Step II Talking about robots 1.Have you seen robots in the films? 2.What kind of robots do you know? 3.Do you like robots? Why? 4. What do you think robots can do for you? 5. Would you buy a robot in the fuure? Why? Step III Welcome to the unit 1.The purpose of this part is to tell students the knowledge about robots. Ask one student to read the phrases a-d on P37.Make sure that all students understand the meanings of the phra-ses such as"do dangerous jobs,explore outer space,ete". 2. Explain the context. Daniel is explaining to Amy what ro-bots can do. Ask students to underline the things that robot can do for us on their own. 3. Ask two students to read the conversation and check mis-takes. 4. Encourage students to talk about the robots according to the pictures. (1)In what ways do robots can help human beings? (2)Why are they sometimes useful to human beings? Step IV Comic strip 1.Listen to the tape for the first time to learn the main idea of Cornic strip. 2.Ask students to answer some questions, (1)How does Eddie feel about his robot? (He's not satisfied with it.) (2)What will Eddie do with his robot? (He'll complain to the robot shop.) 3.Listen to the tape for the second time and read after it. 4. Ask some students to act out Comic strip. Step V Discussion T:Imagine you have a robot and it helps you a lot while you are away. But sometimes it also brings you some unexpected troubles,such as it can't wwake you up at the right time,it does wrong shopping,it forgets to sweep the floor. At this time,what will you do? Divide the whole class into ten groups to talk about how to solve these problems. Step M Language points 1.complaint,不可数名词,“抱怨”;可数名词,“抱怨的行动或话语,投诉”。 complain;动词,complain to sb/about sth. 2.post;动词,“邮寄”,post sth for sb。 Step M Homework 1.
