A
Chongqing has excellent transportation and is known as a 3D city. The Chongqing rail transit connects the streets and alleys of Chongqing. If you want to understand the fireworks atmosphere of Chongqing, follow us into several representative subway stations.
Hong Yan Cun Station
As the world’s second deepest subway station, located 116 meters underground, equivalent to a 40 story skyscraper, this depth brings many design and construction challenges. The station adopts a single arch double-layer structure design, which not only meets the rationality of structural mechanics, but also adapts to the unique mountainous terrain of Chongqing.
Xiao Long Kan Station
This is the first subway graffiti art station in China with the theme of “forest graffiti”. The station is composed of twelve dark green graffiti columns in the station hall, graffiti lawn terraces painted on the staircase facade, dark green tree crowns, and navy blue ceilings, forming a “forest”. Citizens feel as if they are immersed in nature.
Chong Guang Station
The dazzling design of the entrance and exit 1 of the station is named “Ring of Light - Gate of All Things”. The design concept of “Wishful Tree” is adopted in the passage, combining neon light rings with indoor plants, allowing citizens to pass through it as if entering a fantasy forest. The construction of the entrance and exit of the “Ring of Light” has effectively achieved “zero distance” transfer and “seamless” connection between rail transit and commercial areas.
Lie Shi Mu Station
The station is filled with abstract graffiti, with bluestone roads, pine trees and plum blossoms, bird songs and laughter... hiding common imprints in the memories of Chongqing people. Soft light falls on the Chongqing style graffiti, and the scenery in the painting seems to be shrouded in a thin mist. The graffiti area at the Martyrs’ Tomb Station is 5000 square meters, which is about 1.5 times that of Xiaolongkan Station, and the indoor graffiti area is currently the largest in the country.
21. Which subway station is the second deepest in the world?
A. Hong Yan Cun Station B. Xiao Long Kan Station
C. Chong Guang Station D. Lie Shi Mu Station
22. What is the main idea of this passage?
A. To introduce the history of Chongqing rail transit.
B. To describe the unique design of several representative subway stations in Chongqing.
C. To talk about the transportation development in Chongqing.
D. To explain the popularity of subway stations among Chongqing people.
23. What can we infer from the passage about Lie Shi Mu Station?
A. It is the most popular subway station in Chongqing.
B. The graffiti in it is mainly about future life.
C. Its large graffiti area makes it quite special.
D. It has the same design concept as other stations.
B
Qinghai Lake, the largest inland saltwater lake in China, has been expanding in size continuously for the past 20 years. The latest satellite remote sensing found that the lake’s water surface had reached 4650.08 square kilometers, a year-on-year increase of 28.1 square kilometers.
The recovery of the lake surface area is attributed to the local ecological restoration efforts and ongoing management and protection of the water ecosystem in recent years.
Currently, China has approved a plan to establish a national park at Qinghai Lake. As part of the park’s development, the headwater regions of inflowing rivers, ecologically fragile areas such as glaciers and permafrost, habitats of rare species, as well as the lake area, are all incorporated into core protection zones.
Over the past few years, the size of the Buha River basin has been on a steady increase, with the water quality consistently rated as excellent. How did local authorities manage to enhance the water quality while increasing the water volume?
A management system composed of the Qinghai Lake National Nature Reserve Administration, its branch offices and protection stations has been established in Qinghai Lake. Additionally, six protection stations have been put in place, carrying out special operations and daily patrols and monitoring to protect the water ecology.
It is learned that during the establishment of the national park, three comprehensive observation stations have been set up at the Chinese national level and under the administration of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Besides, a research platform has been established with the concreted efforts of several parties. Over 300 ecological monitoring stations for water, soil, air, and wildlife have also been set up to supervise 24 major bird habitats, 13 Przewalski’s gazelle activity areas, and 28 key ecological protection areas.
Today, Qinghai Lake has seen its ecological environment improved and biodiversity rapidly restored. The naked carp population has recorded a nearly 46-fold growth. A total of 281 bird species have been identified in the region, with an impressive 606,000 waterfowl making it their permanent home. Additionally, the number of the Przewalski’s gazelle in the Qinghai Lake basin has risen from fewer than 300 in the early stages of conservation to over 3,400.
24. What can be inferred from the fact that Qinghai Lake has been expanding in size for the past 20 years?

