A few years ago, I hurt 1 back. A friend said acupuncture (针灸) helped her wounded knee. I had some doubts—not because it is Chinese medicine, 2 because I’m afraid of needles (针). Still, I thought I’d try it. Lying on the doctor’s table, I heard the needles tinkling (叮当声) in a metal bowl. I turned to have a look. How 3 those needles were! I jumped up and 4 home. Recently, my back started to hurt again. This time, my friend said I could get a massage (按摩), so I went to have a try. 5 a few minutes, the doctor said my problem was serious. She took out some small glasses and 6 a fire—I was about to try cupping (拔火罐). I wanted to 7 , but the pain on my back stopped me as I got up. I lay back down again. When the doctor touched me, I jumped. Would it hurt? Would she 8 me? The glass felt cold. But it didn’t hurt 9 ! Within just a minute, my back was covered with small glasses. I probably looked like an ugly piece of furniture. Now, I’m still ugly with the purple cupping 10 , but my back feels great! 1.A.my B.his C.her D.its 2.A.while B.and C.but D.though 3.A.helpful B.valuable C.peaceful D.terrible 4.A.rushed B.brought C.stayed D.left 5.A.Before B.After C.By D.For 6.A.hit B.caused C.lit D.collected 7.A.put away B.send away C.run away D.throw away 8.A.burn B.control C.punish D.promise 9.A.in total B.as usual C.so far D.at all 10.A.smells B.marks C.inventions D.symbols 第二部分 阅读理解(共15小题;每小题2分,满分30分) 请认真阅读下面短文,从短文后各题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中,选出最佳选项。并在答题卡上将该项涂黑。 A If you’re planning a trip to the New York City and are looking for the perfect place to stay, here are some good choices. B Birds are building their nests (巢) with rubbish. The rubbish includes cigarette butts (烟头) and plastic bags. A group of European scientists looked into about 35,000 studies on birds nests. They found that birds have used man-made things in nests almost on Earth except Antarctic (南极). Some rubbish seems to be helpful. This is why birds “like” putting it in their nests. For example, cigarette butts have some chemicals so they can keep insects (昆虫) away and protect the chicks (雏鸟). Plastic bags are useful in keeping the animals warm, and other hard things, such as paper cards, can make nests stronger. However, in the end, human rubbish may only bring harm to birds. The toxic (有毒的) chemicals in cigarette hurt the chicks. The chicks may get sick or have shorter lives. To make matters worse, if the cigarette still burns when the bird brings it back to its home, it may set fire to the nest. Pieces of fishing net may also trap (缠住) birds, and it’s impossible for them to get out by themselves. If the chicks eat other kinds of rubbish by accident, they will also get hurt. Our friends in the air are feeling the bad effects of humans polluting the environment. 14.How can cigarette butts “help” birds? A.They can make nests stronger. B.They can keep nests warm. C.They can burn other harmful rubbish. D.They can keep insects away. 15.What did the European scientists find? A.Birds can help clean the environment. B.There is almost no bird living in Antarctic. C.There is rubbish in the nests of many birds. D.People use man-made things to help birds build their nests. 16.What are the last two paragraphs (段落) mainly about? A.The activities of birds in their nests. B.The bad sides of rubbish in bird nests. C.The reasons for the death of young birds. D.The pollution humans make in the environment. 17.How should we consider birds nesting with rubbish? A.It hurts more than it helps. B.Human activities can help animals. C.It’s good for birds in the long run. D.It shows the friendship between birds and humans. C One cool morning in 1974, some Chinese farmers set out with their shovels (铁铲) across their shoulders. They were going to work on the well (井) they had been digging. They spoke and laughed pleasantly among themselves as they walked, but when they reached the well, they became more serious. Each man set his shovel into the soil and began to work quietly. Talking took energy away from the difficult task. After some time, however, one of them cried out. “Look at this!” he shouted. The others gathered around, intrigued. “What is it?” asked one of the men. “It is a bit of pottery (陶器),” answered another . “Why, it looks like a face,” said the first man. “Perhaps it is part of a statue. We had better report this.” Hearing about what the farmers had found, the government sent a team of archeologists (考古学家) to the well. As they began to explore the place, the archeologists found life-sized clay figures (泥塑). There were soldiers, horses, and more. Finally, over 7,000 clay figures were uncovered. Those farmers working at the well did not know it, but they had discovered one of the world’s most amazing archeological findings. Who made these fine figures, and why? 18.Who first found the pottery? A.The government.B.The farmers. C.The archeologists. D.The soldiers. 19.What’s the meaning of the underlined word “intrigued” in Paragraph 2? A.Calm. B.Confident. C.Creative. D.Curious. 20.What can we know about the discovery from the passage? A.It was a great archeological finding. B.More than 7,000 horses were uncovered. C.The farmers made these fine figures. D.Archeologists found some finger-sized soldiers. 21.What is the passage most probably going to write about next? A.What these figures were made for. B.Where the figures were uncovered. C.How amazed the archeologists felt. D.Why these farmers did the digging. D From little flurries to full-scale blizzards, it’s not unusual for snow to fall come winter. During the cold weather months, some folks like to share recipes for how to make snow ice cream and other treats that use fresh powder as a base, adding milk, sugar and toppings. Obviously, no one is recommending anyone scoop up a bowlful of snow hanging out on the side of the road, full of salt, muck, and other unpleasantness. But it does beg the question: Is any snow actually safe to consume? According to meteorologist Mary Scarzello Fairbanks, snow isn’t all that pure. It’s formed when water droplets freeze around some dust or debris in the air, forming an ice crystal that continues to collect water vapor and form a snowflake. When it falls, it will also collect things hanging in the air, including dirt and even bacterial particles. Depending on the area, snow could also contain sulfates, nitrates, formaldehyde, or mercury. If it’s windy, snow could even mix with dirt kicked up from the soil before settling. A 2015 study showed how snow could mix with gasoline exhaust. This all means that, theoretically, your snow ice cream could have some pretty disgusting (令人作呕的) “toppings.” At the same time, there doesn’t seem to be a surge of reports of illnesses related to snow consumption (消耗), and the contaminants (污染物) it may attach to in the air are also present as we breathe Supposing you don’t consume a huge quantity of it, it’s unlikely that whatever contaminants might be in the snow will be present in large enough amounts to cause problems. While no one is technically advocating for snow ingestion here, just a small bite will probably be fine. Eating snow in an emergency is another matter. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) warns against snow snacking for anyone stranded, such as hikers, because it can lower one’s body temperature. In cases where there is a water supply problem, the CDC says it’s safe to take collected snow and boil it to kill off any germs. 22.What can be inferred from the passage? A.It’s common to make snow ice cream. B.Snow is different in various areas. C.It’s advisable for hikers to eat snow. D.Snow eating in small amounts harms people. 23.How does the author support his idea? A.By presenting facts. B.By making comparisons. C.By providing data. D.By giving explanations. 24.What is the author’s attitude towards “Eating snow”? A.Disappointed. B.Doubtful. C.Satisfied. D.Objective. 25.What could be the best title of the passage? A.Does snow eating result in diseases? B.Does snow contain different ingredients? C.Is it safe for people to eat snow? D.Is it OK to eat snow in emergent situations? 第三部分 信息还原(共5小题:每小题1分,满分5分) 请认真阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项,选项中有两项为多余选项。It’s often said that children are the apple of their parents’ eyes.
