Do you know what you should call those who use towels (毛巾) but never wash them, eat meals but never do the dishes, sit in rooms but never clean? If your answer is, “a house guest (房客)”, you’re wrong, because I just described my kids.

C
It is not an easy job to be a good parent. Here I’d like to share something with other parents.
I have learned that little kids are dogs, while teenagers are cats. It’s easy to be a dog owner. You feed it and train it, and it will put its head on your knee gently. Whenever you call it, it will run to you with great warmth.
Then around age 13, your lovely little puppy turns into a big old cat. When you ask it to come inside, it looks surprised, wondering why you give such an order. It may turn its nose up at the meal you’re offering.
When you reach out to touch its head, it will stay away from you, as if trying to hide its own secrets.
The kid now is not a dog any more. It thinks something in a totally different way. It seems so strange. Maybe it even doesn’t want to go out with its family members.
You may think that you’ve done something wrong, because you are the one who raises (抚养) it and stays with it all the time. Filled with guilt (内疚) and fear, you make an effort (努力) to make your pet under your control (控制), but the result always turns out (结果是) to be disappointing.
Instead of being like a dog owner, you should learn to act like a cat owner. Put a dish of food near the door, and let it come to you. But remember that a cat also needs your heal (治愈) and your love. You need to tell it there is a door which is always open for it.
One day, your grown-up child will walk into the kitchen, give you a big kiss and say, “Let me get those dishes for you.”
27. From Paragraph 2, we can know that ________.
A.kids always like to stay with dogs
B.it’s easy to teach and train a child if he is smart
C.little kids will show their kindness to us if we care for them
28. The sentence “It may turn its nose up at the meal you’re offering.” tells us that the cat ______.
A.tries checking out what its owner likes best
B.wants to check things first before it
C.has a good habit of smelling before eating
29. Which one is TRUE according to the passage?
A.Parents always think of their own mistakes first when their kids change.
B.Teenagers will never follow their parents’ advice
C.Dogs and cats are always difficult to feed.
30. This passage mainly talks about ________.
A.how to feed dogs and cats
B.the changing relationship between children and parents
C.what is the most important thing for parents

根据“Then around age 13, your lovely little puppy turns into a big old cat. When you ask it to come inside, it looks surprised, wondering why you give such an order.”以及“When you reach out to touch its head, it will stay away from you, as if trying to hide its own secrets.”
根据“It thinks something in a totally different way. It seems so strange.”和“You may think that you’ve done something wrong, because you are the one who raises (抚养) it and stays with it all the time.” 故选A。

Dear Emma,
Your problem is like 46 circle. The harder you study, the 47 (little)time you have to make friends and the less friendly you look to your classmates. The fewer friends you have, the harder you study to make 48 (you) feel better.
Try to break this bad circle. Perhaps you are afraid of meeting new people, 49 you are too shy or too serious 50 (begin) a conversation. You are not someone who has a fun side to his character. Push your shy side away and show your classmates how much fun you can be.
Look at your classmates. Try to find out whether or not there are any people with whom you feel you have a lot 51 common. First, smile at your 52 (classmate). Do this as often as you can, until your classmates become used to your smiles and smile in return.
Next, talk to your classmates. Do this in classes or during your lunch break. You may find it easier to start by talking to people when they are alone.
Perhaps you could ask a classmate about your studies. They are likely to respond (回应)in a very positive way. People like to feel important and 53 (help). It must be someone else in your class who is also quiet. It might be easier to try to talk with him or her.
Your problem is mainly about confidence Smile first, talk next and 54 (slow) you will make friends. Once you have more confidence, you can make as many friends 55 you want.