On the morning of Dec. 17, 2024, 5-year-old Yueyue stood before 80-year-old Liang Yongbi with a bright smile, extending her hand and saying, “Ms. Liang, come dance with me!”
For Liang, the simple invitation filled her heart with warmth. As they danced together, Liang’s joy was palpable, and the loneliness that had often gripped her seemed to melt away in that shared moment of happiness.
This was just one of many touching moments created by the “A Theater for One” volunteer service project, which brings companionship and joy to elderly people through personalized performances.
Since its inception in 2021, the project in Huangjueping, Jiulongpo district, southwest China’s Chongqing Municipality, has brought warmth and companionship to countless elderly people through 500 performances, including dances and small shows. Each performance is tailored to the specific tastes of the elderly, creating not just a show, but a heartfelt connection.
The project was initiated by He Mingfeng, a retired community leader who wanted to continue supporting isolated seniors after her retirement in 2020. Starting with a few volunteers, the project has expanded to include children from local schools, adding an extra spark to the shows.
The elderly in the community, many of whom live alone, have been the main beneficiaries of these performances. For 91-year-old Zou Hongzhen, who had lived in the area for over 50 years, the performances were a joyful reminder that she hadn't been forgotten. After losing her spouse and living alone for years, Zou expressed how much she appreciated the warmth brought to her by the volunteers. “I’ve never been this happy before!” she said.
The “A Theater for One” project is more than just entertainment - it’s about filling the emotional void many elderly face and showing them that society hasn’t forgotten them. He believes that the joy and love shared through these performances embody the idea that “today, we serve the elderly, and tomorrow, others will serve us.”
28. What can be inferred about the significance of the “A Theater for One” project from the example of 5-year-old Yueyue and 80-year-old Liang Yongbi?
A. It only provides a platform for children to show their talents.
B. It helps break the loneliness of the elderly through emotional connection.
C. It mainly aims to promote dance activities among different age groups.
D. It is a short - term initiative to solve the immediate problems of the elderly.
29. How does the “A Theater for One” project achieve its goal of bringing warmth to the elderly?
A. By providing financial support to the elderly.
B. By inviting famous artists to perform for the elderly.
C. By tailoring performances to the specific interests of each elderly person.
D. By organizing large-scale group activities for the elderly.
30. What can be concluded about He Mingfeng's motivation for starting the “A Theater for One” project?
A. She wanted to gain personal fame and recognition.
B. She aimed to create more job opportunities for retirees.
C. She was driven by a sense of social responsibility to care for isolated seniors.
D. She wanted to start a new business venture in the entertainment field.
31 Why does the author mention 91-year-old Zou Hongzhen in the passage?
A. To emphasize the long - term residence of the elderly in the community.
B. To show the diversity of the elderly population in the area.
C. To illustrate the profound impact of the project on the lives of the elderly.
D. To highlight the importance of family support for the elderly.

