Educators are worried that students may not build essential skills if it becomes too easy to misrepresent machine-generated work as their own. In addition to concerns that such use may contribute to cheating, it’s also known that AI can provide misinformation that may mislead students. As a result, many schools have banned (禁止) generative AI completely. But is that reasonable? The answer is no, says Sebastian Rao, a Virginia STEM school senior. Instead, he supports AI policies that make the technology accessible to students and educators but provide appropriate edges. “How do we structure a classroom that uses AI?” asks Rao. He says the focus should be to thoughtfully integrate (合并) AI technology in classrooms so that students can use it to enhance their education and build new skills. When schools place strict bans on AI, students may be confused and unsure about what they can and can’t use. Many students use AI in ways educators didn’t consider, worsening the problem of managing their use in the classroom. Meanwhile, the technology is evolving quickly and becoming integrated into an ever-growing range of tools. Academic tools like Grammarly now use AI, as do search engines like Google and Bing. Khan Academy recently built a free AI-powered app, Khanmigo, to provide one-on-one homework help to students who may not otherwise have access to a live tutor “A lot of students don’t really know what to think about a lot of these technologies. Some are confused about ‘What does AI mean? Is it cheating in certain cases?’” explains Rao. Rather than viewing the use of AI as cheating, the U. S. Department of Education is integrating AI into policy because the technology allows educators to support students with a valuable, personalized approach to learning. Knowing how to use AI effectively and properly will be necessary for students’ future development. 12.Why do many schools ban AI completely? A.AI may offer much information. B.AI may cause students a lot of worry. C.AI may destroy students’ essential skills. D.AI may weaken students’ study performance. 13.What is Sebastian Rao’s opinion on AI in education? A.Schools should refuse AI technology. B.Educators should build their AI skills. C.Schools should establish clear guidelines. D.Educators should enhance their education. 14.What may the ban on AI at school result in? A.Rapid evolution of AI. B.Students’ confusion about AI. C.Popularity of a live tutor. D.Educators’ interest in technology. 15.What is the U.S. Department of Education’s attitude towards AI? A.Unclear. B.Worried. C.Favorable. D.Negative. Without goals, you may feel like wandering through life without a plan, purpose, or sense of direction. You should break the goal down into a set of actionable steps you can take. ____19____ Besides, it’s beneficial to make a list of outcomes or specific milestones that will indicate progress. Take small, consistent (持续的) steps early on. Early on, it can be better to make small changes to your daily routine than to make big changes all at once. Then each team will make a presentation by the end of the week. The team that makes the best presentation will get a prize.” As soon as our teacher finished explaining the rules, Liya went to me and asked, “Teammates?” Since Liya and I were interested in picture books and took painting class together, I agreed to be her teammate without a second thought. During the lunchtime, we went to the dining room together to exchange ideas on the reading project over lunch. Kasha, with whom I always did stuff together, happened to sit at the next table. “Kasha, do you have any good idea for us?” I asked casually. “Why should I give you guys ideas?” she replied in a hurt tone. “I’ll save them for my own team. After all, I am not your first choice for the project.” On hearing this, I realized that she was mad with me, for a good reason. If I were her,not only would I feel hurt, but I’d also be worried about which team I could join. Now I had my teammate and Kasha didn’t. With my eyes fixed on the floor, I apologized in a low voice, “I’m sorry to leave you out. But would you like to join us now?” I thought that Kasha would be pleased with the invitation. To my surprise, she refused immediately. At the very moment, I realized that Kasha was really angry. So, I decided to do something to let her know that she was always one of my best friends. That evening, I happened to see a picture book that Kasha and I had read together. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The next day, I slipped my painting into Kasha’s desk, hoping that it would make her forgive me. