In the US, in primary schools and high schools, students celebrate “spirit week” in late September. It is a week that we can refresh ourselves and get ready for the rest of the semester. We also call it “homecoming week”, because our families can be allowed to visit our schools during this period.
There are a large number of funny activities held for Spirit Week, such as dancing, kicking a ball, and so on. However, I think the coolest activity in Spirit Week this year was the weird (奇特的) dress show. Spirit Week provides a chance to dress up and show spirit.
We had a special weird dress show every day. Each class had different colors to wear on Monday. On Tuesday you needed to dress like one or more of your friends.
Wednesday was the best day ever—clash day! Everyone wore clothes that . Some students wore one green sock and one red sock at the same time. I saw a student who on the top half was wearing a very formal white shirt and a blue jacket but on the bottom half had tiger print pants.
Thursday was crazy hairdo day. I would never have imagined that someone would wear a very strange colorful wig to class, but that actually happened. I just wore a really small part of a pink wig on my head. I am not that crazy. Friday was a day for the school. We wore something with our school name on it.
This could be the best week in the whole school year. Students need breaks from their studies sometimes. I am eagerly waiting for next year’s Spirit Week.