Suzhou Museum, which sits on Dongbei Street, Suzhou, east China’s Jiangsu province, is always seeing a constant stream of visitors. The museum covers a construction area of 19,000 square meters and houses over 25,000 pieces and sets of cultural relics. It receives more than 2.5 million visits on average each year. The museum was designed by renowned architect Ieoh Ming Pei and has maintained high popularity since it was opened in 2006.
However, to the surprise of many, this structure surrounded by lush bamboos and lucid waters was once challenged by high energy consumption, high operational cost and high carbon emissions.
To address this challenge, Suzhou Museum decided to build itself into a carbon-neutral facility in 2021. Promoting low-carbon operations starts with accurately measuring energy consumption of the museum. Therefore, the museum invited a team led by Professor Wei Qingpeng from Tsinghua University’s Building Energy Conservation Research Center to conduct a comprehensive "diagnosis" of the facility.
Additionally, many of the museum’s systems and pipelines were concealed within narrow spaces between floors, requiring staff to crawl into tight areas with instruments to collect data. After more than two years of effort, the team completed an extensive analysis of the museum's structures, materials, and equipment. They presented a “diagnostic” report along with a tailored implementation plan to achieve carbon-neutral operations.
With each piece of equipment being upgraded, a new energy ecosystem has gradually taken shape within the museum. “Even though the new equipment is state-of-the-art, if each system operates independently without coordination, overall energy consumption won't improve much,” said Wei. To address this, he developed a “digital brain” tailored for Suzhou Museum. This system creates a miniature Internet of Things network within the museum, connecting all devices.
Wei told People’s Daily that his team is currently working on upgrading this “digital brain.” In the future, it will precisely manage energy allocation, determining, for example, how much energy each artifact requires or how much cool air needs to be supplied to individual display cases daily. Suzhou Museum aims to transform itself into a secure, collaborative, green, and intelligent smart museum by 2025.
32. In the context of the transformation of Suzhou Museum, which of the following behaviors or elements match their corresponding functions or outcomes?
A. Invite Professor Wei Qingpeng’s team to create a coordinated energy ecosystem.
B. Developing a 'digital brain' for comprehensive 'diagnosis' of facilities.
C. Upgrading each device directly reduces carbon emissions.
D. In order to increase exposure and improve the overall performance of museum energy related systems.
33. What can be inferred about the future of Suzhou Museum according to the passage?
A. It will only focus on energy-saving aspects and neglect art display.
B. The “digital brain” will be the only factor determining its success.
C. It is likely to become a model for other museums in terms of green and intelligent operations.
D. It will stop receiving as many visitors as it did before the transformation due to the ongoing construction.
34. You are a reporter interviewing Professor Wei Qingpeng about the "digital brain" for Suzhou Museum. Which of the following questions would be the most relevant and in-depth based on the passage?
A. How did you come up with the idea of the "digital brain" when you first saw the museum?
B. Do you think the "digital brain" can also be applied to other types of buildings like shopping malls?
C. In the process of upgrading the "digital brain", what are the most difficult technical problems you are facing considering the unique structure of the museum and its large number of cultural relics?
D. Will the "digital brain" increase the cost of the museum's operation?
35. Which of the following would be the most appropriate title for this passage?
A. “The Renowned Suzhou Museum: A Cultural Icon”
B. “Suzhou Museum: A Blend of Tradition and Modernity”
C. “The Digital Brain: Revolutionizing Museum Operations”
D. “Overcoming Energy Challenges: Suzhou Museum's Path to Carbon-Neutrality”

