When I was in high school, I was 32 to join in a teaching activity. During this, we worked with the students in Grade 9 and helped them prepare 33 high school. What’s more, we helped them with homework if they needed, and taught them how to deal with hard situations. To them, we were teachers. It was a special 34 in my life, and I’d never 35 the feeling I got when one student of mine who was shy broke out of her comfort zone (舒适区). The next two years when I saw her in the school, she’d 36 smile (微笑) and say hello. This made me feel great 37 I felt like I had made a difference.
At the same time, this experience also helped me a lot. I broke out of my comfort zone. Being put in a situation like this pushed 38 to be more outgoing and patient. Working with them still helped me to better myself and improve my teaching skills. I also knew the ways to 39 the students. I could be their teacher as well as their friend.
Teaching is something that I have always wanted to do, and I know that I always will. The 40 of helping people and knowing that I have made a difference in someone’s life will make everything worthwhile (有价值的) to me.

Zhao Li, 51, loves butterflies. He set up the largest insect (昆虫) museum in Asia-the Insect Museum of West China.
Zhao’s story with butterflies started in his childhood. In his early years, he often made butterfly specimens (标本) with the help of his parents. In high school, he held his first specimen exhibition (展览).
Zhao’s love for butterflies is almost crazy. During his college years, he went into the forests of western Sichuan every summer. In 1991, the then 19-year-old travelled over 500 kilometers on his bike. He lived in farmhouses, ate dry food, and sometimes even slept in temples (寺庙) or on big rocks along the way.
Finally, he discovered (发现) a new butterfly species-Lethe bipupilla (舜目黛眼蝶). According to Hongxing News, this was the first time that a new butterfly species in Sichuan had been discovered by a Chinese person.
During his trips, Zhao almost died. In 1992, he came across a mudslide in Mount Gongga, Sichuan province. But a tree got in the way of a big rock coming toward him and saved him.
However, dangerous times like that didn’t stop him from looking for butterflies. To find the nationally protected Teinopalpus aureus (金斑喙凤蝶), Zhao camped for seven days on the highest mountain in southern Hainan. He became the first person in China to take a close-up photo of this butterfly species.
Zhao is called “Prince Butterfly”. But he said, “I am not a prince, just someone who loves insects.”

Modern China, like most of the countries in the world, uses the Gregorian calendar as its primary way of keeping time through the year. That means January 1 in Paris is also January 1 in Beijing. However, the traditional Chinese lunisolar (日与月的) calendar plays a necessary role in modern Chinese society.
Often mistakenly seen as a lunar calendar (月历), the traditional Chinese calendar is in fact lunisolar. The lunar calendar follows the moon’s synodic orbit (天体运行的轨道). It takes the moon 29.53 days to finish one full orbit around the earth. The year is then divided into 12 lunar months, which only adds up to 354 days each year, about 11 days short of the actual time it takes the earth to finish one full orbit around the sun. The Chinese add a 13th month to their traditional calendar about once every four years, that is, a leap year (闰月). So the traditional Chinese lunisolar calendar is a hybrid timekeeping way that considers both the moon’s orbit around the earth and the earth’s 365-day orbit around the sun.
The Gregorian calendar is the official calendar in China. It tells people holidays such as Labor Day, Chinese National Day, and the international New Year. However, the Chinese calendar still plays an important role in everyday life. It tells people the traditional Chinese holidays such as the Lantern Festival, Tomb-Sweeping Day, Mid-Autumn Festival, and, of course, the Chinese New Year.

A.重要的 B.常见的 C.混合的 D.完整的
51.According to the passage, which of the following is TRUE?
A.All countries in the world use the Gregorian calendar.

C.It takes about 354 days for the moon to finish one full orbit around the earth.
D.Only people in China use the lunisolar calendar.

Every afternoon, as they were coming from school, the children used to go and play in the Giant’s garden.
It was a large lovely garden, with soft green grass, beautiful flowers and twelve peach-trees. The birds sat on the trees and sang so sweetly that the children used to stop their games to listen to them. “How happy we are here!” they cried to each other.
One day the Giant came back and saw the children playing in the garden.
“What are you doing here?” he cried in a very unfriendly voice, and the children ran away.
“My own garden is my own garden,” said the Giant, “I will allow nobody to play in it but myself.” So he built a high wall all round it.
He was a very selfish (自私的) Giant.
The poor children had nowhere to play. They had to wander (徘徊) round the high wall and talk about the beautiful garden inside. “How happy we were there,” they said to each other.
Months later, “I cannot understand why the Spring is so late in coming,” said the Selfish Giant as he sat at the window and looked out at his cold white garden; “I hope there will be a change in the weather.”
______ The Autumn gave golden fruit to every garden, but to the Giant’s garden she gave none. So it was always Winter there.

What did he see?
Through a little hole in the wall the children had crept (爬) in, and they were sitting in the branches (枝头) of the trees. They birds were flying about and the flowers were looking up through the green grass and laughing.

①For better sleep, people often ask if they should share their bed with a pet. Before we get to that, let’s think about the other side: Is sleeping with you good for your pet?
②“In a word, it is a very good thing for animals to sleep with their people.” said Dr. Dana Varble, the chief veterinary (兽医学) officer for the North American Veterinary Community.
③According to Varble, pets who share their human’s bed may have a “higher trust level and a closer relationship with the humans that are in their lives”. Also, sharing beds with humans is good for pets’ health, including increases in oxytocin (催产素) and dopamine (多巴胺).
④Then, is it good for you to sleep with a pet? Experts have traditionally said no because you might not get a good sleep. “Sleep of dogs (and cats) is not continuous (连续的) and they will get up and walk on the bed, stepping on people. That may stop people’s sleep,” said Dr. Vsevolod Polotsky, a professor at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
⑤But recent studies have shown that pets in the bedroom could be good for people with depression (抑郁) or anxiety because they can make those people feel better.
⑥Although the new science has told us good news, we still need to think twice about bringing our dogs, cats or indoor pigs into our beds. “It is bad for people with insomnia (失眠) or for patients with other sleep disorders,” Polotsky said.
56.Why do experts think sleeping with a pet is not good for people?
A.It may be bad for the relationship between pets and their people.
B.Pets may awake people from sleep by walking on the bed or stepping on people.
C.Pets in the bedroom could make people with depression or anxiety feel better.
D.It could cause insomnia for old people or patients.
57.What is the best title for the passage?
A.Do You Want to Keep a Pet? B.Is It good to Sleep with a Pet?
C.Should Animals Sleep with People? D.Is Your Pet good for Sleep?
58.Sharing bed with a pet may be good for ______.
A.An animal lover with depression. B.An old man with insomnia.
C.A child tired of noise. D.An adult with heart problems.
