预习教材Page 13,熟读并理解1a中的句子和1b中的词汇。
二、预习检测
根据首字母及汉语提示补全单词
1.Can you help me to repair (修理) my bike?
2.What’s the matter with the wheels (轮子) of your car?
3.Judy is very sad because of her broken (破损的) friendship.
4.There is something wrong with our washing machine.We should fix (修理) it up.
课堂教学
Step 1 Leading in
1.Greet the class.
2.Show a picture to the students.(There is a man fixing up a bike in the picture.) Ask a question:What’s the man doing?Then help the students to answer the question with the phrase “fix up”.
Step 2 Work on 1a-1b
1.Ask the students to read the sentences in 1a and match them.
2.Check the answers.
3.Let the students look up the phrases in the dictionary and write down their meanings.Then the teacher further explains the usage of the phrases.
4.Have the students match the phrasal verbs with the nouns in 1b.Then make sentences with the phrases.
5.Get some students to share their sentences and translate them.
6.Check the answers with the whole class.
Step 3 Work on 1c-1d
1.Ask the students to look at the pictures in 1c to understand what happened in the pictures.
2.Play the recording.Let the students listen and number the pictures in the correct order.
3.Check the answers.
4.Play the recording again to circle True or False in 1d.
5.Play the recording for a third time to check the answers.
Step 4 Work on 1e
1.Make the students role⁃play a conversation in pairs using the information in 1c and 1d.In this part,student A will be Jimmy,and student B will be the reporter.As they talk,move around to offer language or pronunciation support as needed.
2.Have several groups of the students present their conversations to the class.