Humans’ noses can be adept at detecting delicate hints of apple or smoke in a glass of whiskey. But with machine learning, computers might also be Whiskey Masters. Scientists have discovered that by linking the molecular composition of 16 different whiskies to their odor characteristics, machine learning algorithms can identify the top five flavors in each whisky, matching the flavors recorded by a human expert team.
The bouquet of a drink is the product of dozens of gaseous molecules wafting up into the air. In the case of whiskey, there are more than 40 compounds that create odors ranging from vanilla to caramel to smokiness. The extensively trained human experts who can distinguish these flavor notes are called Whiskey Masters.
Scientists have hunted for laboratory methods to supplement that human expertise. Many tools, such as mass spectrometers, can identify the molecular makeup of whiskies. ___36___ Individual molecules can have different odors depending on the medium they’re in — air, water, oil — and different odors stand up against one another in complex ways.
Grasskamp — of the Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging IVV in Freising, Germany — studies sensory perception processes. ___37___.
The test subjects were 16 previously analyzed whiskey samples, seven American and nine Scotch. To determine the top five flavor notes from each whiskey, the researchers combined two algorithms: one a statistical computer model that distinguishes samples based on the detected molecules, and the other a neural network trained to predict identifiable scents based on the detected molecules. ___38___.
The team compared these automated assessments with the tasting notes from 11 Whiskey Masters, each of whom had identified the top five odors they detected in each whiskey out of 17 preselected attributes. ___39___ So the researchers determined an aggregate top five odors per whiskey.
___40___ But however good a computer Whiskey Master might be at identifying flavors, it still can’t tell you how much you’ll enjoy them.
A. Everyone didn’t come up with the same top five for each whiskey.
B. He and colleagues used a machine learning algorithm to test whether the molecular composition of whiskies could be used to predict their odor.
C. However, getting from that makeup to the subtler impression of an array of odors has proven difficult, say data analyst Andreas Grasskamp and colleagues.
D. The top five flavor notes identified by the algorithm consistently matched the aggregate top five identified by the humans — suggesting, perhaps, greater accuracy in identifying the strongest aromas.
E. They are trying to find a more accurate way to analyze the molecular composition of whiskies.
F. Combined, the two algorithms then came up with the top five flavor notes in each whiskey.
G. The number of compounds in whiskey is far more than that in other drinks.

If you had to choose one word to describe Kevin, it might have been “slow”. He didn’t learn his ABCs as fast as other kids. He never came in first in the schoolyard races. However, Kevin’s enthusiasm for life was quite contagious (有感染力的), so when he joined the basketball team, he was welcomed by all the teammates.
Basketball became the center of Kevin’s life. At practice, he worked so hard that you’d have thought he was preparing for the NBA. He liked to stand in a certain spot near the free-throw line and shoot baskets. Patiently, he stood there throwing ball after ball after ball, until finally it would go through the hoop (篮筐). “Look at me, Coach!” he’d yell, jumping up and down, his face just glowing with the thrill of it all.
Kevin and his whole team truly loved basketball. But just loving the game doesn’t help you win. More shots m red the basket than made it in, and the boys lost every game that season by very large margins (差额), except on… the night it snowed and the other team couldn’t make it to the game.
At the end of the season, the boys played in the tournament. As the last-place team, they drew the unfortunate spot of playing against the first-place team — the tall, undefeated first-place team. The game went pretty much as expected, and near the middle of the fourth quarter Kevin’s team stood nearly 30 points behind.
At that point, one of Kevin’s teammates called time-out. He came to the side, “Coach, ” said the boy, “This is our last game and I know that Kevin has played in every game, but he’s never scored a basket. I think we should let Kevin score a basket.” With the game completely out of reach, the idea seemed reasonable, so plans were made.

17. What is the probable job of the speaker?
A. A teacher. B. A tour guide. C. A house agent.
18. Where is a recommended location for housing outside the campus?
A. The commercial area.
B. The uptown neighborhood.
C. The university neighborhood.
19. What is a disadvantage of the downtown area for housing?
A. High rental costs.
B. Limited apartment options.
C. Lack of popularity among students.
20. Which transportation mode is suggested for students living in the Greenfield Park neighborhood?
A. Private car. B. Public bus. C. Shared bike.
A 18. B 19. B 20. A
M: Good morning. Welcome to the orientation for new students. The topic today will be off campus housing. This is of interest to those who don’t want to live in student housing and are not familiar with our city. First, let’s talk about where to look for an apartment. There are some places that I don’t recommend. You might think the neighborhood of the university would be a nice place. However, it’s probably not a good idea because that is one of the most expensive areas of the city to live in. The downtown area is a popular place to visit. However, that’s not a good place to look for housing either because it’s a commercial area with very few apartments. It’s also far from the university, so where’s a good place to live? The apartments in the uptown neighborhood are good. The prices there are quite low and many buses go there, so it’s very easy to get to the university from there. The greenfield park neighborhood is popular. It’s closer to the university, but not many buses run in that direction, so you’ll need a car if you choose to live there.
A
Chongqing has excellent transportation and is known as a 3D city.
D It has the same design concept as other stations.

