Step 2 Work on 1a 1.Ask students to look at the rules in 1a and tick the ones that their school has. 2.Share and discuss the answers,asking students to explain why their school has or doesn’t have certain rules. Step 3 Work on 1b-1c 1.Play the first part of the recording for the first time.Ask students to listen carefully and tick the rules that are mentioned. 2.Check the answers and play the recording again for students to listen and repeat the sentences with the rules. 3.Play the recording once more.This time,ask students to complete the sentences while listening. 4.Check the answers together and explain some difficult points. Step 4 Work on 1d 1.Play the second part of the recording.Ask students who the speaker is and what rules she talks about.Tick them in 1a. 2.Check the answers. Step 5 Work on 1e 1.Divide students into pairs.Let them talk about the rules in 1c,making sure to use the correct modal verbs. 2.Invite several pairs to act out their conversations in front of the class.
