Unit5 Amazing Animals
Animals are fascinating creatures, and each one has its own special abilities. Let’s learn about some of them!
Insects are small but very strong. For example, an ant can lift things that are many times its own weight. Worker ants work together to carry food back to their hole. Honeybees are also hard-working. They collect honey from flowers and use their wings to fly back to their hive. Did you know that a honeybee can visit up to 1,000 flowers in one day?
Some animals have special tricks to survive. A snail carries its home on its back, and if it feels afraid, it can hide inside its shell. A snake uses its tongue to “taste” the air and find food. The tip of its tongue is very sensitive. Bats use radar to fly safely in the dark. They make sounds that bounce off objects, and the echo helps them know where to go.
Birds are also amazing. A parrot can copy human sounds and even say words! Its loud noise can cheer people up. A butterfly has beautiful wings, but it starts its life as a tiny egg. When it wakes up, it becomes a caterpillar and then turns into a butterfly.
Some animals are great at looking after each other. Giraffes have long necks to reach leaves high up in trees. They live in groups and care for their young. Guinea pigs are small and round, and they make a purring sound when they are happy. They don’t like to be lonely, so they need friends.
Pets like goldfish and cats are also special. A goldfish can remember things for a long time, and it’s not afraid of being touched gently. A cat has soft fur and can purr when it’s happy. Cats are good at fighting, but they also love to sleep in warm corners.
Animals are not just useful to humans; they are also our friends. We should care for them and protect their relationships with nature. Whether it’s a hard-working ant, a clever bat, or a cheerful parrot, every animal has a role to play in the world.
Unit6 Our Amazing Planet
Our planet is full of wonders, from the highest mountains to the deepest oceans. About 70% of the Earth’s surface is covered by water, but there are also deserts, forests, and plains. Each of these places has its own beauty and challenges.
The ocean is home to many creatures, like fish, whales, and sharks. It also helps produce the oxygen we breathe. But the ocean can also be powerful. During a flood, it can destroy everything in its path. On the other hand, deserts are mostly dry and covered with sand. Very few plants and animals can survive there because of the hot conditions.
Forests are full of life. They are home to trees, birds, and many other animals. Forests also help keep the air clean by producing oxygen. In the northern parts of the world, like the Arctic, the land is cold and covered with ice. But even there, animals like the Arctic char can survive.
Some places on Earth are very unusual. For example, in the north-west, there are sandstone rocks that have strange forms. They look like they were shaped by a giant hand. Waterfalls are another wonder. The water falls from a high place, creating a beautiful rainbow when the sun shines.
The rainforest is a special kind of forest. It is very wet and has many tall trees. Clouds often cover the sky, and the air feels fresh. At sunrise, the rainforest looks like a wonderland.
People also enjoy exploring nature. Some go camping and sit around a campfire at night. They might cook corn or tell stories. Others take a cable car to see the landforms from above. For those who love adventure, there are paths that lead to amazing views. Some even stay overnight to watch the stars.
Our planet is a wonderful place. It has huge mountains, flat plains, and powerful oceans. Every step we take shows us something new. Let’s take care of it so that it remains a home for all living things.
Unit7 An Adventure in the Countryside
Last weekend, I had an amazing experience in the countryside. My friends and I decided to set off early in the morning for a day of hiking and birdwatching. We packed our backpacks with a picnic lunch, sleeping bags, and other essentials like a camera, binoculars, and some medicine for safety.
At first, the path was narrow, and we had to walk carefully to keep our balance. Little by little, we got used to the trail and started to enjoy the beautiful views. The forest was quiet, and we could hear birds singing clearly. We even saw a few deer running through the trees!
By noon, we reached a small campsite where we decided to take a break. We rolled out our sleeping bags and had a relaxing picnic. My friend brought a camera, and we took lots of photos of the landscape. After lunch, we continued our hike, following a trail that led to a waterfall. The sound of the water was so calming, and we felt relaxed.
Later in the afternoon, we tried birdwatching with our binoculars. We saw many different birds, and it was exciting to find out their names using an app. My friend, who is a first-time camper, was a little worried at first, but she soon felt more comfortable. She even said she wanted to try horse riding or skiing next time!
As the sun began to set, we headed back to the campsite. We built a small campfire and shared stories about our childhood. It was a perfect way to end the day. Before we fell asleep, we made sure to focus on safety by checking our medicine and keeping the fire under control.
The next morning, we packed up and set off for home. We were all proud of ourselves for completing the hike and enjoying nature. It was an enjoyable trip, and I can’t wait to do it again. If you ever get the chance, I highly recommend spending time in the countryside. It’s a great way to relax and focus your mind.
Unit8 The Fisherman’s Adventure
Once upon a time, there was a fisherman named Tom. He lived in a small village by the sea with his partner, a clever cat named Mia. One day, while Tom was fishing, he found a magic paintbrush floating in the water. It was no ordinary brush—it was magical! Whatever Tom painted with it would come to life.
Tom decided to test the brush. He painted a small fish, and suddenly, the fish jumped out of the painting and into his boat! Excited, Tom painted a boat for himself and a factory for the villagers. Soon, the village became a busy company town, and everyone was happy.
But one day, a god from the sea noticed Tom’s magical brush. The god wanted it for himself, so he sent a series of challenges to Tom. First, he locked Tom in a low cave by the shore. Tom tried to fit through the small opening, but it was too narrow. Just as he was about to give up, Mia noticed a walking stick nearby. She used it to unlock the cave, and Tom was free!
Next, the god created a fantasy world filled with fairies and characters from classic stories. Tom had to solve a task to escape. He painted a key with his brush and unlocked the door to the real world. Finally, the god challenged Tom to a race. Tom painted a horse, but the god was too fast. Just as Tom was about to fail, Mia jumped onto the horse and helped him reach the finish line first.
In the end, the god admitted defeat and returned to the sea. Tom and Mia continued to use the magic paintbrush to help their village. They painted hospitals for the sick and schools for the children. The villagers were proud of Tom and Mia, and they lived happily ever after.