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 原创精品资源学科网独家享有版权,侵权必究!2 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$ Unit 2 Discovering Useful Structures分层练习 语言知识 一、(2025·高一课时练习)单句语法填空 1.We were invited to attend the private concert under the stars, _________________(listen) to musicians and meeting interesting locals. 2.What’s more, when _________________ (enjoy) the meal, you need to avoid making a noise. 3.He had a wonderful childhood, _________________ (travel) with his mother to all corners of the world. 4.She was just about to sit down when she felt something _________________ (move) near her feet. 5. _________________ (finish) his homework, the little boy began to play Internet games. 6 Tom slowly walked away, _________________ (complain) about the cold weather. 7.The mother had the boy _________________ (clean) the room the whole afternoon. 8.Hurry up! Keeping track of your progress helps you stay focused. F. Once this happens, the new behavior has become “automatic”. G. Identify the skills and strategies you need to complete each step. D 17. C 18. B 19. G 20. 【16题详解】 根据前文“Without goals, you may feel like wandering through life without a plan, purpose, or sense of direction. Despite knowing the importance of goals, many people fail to set a meaningful goal and successfully achieve it.(没有目标,你可能会觉得自己像在没有计划、目的或方向感的生活中徘徊。尽管知道目标的重要性,但许多人都没有设定一个有意义的目标并成功地实现它)”以及后文“Others set lots of goals for themselves but end up not achieving them.(其他人为自己设定了很多目标,但最终没有实现)”可知,此处在讲述许多人都没有设定一个有意义的目标并成功地实现它,所以D项“Some of them don’t know where or how to start.(他们中的一些人不知道从哪里或如何开始)”符合此处主题,且some和other构成顺承关系。故选D项。 【17题详解】 根据本段小标题“Set a SMART goal and write it down.(设定一个明智的目标并写下来)”可知,C项“You then need to turn this into a SMART goal.(然后你需要把它变成一个明智的目标)”符合本段主题,和上文“The first step is to figure out what you want or need to change.(第一步是弄清楚你想要或需要改变什么)”是顺承关系,其中SMART为同词复现。故选C项。 【18题详解】 分析设空,为本段小标题,根据后文“After you identify a SMART goal, the next step is to make a specific plan on exactly how you will achieve it. You should break the goal down into a set of actionable steps you can take.(在你确定了一个明智的目标之后,下一步就是制定一个具体的计划,确切地说你将如何实现它。 【19题详解】 根据前文“You should break the goal down into a set of actionable steps you can take.(你应该把目标分解成一系列你可以执行的步骤)”可知,G项“Identify the skills and strategies you need to complete each step.(确定完成每一步所需的技巧和策略)”是对前文的进一步说明,其中step为同词复现。故选G项。 【20题详解】 根据前文“Early on, it can be better to make small changes to your daily routine than to make big changes all at once. Consistency is key when it comes to working towards any goal. Research has shown that it takes an average person 66 days to form a new habit.(在早期,对你的日常生活做一些小的改变比一次做出大的改变要好。 研究表明,一个人平均需要66天才能形成一个新习惯)”可知,F项“Once this happens, the new behavior has become “automatic”.(一旦这种情况发生,新的行为就变成了“自动的”)”是对前文的进一步说明,而后文“It no longer requires as much attention, time, and effort as before, thus boosting your confidence and keeping you on the track of achieving your goal.(它不再像以前那样需要那么多的注意力、时间和努力,从而增强了你的信心,让你走在实现目标的轨道上)”则是对F项进一步说明。 “This time, it’s a teamwork,” our English teacher said one Monday morning. “You’re going to read a nice book together with two or three teammates. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 That evening, I happened to see a picture book that Kasha and I had read together. Suddenly, I had a good idea; to paint a picture to express my regret to her. I went to my desk immediately and started drawing a few scenes of us enjoying each other’s company. At the bottom of the page, I wrote, “Dear Kasha, I hope that this letter will remind you that you are one of my best friends and that you will never be left out again.” The next day, I slipped my painting into Kasha’s desk, hoping that it would make her forgive me. It did more than that! After she read it, she went to me and said, “I really love your painting and I’m sorry to be so sensitive yesterday. Why not read the picture book again with Liya? Perhaps we can draw more pictures and share them with our classmates at the presentation.” Hearing her words, I exchanged a knowing smile with Liya and felt relieved that the misunderstanding between us was finally cleared up. 词汇激活 行为类 ①表达:express/show/articulate ②原谅:forgive/pardon ③消除:clear up/clarify 情绪类 ①懊悔:regret/remorse ②敏感:ensitive/touchy 【点睛】[高分句型1]At the bottom of the page, I wrote, “Dear Kasha, I hope that this letter will remind you that you are one of my best friends and that you will never be left out again.”(that引导的宾语从句) [高分句型2]Hearing her words, I exchanged a knowing smile with Liya and felt relieved that the misunderstanding between us was finally cleared up.(现在分词作状语) 原创精品资源学科网独家享有版权,侵权必究!2 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$
