passage12(24-25九年级上·江苏盐城·期末)
How do you treat your books? Do you use a bookmark to avoid folding (折叠) a page and keep your books clean and tidy on a shelf? Or perhaps you pay less attention to their condition—you’re happy to take notes down the margins (页边空白) of a page. What’s your idea—do you think they should always be kept in good condition?
Yes. Books deserve our respect.
It is important to care for your books. This is especially true if the book costs a lot of money or is given to you as a present. It also won’t last long if they are damaged (破坏). If a book is full of ripped (撕破的) pages, it is less possible that a friend will want to pick it up and read. If you donate it to a charity shop, it is less possible that someone will buy it. Over time, treating books badly could become a bad habit.
NO. It doesn’t matter if you just read.
One of the great things about an actual book is that readers can make it their own with notes. If it’s a gift, you can write a nice message. It can make a book feel personal and special to you. It doesn’t matter if this means that a book isn’t in perfect condition—you can always buy a new copy if the old one gets too damaged. In the end, writers just want people to read their stories: they don’t mind how or where people do it.
47.What is the passage about?

B.The discussion about whether we should keep books well.
C.The reasons for reading more books in daily life.

49.According to the passage, someone may not want to pick the book to read if ________.
A.it costs a lot of money B.it is a present
C.it is full of ripped pages D.it is from a charity shop
50.Some people think keeping books in good condition is unimportant probably because ________.
A.they like untidy books better than those in good condition
B.they would rather throw the old books away
C.they think books with messages may make people less interested
D.they care more about writers’ stories than how books are kept
Passage13(24-25九年级上·内蒙古赤峰·期末)
When you go shopping in any toy store, you can see clearly that there are a lot of pink toys on one side of the store for girls; and dark colored cars, guns, and soldiers for boys.
Some people think that too much pink is bad for girls. Why do girls prefer pink? Firstly, most companies offer too many products in pink. Also, many parents think their little daughter looks cute in pink. Sue Palmer, says that girls at this age cannot make proper decisions by themselves, but the pink can affect the choices and the decisions they will make in the future.
Some parents are worried too — for example, Vanessa Holburn, whose daughter’s bedrooms is a sea of pink. “Pink says that you are soft and gentle. Blue says that you are strong and powerful. I want my daughters to be strong and powerful. I’m worried that pink will not help them with that,” she says.
But not everyone thinks there’s something wrong with pink. Grayson Turner is a father of three girls and he isn’t worried at all. “This love of pink is just a fashion and all fashions change,” he says.
51.How many reasons are there for most girls are crazy about pink?
A.Two B.Three C.Four D.Five
52.Which of the following best shows the structure of the passage?

Passage14(24-25九年级上·辽宁沈阳·期末)
How would you feel if someone decided to take away your park? Well, that’s what’s happening in my community. There’s a park that some people want to turn into a golf course (高尔夫球场). Let me tell you why I think it’s a bad idea.
First, a park is meant to be for the whole community. Not everyone likes golf, so not everyone will get to use the course. This isn’t fair. A community park should have open spaces for everyone to use.
Second, to make way for the golf course, lots of playground equipment (设施) will have to be moved or broken down, which is a waste of time and money.
Third, not all kids are crazy about golf. At the moment, the park has a skating place and a playground. These attract lots of kids from the community. If you turn the park into a golf course, this means these kids will stay at home and turn on a video game rather than get some exercise. It also means that they might be out on the street causing trouble. Wouldn’t it be better to give them something to do at the park?
Finally, golf is expensive. Building a golf course and maintaining (维护) it will cost a lot of money. Who is going to pay to maintain the golf course? What about those people who can’t afford to join a golf club? That means that the golf course will only be available to people with lots of money.
Turning our park into a golf course is a bad idea. I suggest we have a community meeting before plans go any further.
55.Some people want to change the park into ________.
A.a golf club B.a golf course
C.a zoo D.a skating place
56.According to Paragraph 4, having nowhere to go will make some children ________.
A.go to get some exercise B.fall in love with golf
C.play video games at home D.go to the street and make friends
57.Which of the following shows the structure of the passage? (P= Paragraph)
A.B.C. D.
58.What is the writer’s purpose in writing this passage?
A.To help carry out further plans.

