本句是全部倒装,介词短语above me位于句首引起全部倒装,正常的语序是“The calm surface of the sea was above me.”。

(2)表示方位或时间的副词(如here、there、now、then、in、out等)位于句首作状语,谓语动词为go、come等表示位移的动态动词时,通常用全部倒装;

August 21 Friday Sunny
It was a day of pure magic! I went diving beneath the ocean near Sanya with my family yesterday morning.The first thing I became aware of was all the vivid colours surrounding me.It is the fantastic corals which were shaped like fans, plates, mushrooms, the branches of trees and the horns of deer that impressed me most.And all kinds of small and elegant fish were swimming in and around the corals.However, some creatures such as sharks were so dangerous that I wasn't permitted to get too close to them.From the experience, I realize that the amazing underwater world is waiting for us to explore.
