Lead-in 1.The teacher plays the video clip from “Frozen”. Students enjoy the song and try to fill in the blanks. 2. Guide Ss to analyze the lyrics and find imperatives. Explain the imperatives. Sa: Don't do sth. Sb: Do sth. Sc: Let sb. do sth. Step 2. Grammar 1.Let Ss observe pictures on PPT and guide them to make sentences. These sentences have the same structure as sentences in grammar box. Then, let ss read the sentences together. Make sure Ss can understand the sentences. 2. Read the sentences in the grammar box and observe the verbs in bold. After that, ask ss to work in groups to find out the rules of modal verbs. 一、祈使句 1.含义:用于表达命令、请求、建议、劝告或者禁止的句子叫祈使句。 2.用法: 省略主语,谓语动词用原形。 3.形式: 肯定形式、否定形式。 肯定形式 Do型: 动词原形开头 Sit down! Be型: Be+名词/ 形容词 Be a good student! Be quiet! Let型: Let+ 宾语+ 动原 Let me help you. Let us watch TV 否定形式 Do型: Don’t+动原 Don’t swim! Be型: Don’t be+名词/形容词 Don’t be noisy! Let型: Don’t let+ 宾语+动原 Don’t let her go! No型: No+动词ing.或名词 No talking! No photos! 二、must与have to的区别 must 主观需要自己想 have to 外界强迫不得不 以must开头的一般疑问句 肯定回答: must 否定回答: needn’t. 或 don’t have to. Step 3. Practice 1.Make sure Ss can understand the instruction and sentences in 3b. Complete the sentences using can, have to / must, or can’t / mustn't. 2. Look at the first sign and read the rules. Then write the rules for the other signs. Do not eat or drink. No eating or drinking. You can't / mustn't eat or drink. 3. Fill in the blanks by using must/ have to. My parents are busy. I _ look after my sister. I like English. I _ study English hard. It rains heavily, so the children _ stay at home. He wants to keep room tidy. He _ clean the room. Step 4. Group Work Let Ss work with their group members to finish activity 3d. They should brainstorm three rules for one of the places and draw signs to show the rules. Share their signs in class and explain what they mean. Step 5. Summary Let the students summarize the key knowledge in the lesson by themselves. Step 6. Homework  (1) Make 5 rules with your partner like 3d. Write them on your exercise book.