Passage15(24-25九年级上·北京东城·期末)
In recent years, self-care has become a popular topic across social media. However, many people find it difficult to truly receive the benefits. Why? Because we’ve lost touch with what it really means to take care of ourselves.
Self-care is often seen as something grand and expensive only for special times or when life gets very stressful. Real self-care, however, doesn’t require a lot of money or time. It’s about finding simple, meaningful ways to check in with yourself regularly (定期地), even among your daily responsibilities. It could be taking five minutes to breathe deeply or having a cup of tea quietly.
One of the most important aspects of self-care is the ability to be fully present in the moment. Imagine lying on the beach while checking emails or social media. The purpose might be to relax, but the reality is that your mind is still taking in information, leaving you feeling just as tired as before. Presence requires mindfulness—fully getting involved in the activity rather than focusing on what’s next on your to-do list. When you’re present, even simple acts of self-care become powerful tools for refreshment.
The most effective self-care practices are often the simplest ones—those that can easily fit into your daily routine (日常事务). What matters most is consistency because it strengthens the habit of checking in with yourself and satisfying your needs in time. Consider the influence of just a few minutes each day on something that makes you feel good, such as enjoying a moment of silence during your lunch break or going for a short walk. These small acts, when practiced repeatedly, can have an increasing effect on your well-being.
Practicing self-care, however, can be difficult. For some people, there’s always a voice that says, “There’s too much to do to waste time on self-care.” This inner voice makes us think that taking time for ourselves is selfish. Others may feel regretful for stepping away from their responsibilities, even for a short time. These inner blocks are an important reason why self-care can feel stressful. You should clear them and allow yourself to care for your physical and mental health without self-judgement.
As you deal with the challenges of daily life, remember that self-care is a necessity. By focusing on presence and consistency and by dealing with the inner blocks that hold you back, you can unlock the true benefits of self-care.
59.Why does the writer use the example in Paragraph 3?

With the fast growth of technology (科技), AI has entered our lives and may influence our lives in many ways. It may have good and bad sides.
On the good side, AI may make our life easier. For example, smart home things which are controlled by AI can change the temperature and provide voice service. AI is useful in many jobs too. Also, robots with AI can do some dangerous and boring jobs, so people don’t have to do them in the future.
On the bad side, there are bad things too. Maybe in the future, many jobs might be taken by AI. Easy jobs like putting data into a computer and some factory line work could be lost. And people are worried about privacy (隐私). AI collects and studies a lot of personal information. If it’s not managed well, this information could be lost or used in the wrong way. Also, as AI gets stronger, some people are afraid it might not be controlled by humans.
In the end, while AI gives us many good things, we also have to be careful about the bad things it might bring.

