Henry’s Stories Most of O. Henry’s stories are set in the early 20th century, when the whole America experienced the Great Depression(经济大萧条). He praises the human virtues(美德) of ordinary people in his stories who are at the lower class of the society but still strive for success despite this terrible situation and conveys his love and respect to these ordinary people. “The Last Leaf” is one of O.
