Greet the class : Good morning/afternoon , everyone! How are you today? 2. Review : Quickly review previously learnt vocabulary related to animals using flashcards. 3. Lead-in :Today, we're going to explore a new topic-Why do you like animals? Let's get started ！ Step 2 Work on la 1. Show the pictures of some animals. Ask students to say the names. 2. Ask students to write the animal names in the boxes provided. 3. Check answers together. The answers are :A.lion B.penguin C.tiger D.eagle E.wolf F.monkey G.fox H. giraffe Step 3 Work on 1b 1. Tell the class the task in 1b. Predict the three questions: Where are the students? Why are they there? When should they be back? Get the students to guess the answers. 2. Play a short audio clip or give oral instructions, asking students to answer the questions.Encourage students to share their answers, The answers are : (1 )They are at the zoo. Ask the students to predict whether each statement is right or wrong. 2. Play the conversation audio and ask students to circle T or F for each statement. Step 6 Work on Pronunciation 1 -3 1. Introduce the target sounds /er/, /e/, /or/ with example words, Demonstrate how to pronounce each sound correctly. 2. Listen and repeat, Divide students into groups and give them a set of words to practise together. Each group should focus on one sound and add more words to the list. The following words can be added to each group as examples : name , map, wait , day, hall , saw. 3. Play the audio for 2 , asking students to repeat after the recording. 4. Play the audio for 3. Students listen and repeat. Pay attention to the stress and unstressed syllables.