Passage17(2024·广东广州·二模)
Technology has done our world wonders: from development in medicine, travel, communication, to our day-to-day lives. It has undoubtedly changed the way our society works, and how we communicate with one another and ourselves. However, by completely welcoming technology as a part of everyday life, are we losing our ability to create?
Technology presents a new platform for creativity to exist on. Through technology, ideas can be set free and come to life in the physical world. We have the necessary tools for greater possibilities and new solutions. For example, businesses now have the opportunity to improve themselves more creatively through websites, film advertisements, social media or radio.
However, when we look more closely, it’s easy to notice some disadvantages. For example, many of us depend so heavily on automated calculations (自动计算) nowadays, rather than taking the time to work it out for ourselves. Another obvious situation is that a lot of people are spending too much time on screens. As a result, they are reducing the opportunities to come up with their own creations.
Is there a way to find a balance between technology and human creativity? I think so. It is simply a matter of making sure that creativity is not deterred by technology. The first way is to reduce our usage of digital devices (数字设备) by setting limits on when, where, and how long we use them, turning off the notifications (通知) on your phone, or putting your phone on “Do Not Disturb”. Once you become used to these, you will feel surprised how little you think about your phone.
Another wonderful way is to take daily walks in the nature. It can help you reset, re-balance, and keep going. In the long run, a daily walk can not only influence our creativity and imagination but further our physical and mental health. We can also develop our creativity by doing yoga, keeping a diary, or reading.
The key to the survival of our creativity starts with us. Will you put your phone away when spending time with friends? Will you try to find happiness and purpose outside of a screen? The action you choose to take will help change the relationship between creativity and technology for the better.
66.Why does the writer talk about businesses in paragraph 2?
A.To stress the importance of creativity.
B.To suggest good ways to develop technology.
C.To show the effect that technology has on creativity.
D.To explain the relationship between business and creativity.
67.What does the underlined word “deterred” mean in paragraph 4?
A.Examined. B.Controlled. C.Replaced. D.Prevented.
68.Which of the following does the writer most probably agree with?
A.Limiting the usage of our phones can help us to develop creativity.
B.Spending time on screens is the easiest way to keep people focused.
C.Turning off the notifications on the phone will make people worried.
D.A daily walk does more good to physical health than to mental health.
69.What would be the best title for the passage?
A.Creativity in a World of Technology: Does It Exist?
B.Technology: How Does It Help to Develop Our Creativity?
C.Technology and Creativity: Which of Them Is More Important?
D.Technology and Creativity: How Do They Influence Each Other?
Passage18(2024·广东广州·一模)
The world’s oldest known musical instruments are more than 40,000 years old. For tens of thousands of years, humans have been making music for pleasure and to express themselves. Recently, there has been a rise in the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to create music. Some AI music has become so popular online. The technology has been used by lots of musicians. Some people think that using AI to produce music isn’t creative enough because it just makes songs out of old music. What do you think? Is AI bad for new music?
Yes—AI music is not creative, says Peter
Using AI might be cheaper than paying a musician. If companies can use AI to produce popular music that makes lots of money from people buying and listening to it, it could put musicians like me out of work. If musicians can’t earn money from music, there will be far fewer of them creating new songs. Anyway, listening to music that was made by a computer isn’t the same experience as listening to human-made music.
When I create songs, I put different feelings and real experiences into my work, creating songs that connect with people at a deep level. Songs produced by AI aren’t original because the computer just makes music from the old one. AI music isn’t completely creative.
No—AI can produce new ideas, says Mary
I’m a music lover. When I turn on my radio or headphones and a great new song comes on, it makes me feel good. Wonderful music brings people together to sing and dance. If people are enjoying music, does it matter whether it was made by a human or a machine?
I think music makers can use computers, which help to perfect sound and mix different layers of a song. For them, AI is just another new technology, a tool that they can use to express ideas. It won’t replace musicians but they can work with it. Building on AI music could save them time. It could allow much more music to be produced and it could lead to new and special style s of music. AI could create exciting music that humans could never have dreamed of.
Now that you’ve read a bit more about it, tell us what you think at theweekjunior.co.uk. We’ll publish the result next week.
WHAT DO YOU THINK?
70.What is the purpose of the passage?
A.To suggest what humans can do with the help of AI.
B.To show how AI helps musicians produce new ideas.

Passage19
Most of us cannot imagine modern life without social media(社交媒体). We use it almost every day in order to keep up with what is happening in our friends’ lives, or find out the latest information. Although it has a bad influence if we don’t use it properly, social media has done more good than harm.
The greatest advantage is that we can connect with people much more easily. We are still able to keep in touch with our friends if they are far away. With social media, friendship goes beyond geography. We are able to find friends old and new. Also, it makes it easier for us to make friends, especially for those who are afraid of making friends face to face. Are you shy? If yes, social media has probably helped.
Social media is also ideal for making yourself heard. Anyone with a voice can express it. Anyone with a talent is free to show it. Everyone is the new content creator. Moreover, anyone with a smartphone and the Internet can be a reporter. As a result, it has become much faster to cover the news than ever before.
Social media, on the other hand, can make us less confident sometimes. A 2021 study published by the Public Library of Science, found that the more a person uses social media, the sadder he feels about his own life. One reason for this is that people around us put colourful information and perfect pictures online in order to show off their best moment. So we often get a distorted sense of how wonderful their lives are compared to our own.
Social media does not cause sadness; it simply provides another tool for us to use. Is it good or bad? Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai says, “What is interesting is the power and influence of social media ... We must try to use social media in a good way.” After all, you decide how you use this powerful tool.

