Directed by the famous director Jiaozi (Yang Yu), it continues the exciting story of Ne Zha (哪吒) and Ao Bing (敖丙) from the first movie. After surviving a terrible disaster called the “Heavenly Tribulation (天劫)”, Ne Zha and Ao Bing lost their physical bodies. Their souls were in great danger until Taiyi Zhenren, a wise immortal from Chinese mythology, saved them using a magical seven-colored lotus. However, peace did not last long. Their souls began to disappear again, forcing Taiyi Zhenren to face a difficult task—rebuilding their bodies with limited materials while solving unexpected problems. The film shows remarkable character growth. Ne Zha, once known for his rebellious nature, learns to care deeply for his friends and understand his true self. His friend Ao Bing, who used to struggle with personal troubles, transforms into a brave warrior. In one powerful scene, Ao Bing declares courageously, “If there’s no path, I’ll create one!” Visually, the movie is a feast for the eyes. It begins with thrilling scenes of flowing lava like wild rivers and terrifying sea monsters jumping out of the water, making viewers feel as if they are part of the action. Beyond the action, Ne Zha 2 teaches important life lessons. It encourages people to stay brave when facing difficulties, fight for what is right, and value friendship. These themes resonate with both young and adult audiences. The film has broken box office records, earning an astonishing amount in its first week. Many people praise its perfect mix of cultural elements, exciting storytelling, and positive messages. 19. What happened to Ne Zha and Ao Bing after the “Heavenly Tribulation”? A. They got stronger powers. B. They lost their physical bodies. C. They became best friends immediately. D. They went to live in Kunlun Mountain. 20. Why did Taiyi Zhenren have a difficult task? A. Because their souls started to disappear again and he had to rebuild their bodies with limited materials. D. Because he had to find a way to stop the “Heavenly Tribulation” from happening again. 21. Visually, what made the movie a feast for the eyes at the beginning? A. The beautiful fairies in Kunlun Mountain. B. The fast-paced fighting scenes. C. The flowing lava like wild rivers and terrifying sea monsters jumping out of the water. D. The shape-changing Tianyuan Ding. 22. What important life lesson does “Ne Zha 2” NOT teach? A. To stay brave when facing difficulties. B. To always follow the rules. C To fight for what is right. D. To value friendship. C When I was in fourth grade, I worked part-time as a paperboy. Mrs. Stanley was one of my customers. She’d watch me coming down her street, and by the time I’d biked up to her doorstep, there’d be a cold drink waiting. I’d sit and drink while she talked. Mrs. Stanley talked mostly about her dead husband, “Mr. Stanley and I went shopping this morning,” she’d say. The first time she said that, soda(汽水) went up my nose. I told my father how Mrs. Stanley talked as if Mr. Stanley were still alive. Dad said she was probably lonely, and that I should sit and listen and nod my head and smile, and maybe she’d work it out of her system. So that’s what I did, and it turned out Dad was right. After a while, she seemed to leave her husband over at the cemetery(墓地). I finally stopped delivering newspapers and didn’t see Mrs. Stanley for several years. Then we crossed paths at a church fund-raiser(募捐活动). She was spooning potatoes and looking happy. Four years before, she’d had to offer her paperboy a drink to have someone to talk with. Now she had friends. Her husband was gone, but life went on. I live in the city now, and my newsboy is a lady named Edna with three kids. She asks me how I’m doing. When I don’t say “Fine,” she sticks around to listen to my problems. She’s lived in the city most of her life. She knows about the community. The community isn’t so much a place as it is a state of mind. You find it whenever people ask how you’re doing because they care, and not because they’re getting paid to do so. Sometimes it’s good to just smile, nod your head and listen. 23. Why did soda go up the author’s nose one time? A. Because he was talking fast. B. Because he was shocked. C. Because he was in a hurry. D. Because he was absent-minded. 24. Why did the author sit and listen to Mrs. Stanley according to paragraph 3? A. Because he enjoyed the drink. B. Because he wanted to be helpful. C. Because he took the chance to rest. D. Because he wanted to please his dad. 25. Which of the following can replace the underlined phrase “work it out of her system”? A. go out from her sadness B. move out of the neighborhood C. turn to her old friends D. speak out about her past 26. What does the author think people in a community should do? A. Open up to others. B. Depend on each other. C. Pay for others’ help. D. Care about one another. D Sports provide a great way to understand something about physics. Physics is the study of matter, motion (运动), force (力) and energy. And since sports like soccer, swimming and cycling include bodies moving through space, they can help us understand how physics works. Imagine that you’re looking at a soccer ball on a grassy field. If you do nothing to the ball, it will stay motionless on the grass. If you kick the ball, it will roll along the grass before coming to rest again. Pretty simple, right? For thousands of years, though, people thought that objects like this soccer ball came to rest because they had a natural tendency to stop. It took a famous physicist called Sir Isaac Newton, who lived in the 1600s, to prove that this was not exactly correct. Newton suggested that objects like the soccer ball have a natural tendency to keep moving. The only reason they stop, he believed, is because an unbalanced force acts on them. By an unbalanced force, Newton meant the force is given to the soccer ball by its environment. When kicked, the surface (表面) of the ball travels over the grass, creating friction (摩擦力). The taller the grass and the rougher (粗糙) the surface of the ball, the more friction is created. And the more friction between the ball and the grass, the less it will travel after being kicked. Now, imagine that there is no grass. Instead, the ball is resting on a frozen lake. When you kick the ball on the ice, the ball will go much farther than it would have on the grass. This is because ice provides a lot less friction than the grass. Even so, ice does cause some friction and that will make the ball come to rest again. But now imagine that instead of ice, the ball is in a place where there’s no friction at all. The ball is floating (漂浮) in a vacuum (真空). If you remove friction entirely, kicking the soccer ball would cause it to keep going and going at the same speed, until some force causes it to slow down and stop. To explain Sir Isaac Newton’s idea in a simple way, a soccer ball on the grass will stay where it is unless a force acts on it. Similarly, once you kick the ball, it will remain in motion unless acted on by force. This, in so many words, is known as Newton’s First Law of Motion. 27. The writer mentioned the example of soccer in Paragraph 2 to ________. A. prove soccer is very simple B. encourage us to play soccer on grass C. introduce the idea of motion D. show how much he loves soccer 28. What does the underlined word “tendency” in Paragraph 3 probably mean? A A fifty-fifty chance of something happening. B. The way something usually behaves or acts. C. The fear of doing something or acting in a certain way. D. Something that can stop objects from moving. 29. What can we learn from the passage? A. Objects have a natural tendency to keep moving. B. It’s easier to play soccer on grass than on ice. C. Learning physics helps us play soccer better. D. There is no friction on the ice. 30. Which of the following is the best title for this passage? A. Why is it important for us to learn physics? B. How the soccer can help us understand physics? C. How great the physicist Isaac Newton is! D. How can we play soccer well by using physics knowledge? “Military-style” travel (特种兵式旅行) has become popular among Chinese college students. 1 To save money, they usually take the normal-speed train on a Friday night, arrive at the destination (目的地) city on Saturday morning. 2 On Sunday, they repeat the same busy schedule before returning in time for classes on Monday morning. 【答案】23. B 24. B 25. A 26. A. A fifty-fifty chance of something happening. D How can we play soccer well by using physics knowledge? 【答案】27. C 28. B 29. A 30.
