Now more and more children seem to get lost in a “sea of digital technology (数字科技)”. As they use digital technology too much, they are losing their ability to do simple things. They can’t make toys themselves with hands or help mum cook dinner. And worst of all, they seem to be losing interest in communicating with (交流) others.
“I have talked with a number of teachers. They care about the increasing (增长的) numbers of children who can play with computers or smart phones, but have few or no skills to play with making things.” said a Teacher, Colin Kinney. “Many children can’t communicate with other children but their parents are proud of their ability to use a computer or a smart phone.”
Instead of playing with other children, more and more children are choosing to stay indoors and quietly play on a tablet (平板电脑) on weekends and after school. How can a child grow up to be a very good artist if he doesn’t learn how to use a paintbrush and develop his painting skill? How can a child learn to make friends as he gets older if he doesn’t learn to communicate with others at a young age?
Digital technology can be used for good or bad. We can use a stone to break a window or build a house. We shouldn’t blame the children. We should help them make right choices. It’s necessary for children to know how to use digital technology in today’s world, but what is more important, we should encourage them to develop social abilities, which will be useful to them when they grow up.
29.What’s the worst problem in the first paragraph?
A.Children can’t make things themselves. B.Children make too many friends online.
C.Children don’t want to communicate with others. D.Children don’t like helping Mum cook meals at home.
30.According to Colin Kinney, which of the following is TRUE?
A.Teachers don’t notice that children have few skills to make things.
B.Many parents are very happy that their kids can use digital technology.
C.Many teachers don’t care if children can play computers or tablets.
D.Some parents are worried that their kids use digital technology too much.
31.What does the underlined word “blame” mean in Chinese?
A.表扬 B.原谅 C.评价 D.责怪
32.What does the writer mainly want to tell us?
A.It’s very important for children to have social skills.
B.It’s very helpful for children to do some housework.
C.It’s necessary for parents to learn to use digital technology.
D.It’s difficult for teachers to make right choices for their children.

31.词句猜测题。根据“We shouldn’t blame the children. We should help them make right choices.”可知,不能责怪孩子们,而是要帮助他们做出正确的选择,所以划线单词blame表示“责怪”,故选D。
32.主旨大意题。根据全文及“but what is more important, we should encourage them to develop social abilities, which will be useful to them when they grow up”可知,作者认为要培养孩子们的社交技能,这对他们的成长有好处,故选A。
C
US company SpaceX successfully completed its fifth test flight of Starship on Oct 13. This helped SpaceX get closer to making rockets (火箭) that can be reused.
The 122-meter-tall Starship has two parts: the Starship spacecraft and the Super Heavy rocket. The rocket’s 33 engines (引擎) gave Starship a strong push. About seven minutes after launch (发射), the two parts separated at around 70 kilometers above Earth. Then, the rocket’s booster (助推器) made itself “stand up” in the air and started to fall slowly. At that time, two big mechanical arms from the launch tower, like “chopsticks”, “caught” the booster.
Starship is the world’s most powerful rocket ever made. It is made to send astronauts to the moon, Mars and further. SpaceX’s engineers have been working on it and testing it for many years. They made sure both the booster and the tower met thousands of standards. If standards have not been met, the booster would have been directed to drop in the Gulf of Mexico.
SpaceX has been growing quickly since it started in 2002. This is partly thanks to its “fail fast, learn fast” working style. For example, Starship’s first three test flights failed because of problems like explosions (爆炸) or losing contact. However, these failures helped engineers get data (数据) and make progress. This is different from the traditional way organizations like NASA operate. They spend a lot of time planning for possible problems before a launch.
SpaceX already plans to do a sixth flight, which will probably happen soon.
33.What is the news mainly about?
A.Starship is the most powerful rocket in the world.
B.The fifth test flight of Starship is successful.
C.SpaceX starts to make reusable rockets.
D.Engineers in SpaceX work in a new way.
34.Which is the correct order of what will happen 7 minutes after Starship is launched?
①Its booster will be caught by the mechanical arms.
②Its spacecraft and rocket will separate.
③Its rocket’s booster will “stand up” in the air.
④Its booster started to fall slowly.
A.③②①④ B.②④③① C.②③④① D.③②①④
35.Which of the following is NOT TRUE according to the news?
A.The Starship may send astronauts to Mars some day.
B.The Starship test flight has failed three times.
C.SpaceX’s engineers have worked on the Starship hard and carefully.
D.SpaceX’s engineers have worked on the Starship for one year.
36.What do the engineers of SpaceX think of “failures” according to paragraph 4?
A.Terrible. B.Wonderful. C.Helpful. D.Meaningless.
【答案】33.B 34.C 35.D 36.C
【导语】本文主要介绍了“星舰”的第五次试飞成功。
33.主旨大意题。根据“US company SpaceX successfully completed its fifth test flight of Starship on Oct 13. This helped SpaceX get closer to making rockets (火箭) that can be reused.”可知,本文主要是围绕“星舰”的第五次试飞成功展开的,因此这则新闻是关于“星舰”的第五次试飞成功的。故选B。
34.细节理解题。根据“About seven minutes after launch (发射), the two parts separated at around 70 kilometers above Earth. Then, the rocket’s booster (助推器) made itself ‘stand up’ in the air and started to fall slowly. At that time, two big mechanical arms from the launch tower, like ‘chopsticks’, ‘caught’ the booster.”
根据“SpaceX’s engineers have been working on it and testing it for many years.”可知,工程师们已经工作了很多年了,因此D选项表达有误。故选D。
36.推理判断题。根据“However, these failures helped engineers get data (数据) and make progress.”可推知,这些“失败”对工程师们来说是有帮助的。故选C。
D
Travel is fun and exciting, but it’s not if you get sick. You may think, “Not me, I won’t get sick on my vacation.” But for many people, that is what happens. Of course you don’t want to spend your vacation sick in bed. So what can you do to stay in good health? There are three things you should remember when you travel: relax, sleep and eat well.
A vacation should be a time for relaxing. But very often it is not. Think about what you do when you are a tourist. There are so many places to visit: museums, shops, parks and churches. You may spend most days walking around these places. You may be very tired. Your feet may hurt and you may have a terrible headache after a few hours. If this is the way you feel, you should take a rest. Don’t ask your body to do too much. A tired body means a weak body. And a weak body gets sick easily. So sit down for a few hours in a nice place. In good weather, look for a quiet park chair or you can stop at a corner. You can learn a lot by watching people while you rest.
Sleep is also important. If you want to stay healthy, you need to get enough sleep. You may have trouble sleeping at night when you travel. Your hotel room may be noisy or the bed may be uncomfortable. If this is true, don’t be afraid to change rooms or hotels, or you may not get enough sleep. You may want to stay out late at night. In many cities the nightlife can be very interesting. Then you should plan to sleep for an hour during the day. That extra hour can make a big difference.
Finally, if you want to stay healthy, you must eat well. That means eating the right kinds of food. Your body needs fresh fruits and vegetables, and some meat, milk or cheese. When you are in a new country, you may want to try new food but you need to be careful about how much you eat. Lots of rich food is not good for you.
37.This passage is mainly about ________.
A.relaxing when you travel B.how exciting travel is
C.what to eat when you travel D.how to stay healthy when you travel
38.Travelling around can be ________.
A.no fun B.unhealthy C.very tiring D.the best way to relax
39.It’s a good idea to ________ when travelling.
A.get some rest every day B.change hotels
C.spend every night in hotels D.try a lot of rich food
40.According to the passage, which of the following statements is true?
A.If you want to stay healthy, you must eat much.
B.Your body needs lots of rich food when you travel.
C.When you are in a new country, you may try all new food.
D.If you want to enjoy your vacation, eating the right kinds of food is necessary.