C.Social Media: Connecting The World D.Social Media: Making Yourself Heard
Passage20
“What should I wear today?” That’s a question you might ask yourself in the morning. For some kids, the answer is the same every day — a school uniform.
More than 10 years ago, 3 percent of all public schools in the US required that students wear uniforms. Now, that number is closer to 10 percent. Some people support the policy (政策), hoping that uniforms will encourage students to focus on (专注于) their work. Opponents, however, say students should be allowed to express themselves through their clothing.
Yes!
◆ “My school has a strict uniform policy. At school my friends and I don’t have the need to discuss clothes, and we enjoy just being together and learning. The best thing I like about our uniform is the style, especially, the shirts and sweaters,” said fourth grade Clifton Harris.
◆ “It helps save parents’ money,” a mother said.
◆ “I think uniforms help students focus on their studies rather than their clothes,” Megan Mannion said. Her school, Rankin Elementary School, has had a uniform policy since 1995.
No!
◆ “I think students should choose their own clothing styles, rather than be told to wear a specific uniform,” fifth grade Kaylie Vilayvong said. Her classmate Wade Fleetwood agrees. “Kids should be allowed to wear different styles of clothes.”
◆ Some parents are worried about the expense (花费). Most schools offer uniforms at a price between $24 and $26. “What’s the school going to do for people who can’t afford them?” asked a father.

Passage21(2024·北京·中考真题)
Almost everyone has experienced the feeling of discomfort when their actions do not agree with their inner values. A man, for example, values work-life balance yet works 80 hours every week, caring little about his own health and family. Another example is a boy who holds his parents’ love dear but gets angry at them in a moment of stress; or a woman who hopes to live healthily but gives in to the attraction of fast food during moments of weakness.
This disagreement can lead to serious results, such as worsening relationships, limited personal growth, and self-doubt. The emotional effects of feeling out of control and unable to live up to our own standards can also be deeply harmful. The shame and upset that go along with these feelings often force us into silence, resulting in more self-doubt. One reason for this silence might be that admitting (承认) to these behaviors can feel like showing a weakness or mistake that society tells us should be kept hidden. What’s more, recognizing this disagreement requires coming face to face with uncomfortable truths about ourselves—a process that is as discouraging as it is necessary for growth.
Recognizing and addressing these behaviors can provide a possibility of change. By looking into the causes of our behaviors, we can begin to understand our actions more easily and work toward sticking to our beliefs. Research supports the idea that recognizing this disagreement, together with mindfulness and open communication, can help with this process. These methods help us slow down, reflect (反思), and choose behaviors that follow our values more closely, even in the face of old habits or immediate needs.
The key to dealing with this disagreement lies in compassion (同情) for ourselves and others. By developing a culture of openness and by understanding the challenges of aligning behaviors with beliefs, we can begin to break down what prevents us from having conversation and change. Admitting that this disagreement is a shared part of the human experience can enable us to speak openly, find support, and take necessary steps toward the agreement between our inner world and our actions.
While the disagreement between our inner values and actions may be common, through reflection, understanding and purposeful practice, we can bridge the divide and set out on a journey of self-discovery.
83.Why does the writer use the examples in Paragraph 1?
A.To stress an unavoidable need. B.To show a result of the wrong values.
C.To describe a common human experience. D.To introduce a change in people’s relationships.
84.What does the word “aligning” in Paragraph 4 most probably mean?
A.Matching. B.Comparing. C.Mixing. D.Confusing.
85.Which of the following would the writer most probably agree with?
A.Discomfort forces us to give up our beliefs.
B.Our behaviors weaken our understandings of life.
C.Open communication makes it possible for us to change.
D.Keeping silent allows us time to live up to our standards.
86.What is the writer’s main purpose in writing this passage?
A.To encourage people to stay true to their beliefs.
B.To prove the importance of having the right values.
C.To compare different ways to deal with discomfort.
D.To discuss the influence of people’s improper actions.
Passage22(2024·吉林长春·中考真题)
①Is the summer vacation long enough to turn life for the better? Every person has his own talents and interests. Find something you care about, and you will see the difference.
②Organize a clean-up program. People often throw litter in the place where there is already litter. This leaves the community in a mess. The environment will become better if someone volunteers to help. You could pick up the rubbish with your friends once a week in your neighborhood. You could also help take care of the plants every few days. Surely, a clean and tidy neighborhood will be worth the work.
③Show your love to the old. Our city has some old people’s homes. Without children around them, the old people there might feel lonely once in a while. Maybe they need your help. In fact, you can do a lot for them. For example, you can talk with them or play games with them. Listening to them carefully is also a good idea. Some old people can’t see clearly and they would like you to read to them. No matter what small things you do, you can make them feel loved.
④Set up a reading project with your friends. Share your favorite books with them. Besides, you may read aloud to each other and talk about what you read. Either a book or an article can spark a lively discussion and your further thinking. The process often challenges more people to take action. The project is also a good way to welcome newcomers. At the same time, you may find new friends with similar hobbies.
⑤A two-month summer vacation isn’t that long, but it’s enough to make a difference.

