teachers. 二、就近一致原则 谓语动词的单复数形式取决于最靠近它的主语的单复数形式。这种一致关系所依据的原则叫作就近一致原则。 1.由 or, either...or..., neither...nor..., not only...but also..., not...but...等连接的并列主语,谓语动词常与邻近的主语在单复数上保持一致。 ①Not only the students but also the teacher wants to go climbing. 不仅学生们想去爬山,老师也想。 ②Either Mary or you are to blame for the fault. 要么玛丽要么你要为这个过失负责。 2.there be 句型中,谓语动词要和离它最近的主语保持一致。 ①There is a pen, two books and many