OpenAI has once again surprised the world with its latest AI tool, Sora. 41 Just give it some text instructions, like “a Chinese New Year celebration”, and you’ll get a video that matches the description. Many people worry that the tool will put many filmmakers out of business.
42 Many people are afraid that industries (产业) such as translation, teaching and design will all disappear (消失). It seems we can use AI to do anything.

You also need to exercise your imagination (想象力) more actively. Take the Chinese New Year celebration video in Paragraph 1 for example. 44 You need to describe your instructions with more details, such as time, places and persons.
45 After an AI tool gives you an answer, you need to decide if all the information is correct by yourself. To do this, you need at least some basic knowledge about the subjects.
If you think AI gives you a chance of being lazy, it’s time to stop daydreaming. Work harder on your studies, and you’ll be better prepared to work with AI.
A.You can’t depend on Sora for everything.
B.And remember that AI can make mistakes.
C.In fact, AI may need you to learn more.

49 makes T-Flight so fast? It travels inside a special path that doesn’t have much air in it. With less air in the way, the train moves without slowing down, 50 it can move really fast. Moreover, T-Flight uses maglev technology (磁悬浮技术). It means it runs above the track (轨道) without touching it. This helps the train move 51 (smooth) without any friction (摩擦).
T-Flight will make a great difference to China’s business in the future. People and 52 (company) in big cities will choose it 53 (meet) and talk with each other. It will also work with other high-speed trains and planes to make a bigger travel network. This will make traveling around China even 54 (easy) and bring new ways for businesses and tours.
In short, T-Flight is a new high-speed train that will change 55 way we travel and do business in China. With its fast speed, it’s sure to become very popular soon.

C.It’s necessary for parents to learn to use digital technology.
D.It’s difficult for teachers to make right choices for their children.

Does that mean we no longer need to work hard to learn knowledge and skills ourselves? Well, the answer is “No!” Even in the age of AI, knowledge is still power. 43 AI knows a lot, but for now at least, it needs instructions. In other words, you must communicate with it.