At an early age, we start learning how to manage money by watching our parents’ spending habits. Don’t worry if we haven’t learned well how to save or spend money. The following life lessons about money can help us form good spending habits.
Money doesn’t grow on trees. As kids, we don’t often think about where money comes from. We need to know that our parents work hard to make money, and that it may be used up one day. Going to their workplaces to watch how they work is a great way to understand money is not that easy to make.

Write down how much money we have in a notebook and watch it grow. After we have enough, we can buy that wonderful bicycle we’ve dreamed about! Reaching our goal will greatly satiate us.
We can talk with our parents about how money is used and where money goes. Do you know what a bank account (账户) is? If not, communicate with our parents. We can also go to the supermarket with our parents to experience how money is spent in the real world.

Passage24(2024·四川眉山·中考真题)
Which is more important in your mind, looking fashionable or feeling comfortable? You may find many people choose style over comfort and some even go to extremes (极端) to follow fashion. But we should remember: being fashionable isn’t everything. It’s more important to be healthy.
Some people believe that they need to be a certain size to look good. So, they start extreme diets that are not good for their health. They might not eat meals or eat too little, which can make them feel sick. Is it a healthy way to live?
Also, many girls wear shoes with very high heels. They might think high heels make them look taller. But these shoes can actually hurt their feet and make it hard to walk comfortably, and they can increase the risks of falls. Some even wear tight clothes that influence blood circulation (循环), making it hard to breathe. Should we put fashion over comfort and physical health?
Besides, some boys and girls spend a lot of time and money changing their hair color. The material they use is usually harmful to their health. To make their hair straight or curly, they also use tools that are hot enough to burn their hair. But using these tools too often or at very high temperatures can make the hair dry or even burnt. Is it really worth it to risk our health, spending so much time and money?
So, let’s think again what’s really important. Is it fashion or is it our well-being? Clothes or hairstyles don’t tell us anything about a person’s character. Instead of spending a lot of time choosing clothes, we could use that time to do fun things with friends. And instead of following extreme diets, let’s eat properly and exercise regularly. Passage25(2024·四川遂宁·中考真题)
As language learners, it’s important to use dictionaries. Paper dictionaries are often great choices for us. They lead us to think in a more exact way. However, with the rapid development of the Internet, many websites and apps offer us information about the language we are learning, so some language learners like online dictionaries better. Here is what some students think of the two kinds of dictionaries.
Lin Tao, 14
I like to look up something in a paper dictionary better. Their explanations are so clear that I can understand them better. I don’t think some online dictionaries are believable. There are many incorrect usages which can make us confused.
Wang Lan, 15
If we are not good at memorizing English words, we can look up their meanings online very soon. It helps us finish reading the English articles more smoothly. If we are good language learners, we can always learn more in a shorter time with an online dictionary. It saves much time.
Meng Hao, 14
My paper dictionary is a great friend for me. Whenever I don’t know the meaning of a new word, I can learn it well by understanding the notes and the example sentences in the paper dictionary.
Tian Xiao, 13
I don’t like carrying a heavy dictionary wherever I go. It’s really convenient to learn a language with the help of an online dictionary. We don’t need to spend much time looking up new words. Using an online dictionary makes a more effective learner.