46.a 47.less 48.yourself 49.because 50.to begin
51.in 52.classmates 53.helpful 54.slowly 55.as
根据“the harder you study to make... feel better”,可知,你越努力学习,就会使自己感觉更好,所以此空填反身代词yourself“你自己”,故填yourself。
固定搭配:too...to“太……而不能……”,故填to begin。
51.句意:试着找出是否有你觉得和你有很多共同点的人。根据“there are any people with whom you feel you have a lot...common”,可知,此空表示“有许多共同点”,英语表达是have a lot in common,故填in。
根据“you can make as many friends ... you want”,可知,此处表示“你可以交到如你所想的许多朋友”,用as...as表示“如……一样”,故填as。
第三节 (共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)
阅读下面的短文,并回答问题
Feeling shy around your new friends? Playing some icebreaking games can help you get to know each other better. Give it a try!
Describe Yourself
The first player should use one word to describe himself or herself. The first letter of this word should be the same as the first letter in his or her name. Henry, for example, can call himself “Happy Henry”. The next players should say their own name combination (组合) as well as the name combinations of all the players in front of them.
Ten Fingers
Players should hold up all ten fingers. One by one, they can say one fact about themselves. One could possibly say, for example, “I can swim.” The other players who can’t swim should then put down one finger. When a player puts down all ten fingers, he or she loses the game.
Who Am I?
Each player is randomly (随机地) given a card with someone else’s name on it. The card should be taped to the player’s forehead (额头). This way, the player can’t see whose name is written on it. This name becomes his or her new identity (身份). Players can ask others “yes or no” questions about themselves. For example, one may ask, “Do I have long hair?” Players should use the answers to guess who they are.
56.Why do people play the icebreaking games?
57.What should the second player do while playing “Describe Yourself”?
58.How can we tell if a player loses the game of “Ten Fingers”?
59.Where should the card be taped when playing “Who Am I”?

In our daily life, many teenagers have problems with their parents. For example, my friend Tom often complains that his parents don't allow him to play computer games, even on weekends. They think it's a waste of time, but Tom just wants to relax after a busy week. Another problem is that they seldom have heart-to-heart talks. His parents are always busy with work and don't have much time for him.
To improve this situation, first, both parents and children should make time to communicate. They can have a family meeting every week to share their feelings. Second, parents should respect their children's hobbies and give them some freedom. Third, when there is a disagreement, they should solve it calmly through discussion.
In my opinion, a good relationship between parents and children can bring warmth and happiness. We should all work hard to achieve it.

What do mothers think of housework? Let’s read the following ideas.
Laura
We don’t like housework, but at the same time, we hope to have a clean and comfortable home. I learn from my neighbor Teresa. She says, “You don’t have to do everything right away, but ‘do small things with great love. ‘Start with the easy ones, rest, and then go on with others. It becomes less tiring but much more interesting when you divide (分成) things to smaller parts.”
Mona
Do you know what you should call those who use towels (毛巾) but never wash them, eat meals but never do the dishes, sit in rooms but never clean? If your answer is, “a house guest (房客)”, you’re wrong, because I just described my kids.
Mary
My kids seem to learn to use the computer and turn on the TV quickly. However, they have difficulty in using the vacuum cleaner (吸尘器). It is really amazing.

How to Develop a Good Parent and Child Relation
The relation between a parent and a child is the most important in a child’s life. It can make a difference to the child’s life much. Positive relations can help children grow healthily and successfully. Here are some ways to help you build a good relation.
Get used to their way. If you learn more about their ideas and opinions, you will communicate or play with them in their way. This will help you get close easily. You can communicate with them freely and find the world in their heart through playing games on the floor instead of at the dinner table.
Make good use of family time. You must make family time a regular (有规律的) and special part of your life. Then your children can know you accept and respect them. You can eat meals together most nights of the week. You can also share sports events, movies and other events.
Join in children’s school. If you have some free time, volunteer in the children’s school. Then you can know more about your children at school. You can also sit near them when they do homework. This will make them better at schoolwork.
Build trust. It’s important for you and your children to believe in each other. You can make them know they can trust you. When you plan to do something, you must finish it. You will set a good example for them.
Listen to children. If children are complaining (抱怨) about school, you must listen to them. Then they will know you are important and trust you. You also need to leave your mobile phone and TV and look at children’s eyes. Then you can give your opinions and ideas to them in time.
23.How can parents get used to children’s way?
A.By reading the same book with them.
B.By playing games with them on the floor.
C.By finishing something after planning.
24.What do parents share sports events with children for?
A.To listen to children.
B.To make good use of family time.
C.To join in children’s school life.
25.What will happen if parents sit close to their children when they do homework?
A.Children can get good grades.
B.Children can know better about parents.
C.Children will love parents more.
26.What can parents do if they leave their mobile phone and TV and listen to their children?
A.They can show love to their children.
B.They can show an interest in their children.
C.They can give their ideas in time.

Dear Emma,
Your problem is like 46 circle.
