The giraffe is the tallest in the zoo. 形容词与副词 的比较级和最高级 (一) 形容词与副词 比较级和最高级的构成规则 1.形容词的规则变化 规则 例词  一般在词尾加-er、-est small—smaller—smallest  以字母e结尾的词，只在词尾加-r、-st nice—nicer—nicest 以一 个辅音字母结尾的重读闭音节词， 双写结尾的辅音字母后再加-er、-est sad—sadder—saddest fat—fatter—fattest 以“辅音字母+y”结尾的词，把y变为i,再加-er、-est busy—busier—busiest heavy—heavier—heaviest 大多数双音节词和多音节词，在原级前加more、most important—more important —most important 分词形容词一般在其前加more、most tired—more tired—most tired 重读闭音节是指以辅音音素结尾，元音发短元音，而且是重读音节的音节。 2. 副词的规则变化 原级 比较级 最高级 good/well better best bad/ill worse worst little less least much/many more most far farther/further farthest/furthest 3.不规则变化 副词和形容词一样，也有比较级和最高级形式。单音节词和少数双音节词可以用加词尾的方法构成比较级和最高级，大多数双音节词和多音节词以加more 和 most 的方法构成比较级和最高级。 late—later—latest       quickly—more quickly—most quickly (二) 形容词与副词 比较等级的用法 1. 原级比较 （1）肯定句中用“as+形容词/副词原级+as”结构，意为“与……一样”。 Your handwriting is as good as his. 你的书法和他的书法一样好。 （2）否定句中用“not so/as+形容词/副词原级+as”结构，意为“不如/不及……那样”。 The issue is not as difficult as it looks. 这个问题并不像它看上去那么难。 （3）当as.…as…结构中两个as之间有名词时，应用“as+adj.+a(n)+ 单数名词+as”或“as many/much/few/little+复数名词/不可数名词+as”结构。 She is as good a student as Julie. 她和朱莉一样，都是好学生。 The work is making as much progress as can be expected. 这项工作现在进展得正如预期的那样快。 2. 比较级的用法 (1)形容词和副词的比较级与 than 连用时，用于两者之间的比较，意为“比……更”。 Children learn faster than adults. 孩子们比大人学得快。 (2)“比较级+and+ 比较级”表示某种情况变得“越来越……”。 The weather is getting colder and colder. 天气越来越冷了。 Online shopping is becoming more and more popular nowadays. 现在网上购物变得越来越流行了。 (3)“the+比较级… ,the+比较级…”表示一方的程度随着另一方的变化而变化，意为“越……, (就)越 ……”。 The harder you study,the greater progress you will make. 你学习越努力，你取得的进步就会越大。 3. 最高级的用法 (1)主要用于三者或三者以上人或事物的比较，常用于“the+形容词的最高级+名词+比较范围”和“动词 +(the)+ 副词的最高级”结构中，句中一般有in、of、among等引出的表示范围的介词短语。 Paul runs the fastest in the school team. 在校队里，保罗跑得最快。 That seemed to be the happiest day of her life. 那似乎是她一生中最快乐的一天。 (2)“one of+the+形容词的最高级+复数名词”表示“最……的……之一”。 Li Lei is one of the smartest students in the class. 李雷是班里最聪明的学生之一。 (3)副词的最高级之前的 the可以省略。 Which bag do you like(the)best,the red one,the pink one or the yellow one? 你最喜欢哪个包，红色的、粉色的还是黄色的? 4. 比较级和最高级修饰语 (1)比较级的修饰语有far、much、a lot、a great deal、still、a bit、a little、rather、any、no以及倍数等。 (2)最高级的修饰语有far、much、nearly、almost以及序数词等。 This is much the worst book of all. 这是所有书中最糟糕的一本。 5.倍数的表达法 (1)“A+ 谓语+倍数+as+ 形容词或副词的原级+as+B”表示“A(……) 是 B的多少倍”。 Asia is four times as large as Europe. 亚洲的面积是欧洲的四倍。 (2)“A+ 谓语+倍数+the size/width/height/length….+of+B”表示“A 是 B 大/宽/高/长……的多少倍”。 This river is twice the width of that one. 这条河是那条河的两倍宽。 典例精析 例3 Of the two girls,who is one?