Passage26(2024·内蒙古包头·中考真题)
In China, more and more people read at community reading rooms. For example, Luyang district of Hefei has built more than 100 reading rooms in recent years, so people can enjoy the fun of reading at their doorsteps. In the UK, 3,718 libraries provide different kinds of services, including lending out books and offering a free, warm and safe space for people to go to. Some libraries make it easier to borrow books: for example, by delivering books to library users’ doorsteps.
Libraries do more than house books. They provide people with other services and tools, such as computers, and create a sense of community. However, many libraries in the UK are at risk of closing because they can’t afford the cost of operating. Library fines (罚款) are carried out when people don’t return books on time.
Many people in the UK believe that fines are needed because they help libraries improve services, and prevent people from returning books late. Without fines, people might be more relaxed and many more books could be returned late. After all, some books are so popular that there can be a waiting list for people who want to read it next. Libraries only work if people borrowing books return them on time, ready for other library users to enjoy.
However, one third of Britain’s libraries are fine-free now. This means some library users who don’t return books by the date agreed are not charged (收费). Besides, people who don’t have much money really depend on libraries to help them save some money, not spend it. Many libraries have got rid of fines all together, which makes libraries more welcoming environments.
So, should libraries stop fining people? See what we find in other countries.
106.What is paragraph 1 mainly about?
A.Libraries are facing more challenges. B.Libraries are popular with young readers.
C.It’s convenient for people to read nowadays. D.It’s not easy to find a place to relax after work.
107.Why are many libraries in the UK at risk of closing?
A.Some people break the library rules. B.They can’t afford the cost of operating.
C.They are short of books and computers. D.More community libraries have been built.
108.What’s the main idea of the passage?
A.Library fines can be stressful to readers.
B.Libraries need money to improve services.
C.There are different views on library fines in Britain.
D.People prefer reading in community reading rooms.