B 33. C 34. C 35. D

C 37. B 38. F 39. A 40. D
根据上文“Many tools, such as mass spectrometers, can identify the molecular makeup of whiskies.(许多工具,如质谱仪,可以识别威士忌的分子组成。)”和下文“Individual molecules can have different odors depending on the medium they’re in — air, water, oil — and different odors stand up against one another in complex ways.(单个分子根据其所处的介质——空气、水、油——不同,会有不同的气味,而且不同的气味会以复杂的方式相互对抗。)”
根据上文“Grasskamp — of the Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging IVV in Freising, Germany — studies sensory perception processes.(来自德国弗赖辛弗劳恩霍夫工艺工程与包装研究所IVV的Grasskamp研究感官知觉过程。)”和下文“The test subjects were 16 previously analyzed whiskey samples, seven American and nine Scotch.(测试对象是16个之前分析过的威士忌样本,其中7个是美国威士忌,9个是苏格兰威士忌。)”
根据上文“To determine the top five flavor notes from each whiskey, the researchers combined two algorithms: one a statistical computer model that distinguishes samples based on the detected molecules, and the other a neural network trained to predict identifiable scents based on the detected molecules.(为了确定每种威士忌的前五种风味,研究人员结合了两种算法:一种是基于检测到的分子来区分样本的统计计算机模型,另一种是经过训练,可以根据检测到的分子预测可识别气味的神经网络。)”
根据上文“The team compared these automated assessments with the tasting notes from 11 Whiskey Masters, each of whom had identified the top five odors they detected in each whiskey out of 17 preselected attributes.(研究小组将这些自动评估结果与11位威士忌大师的品酒笔记进行了比较,每位大师都从17个预先选定的属性中找出了他们在每种威士忌中检测到的前五种气味。)”和下文“So the researchers determined an aggregate top five odors per whiskey.(因此,研究人员确定了每种威士忌的总体前五种气味。)” 故选A。
根据下文“But however good a computer Whiskey Master might be at identifying flavors, it still can’t tell you how much you’ll enjoy them.(但无论计算机威士忌大师在识别风味方面有多擅长,它仍然不能告诉你你会有多喜欢它们。)”

由句中the Right of the P ___7___(…… 故填People。
空格处缺少谓语,且要能够与宾语foundation(基础)相匹配,加之是字母l开头,故想到了lay(搁放,放置)。
由于空格处应该是名词,加之由文章中and organizing its powers in such f___9___(组织它的权利以……)
由文章中it is their right, it is their d ___10___(这是他们的权利,也是他们的义务……)
【点睛】在第3小题的句子all men are created equal 中,注意不要写成equally。

注意:
1. 续写词数应为150个左右;

Paragraph 1: When they went back on the court, the game carried on. Every time Kevin’s team got the basketball, they passed it to Kevin, who was to stand in his special spot near the free-throw line. The first few times, Kevin was so nervous that he missed the shot. Kevin’s face fell, his eyes filled with disappointment and self-doubt. But his teammates kept encouraging him, shouting, “Kevin, you can do it!” their voices full of belief and support. Little by little, the audience started to stand up and clap their hands. The whole gymnasium thundered with the clapping.
Paragraph 2: Finally, with just a few seconds left on the clock, Kevin got the ball again. Surrounded by the encouraging claps, he took a deep breath, focused his eyes on the hoop and then threw the ball. It flew through the air in a beautiful arc and went straight through the hoop. At that moment, the whole court erupted in cheers. “Look at me, coach, I made it!” With the brightest smile, Kevin turned to his coach, who was also nodding at him, hands high up clapping. At the same time, his teammates rushed to him and hugged him tightly. It was a moment that Kevin and the whole team would remember forever.