Passage27(2023·浙江湖州·中考真题)
①Chinese calligraphy (书法) was once considered an important part of the school curriculum (课程). However, for many reasons, some people think it’s less important to teach this art form at school now. In this article, I will look at both the pros and cons of learning Chinese calligraphy at school.
②One reason why Chinese calligraphy should be learned at school is that it is an important form of culture expression. Clearly, it is not just about practicing handwriting. It is also about connecting with a traditional Chinese art form. When students learn this art in class, they will become more interested in the works of famous Chinese artists.
③Another reason is that it may help students to develop patience. At the times of high technology, students are getting less patient for traditional classroom learning. By introducing Chinese calligraphy into the classroom, students’ patience can be improved because they have to practice focusing on each brush movement.
④From the above, it can be seen that there are clear advantages. However, others think there are some disadvantages. The first one is that it has little to do with students’ life. Living in a modern age, pens and paper will lose their importance by and by. So, wouldn’t it be a backward (倒退的) step if students were asked to spend their valuable time at school learning Chinese calligraphy?
⑤The second argument against learning Chinese calligraphy at school is that it takes a long time to master. The time at school is better spent on more important subjects. After all, learning Chinese calligraphy can always be done as an after-school activity if students are really interested in it.
⑥In my opinion, the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages. This special art form is one of China’s national treasures. It also helps to enrich students’ life and improve their sense of beauty. So without doubt, it is worth being included in the school curriculum.
110.Which of the following is the structure of the passage?
A.B.C. D.
111.What can we learn from the passage?
A.High technology can help students become more patient.
B.Students should spend more time on after-school activities.
C.Learning Chinese calligraphy gets more popular in the modern age.
D.Students may like art works better after learning Chinese calligraphy.
112.What does the writer probably think of learning Chinese calligraphy?
A.Important and necessary. B.Valuable but backward.
C.Popular and interesting. D.Meaningful but boring.
Passage28(2023·广东广州·中考真题)
Computer scientist Mary has an idea for a new robot to help her work with children. How should it look? The robot should have arms to be able to lift things. And if it is going to communicate with people, it will also need a face. Scientists believe that giving a robot a face can make it seem more friendly. Humans would also like to pay more attention to robots with faces. But what kind?
For Mary, she wants to make sure that her new robot doesn’t look too much like a human. She wants people to just treat it as a machine-person. If it looks more like a human than a machine, she thinks users might find it a bit creepy and feel afraid. Mary also believes that robot faces don’t need to look a lot like ours. Her research shows that we can enjoy communicating with robots whether or not they look like humans, because our brains are able to look for faces. Just put two circles on top of a robot’s body, and we will see a face.
Dave feels differently. He believes that although at first we might be afraid when seeing a robot with a lifelike face, we may soon get used to it. If robots are going to work closely with humans, they should look as much like us as possible. After all, faces are an important part of the way we communicate.
To make his robots look as much like real people as possible, Dave invented a special skin (皮肤) for their faces. With this skin, robots can show human-like expressions and appear to be angry, sad, happy or surprised. Dave’s robots are also programmed to copy expressions. How? Just imagine his robot is looking at you. The cameras in its eyes send pictures of your face to its central computer!
113.Why do scientists think a robot needs a face?
A.It will become more beautiful. B.It can do better in lifting things.
C.It will pay more attention to children. D.It can better communicate with people.
114.What does the underlined word “creepy” mean in paragraph 2?
A.Uncomfortable to look at. B.Impossible to touch.
C.Boring to talk to. D.Difficult to understand.
115.Which of the following would Dave most probably agree with?
A.People should treat robots as humans.
B.Robots need to express their own feelings.
C.Robots shouldn't look too much like humans.
D.People can easily accept robots with a human face.
116.What is the purpose of the passage?
A.To explain the reasons why robots should have faces.
B.To suggest what humans can do with robots with faces.
C.To share ideas on what kind of faces robots should have.
D.To show how scientists invent robots with different faces.
Passage29(2023·四川眉山·中考真题)
Do you like to travel alone? Or do you think it’s better to travel with friends? If you’re still deciding, please read on. I will explain the advantages of both ways.
One of the great things about traveling alone is that you make the rules about where you go and what you eat. You’ll be surprised at what you discover about yourself without any influence.
Traveling alone really shows you what you’re made of and helps you to discover inner strength (内心的力量) you didn’t know you had. Besides, it also gives you time to think, learn and grow. When your eyes are wide open, you’ll get a whole new outlook on the world.
It’s easy to think that traveling alone is lonely. Although that may sometimes be true, you’re hardly ever alone. When you travel in a one-person team, this can provide a chance for you to enjoy the most interesting part of travel—communicating with the locals and meeting travelers from all corners of the world.
In fact, traveling to know more about the world is not easy. There’s research to be done, flights to be booked and choices to be made, not to mention that things can—and often do—go wrong. One of the main advantages of traveling with friends is being able to share these things and support each other through the process, even if it’s just someone who will wait with your bag when you go to the bathroom.
Just as your mother always says, it’s true that traveling with others can give you a sense of safety, especially if you’re new to travel. You know that if you get lost or have your wallet stolen, there’s someone to hold your hand when you try to explain your situation in a foreign police station.
There’s no right or wrong way to travel. Whether you travel alone or team up with friends, it depends on you.
117.How does the writer introduce the topic of the passage in Paragraph 1?
A.By telling a story. B.By giving examples.
C.By asking questions. D.By describing a scene.
118.What does the underlined word “it” in Paragraph 3 refer to?
A.Traveling alone. B.Inner strength.
C.Outside influence. D.Traveling with others.
119.Traveling with friends has the following advantages EXCEPT ________.
A.sharing a lot of things B.knowing yourself better
C.getting support easily D.having a sense of safety
120.What’s the structure of the passage?
(①=Paragraph 1 ②=Paragraph 2… )
A. B.
C. D.
Passage30(2023·浙江·中考真题)
Roger Federer, a world-famous sports star, quit(放弃) the 2020 Olympic Games to deal with his knee problem. It was a hard decision because no one wanted to be a quitter. But finding the courage to let go can be good for you.
Nothing is fun all the time. Sticking at something difficult teaches us important skills like perseverance(毅力). However, learning to let go when things aren’t right is important too. Maybe your heart isn’t in playing the piano any more, or you only play football because your friends do and you want to try a different sport instead. Making the decision to walk away can free up time and energy to spend on something you really enjoy. In fact, studies show that letting go of goals you can’t reach, or don’t really want, can build up your confidence and help you lead a happier and healthier life.
But how can you know it’s time to stop and move on? Eric Bean is an expert in sports psychology(心理学) who helps athletes and teams understand their feelings. He says, “Quitting is never a matter of black and white.” He suggests thinking carefully about why you aren’t enjoying something any more. Is it because you’ve argued with a teammate or can’t get on with a new art teacher? Talk about this with a trusted adult or friend. That can help you decide whether you should stay and stick, or quit and move on.
Quitting doesn’t have to mean totally giving up, though. For example, playing an instrument might be more fun if you take away the pressure of exams. If you do decide to give up an activity, Bean suggests picking up another where you can still enjoy things like teamwork, creativity, and exercise.
121.The writer mentions “Roger Federer” in Paragraph 1 to show that ________.
A.we should never give up B.we should get away from trouble
C.it’s all right to stop and quit D.it’s difficult to win Olympic medals
122.According to Paragraph 2, learning to let go is important because we can ________.
A.learn about perseverance B.have enough money to spend
C.live a busier and fuller life D.feel more confident in ourselves
123.By saying the underlined sentence in Paragraph 3, Eric Bean means that ________.
A.it’s not good to stick at things we don’t like
B.we should think twice before quitting an activity
C.we don’t have to take exams to show our true abilities
D.it’s wiser to pick up a new hobby than to keep the old one
124.Which could be the best title for the passage?
A.Knowing When to Stop B.Working Hard to Move on
C.Learning How to Grow up D.Starting Early to Make Changes

Passage1(2025·河北·模拟预测)
In today’s world, social media has influenced the ways we talk to each other, share things, and live our lives. Sometimes it can also make us feel sad, wishing for others’ things and worrying about not being part of the fun. We call it FOMO, short for the fear of missing out.
FOM0 is common, especially among younger people. With just a touch on our phones, we can see the best parts of our friends’ lives. We see them traveling to amazing places, eating delicious food, or doing things that seem hard for us. Seeing this can make us feel like missing out on the fun.

17.What does the underlined word “lavish” in Paragraph 3 mean?
A.Expensive. B.Funny. C.Surprising. D.Lucky.

【答案】23.A 24.C 25.B 26.C

【答案】35.C 36.A 37.D 38.B

A.To explain the purpose of self-care. B.To stress the importance of mindfulness.
C.To introduce a common way of relaxation. D.To show the difficulty in fitting self-care into life.
60.What does the word “consistency” in Paragraph 4 most probably mean?
A.Enjoying what you are doing. B.Finding out what you really need.
C.Keeping a regular practice of an activity. D.Doing different things for your well-being.
61.Which of the following would the writer most probably agree with?
A.We should put our responsibilities before self-care.
B.We should avoid self-judgement while caring for ourselves.
C.The more time we spend on self-care, the more effective it is.
D.Practicing self-care when feeling stressed requires a lot of money.
62.Which of the following would be the best title for the passage?
A.What Is Real Self-Care? B.Why Is Self-Care So Difficult?

With the fast growth of technology (科技), AI has entered our lives and may influence our lives in many ways. It may have good and bad sides.
On the good side, AI may make our life easier. For example, smart home things which are controlled by AI can change the temperature and provide voice service. AI is useful in many jobs too.

B.Spending time on screens is the easiest way to keep people focused.
C.Turning off the notifications on the phone will make people worried.
D.A daily walk does more good to physical health than to mental health.
69.What would be the best title for the passage?

A.Expressing our voices freely. B.Showing our talents to others.

◆ “I think uniforms help students focus on their studies rather than their clothes,” Megan Mannion said. Her school, Rankin Elementary School, has had a uniform policy since 1995.
No!

85.推理判断题。通读第三段尤其是第三句“Research supports the idea that recognizing this disagreement, together with mindfulness and open communication, can help with this process.”可知,作者认为意识到这种分歧,再加上保持警觉,进行坦诚的沟通,可以使人们发生改变。故选C。

You could also help take care of the plants every few days. Surely, a clean and tidy neighborhood will be worth the work.

Remember, the value of you is not decided by your appearance, but by who you are as a person.
97.Why do some people go on extreme diets according to the passage?
A.Because the diets are healthy. B.Because they just want to look good.
C.Because they want to save time. D.Because they want to save money.
98.What is the writer’s purpose of using a question in each paragraph?
A.To ask for help from readers. B.To tell how to spend time and money.

C.It’s convenient for people to read nowadays. D.It’s not easy to find a place to relax after work.

A.Library fines can be stressful to readers.

D.it’s wiser to pick up a new hobby than to keep the old one
