故选A项。
Prepare the rice.(准备米饭):对应步骤②③“② Heat a pot over medium-high heat; stir(搅拌)rice and 2 tablespoons oil together in the hot saucepan(炖锅)to coat the rice with oil. Pour hot water over the rice. Bring to a boil and place a cover on the pot.”③ Bake rice in preheated oven until the water is absorbed and rice is soft ,12 to 15 minutes.(用中高火加热锅;在热炖锅中将米饭和2汤匙油搅拌在一起,在米饭上涂上油。 。其次是a.Boil broccoli and add salt and pepper.(煮西兰花并加盐和胡椒):对应步骤④“Place broccoli into a large pot and cover with salted water. Boil until broccoli is soft ,5 to 7 minutes. Drain(沥干)and season broccoli with salt and pepper .(将西兰花放入大锅中,盖上盐水。煮5到7分钟,直到西兰花变软。将西兰花沥干,用盐和胡椒调味。)”。之后是e.Cook the chicken.(烹饪鸡肉):对应步骤⑤“Add chicken to hot oil in a skillet(平底煎锅)over medium-high heat, season with garlic powder and onion powder. Cook chicken until completely browned, 5 to 7 minutes.(在平底锅中用中高火将鸡肉加入热油中,用大蒜粉和洋葱粉调味。将鸡肉煮至完全变黄,需时5至7分钟。)”。之后是 b.Mix onion with the chicken.(将洋葱与鸡肉混合):对应步骤⑥前半部分“Stir onions into the chicken. Continue cooking until onions are soft, 5 to 7 minutes.(把洋葱搅进鸡肉里。继续煮5到7分钟,直到洋葱变软。)”。之后是f.Cook rice until lightly browned and stir broccoli into it.(将米饭煎至微黄并将西兰花搅拌入内):对应步骤⑥后半部分“Spoon rice into the skillet. Cook until lightly browned on the bottom, about 3 minutes. Stir broccoli into the rice mixture.(把米饭舀到煎锅里。煮大约3分钟,直到底部微微变黄。将西兰花搅拌到米饭混合物中。)”。最后是d.Add lemon juice and Parmesan cheese.(加入柠檬汁和帕尔马干酪):对应步骤⑥最后部分“Sprinkle(洒)lemon juice over the mixture and stir.

Nothing could stop Dad. After he was put on disability for a bad back, he bought a small farm in the country, just enough to grow food for the family. He planted vegetables, fruit trees and even kept bees for honey.
And every week he cleaned Old Man Mocolgin’s chicken house in exchange for manure (肥料). The smell really burned the inside of your nose. When we complained about the terrible smell, Dad said the stronger the manure, the healthier the crops, and he was right. For example, just one of his cantaloupes (哈密瓜) filled the entire house with its sweet smell, and the taste was even sweeter.
As the vegetables started coming in, Dad threw himself into cooking. One day, armed with a basket of vegetables, he announced he was going to make stew (炖菜). Dad pulled out a pressure cooker and filled it up with cabbages, eggplants, potatoes, corns, onions and carrots. For about half an hour, the pressure built and the vegetables cooked. Finally, Dad turned off the stove, the pot began to cool and the pressure relief valve sprayed out a cloud of steam. If we thought Dad’s pile of chicken manure was bad, this was 10 times worse. When Dad took off the lid, the smell nearly knocked us out .
Dad carried the pot out and we opened doors and windows to air the house. Just how bad was it ? The neighbors came out of their houses to see if we had a gas leak !
Determined, Dad filled our plates with steaming stew and passed them around. It didn’t look that bad, and after the first wave had shut down my ability to smell, it didn’t offend the nose so much, either. I took a taste. It would never win a prize in a cooking competition, but it was surprisingly edible (可以食用的), and we drank up every last drop of soup !
4. Why did Dad clean Old Man Mocolgin’s chicken house regularly ?
A. To earn some money for the family. B. To collect manure for his crops.
C. To get rid of the terrible smell. D. To set a good example to us.
5. What can we infer about Dad’s stew ?
A. It is popular among the neighbors . B. It contains honey and vegetables .
C. It looks very wonderful . D. It tastes quite delicious .
6. What does the underlined word “offend” in the last paragraph mean ?
A. Attract . B. Upset . C. Touch . D. Shut .
7. What can we learn about Dad from the text ?
A. He is an experienced cook. B. He is a troublesome father.
C. He has a positive attitude to life. D. He suffers a lot from his disability.
B 5. D 6. B 7. C
根据文章第一段的“And every week he cleaned Old Man Mocolgin’s chicken house in exchange for manure (肥料)(每周他都要清理Old Man McColgin的鸡舍,作为得到肥料的交换c)”可知,父亲清理Old Man McColgin的鸡舍是为了收集肥料。
根据最后一段的句子“It would never win a prize in a cooking competition, but it was surprisingly edible (可以食用的), and we drank up every last drop of soup !(它永远不会在烹饪比赛中获奖,但它的可食性令人惊讶,我们喝光了每一滴汤!)”
根据画线部分所在句子“the first wave had shut down my ability to smell, it didn’t offend the nose so much, either.”
After he was put on disability for a bad back, he bought a small farm in the country, just enough to grow food for the family. He planted vegetables, fruit trees and even kept bees for honey.(没有什么可以阻止父亲。在背部受了严重的伤后,他在农村买了一个小农场,这个农场足够给家人种植食物。他种了蔬菜、果树,甚至养了蜜蜂以获得蜂蜜)”可知,父亲在背部受伤后,不愿意休息,而是自己经营着小农场,而且在收获后,还自创菜。由此可知,父亲对于生活有着积极的态度。故选C。
C
It is said that most people have not more than 30 friends at any given time, and 400 over the whole of their lives. However, on social networking sites, most users have about 150 friends. If these numbers are correct, then friendship means different things in different situations.
Also, there are no rules about friendship. There are no instructions about how to make friends, how to keep friendships going, and how to finish friendships if we want to move on. People have very different opinions about this: some people would die for their friends and they value them more than family. Others say that friends are temporary, only there to help each other until they are no longer needed. If people with such different views become friends, this can lead to problems.
Because of these different definitions of friendship, it is easy to be unhappy about our friendships. We may want them to be deeper or closer, or we may want to have more friends in our lives. Sometimes we simply do not have the time to develop our friendships, or we fear we have left it too late in life to start. If we move to another country or city, we have to find ways to make new friends again.
This dissatisfaction shows us how important friendships are for most of us. We should not think that it could be too late to build friendships. We also need to understand that the need to be around other people is one that is shared by many. Therefore, we should not be too frightened about starting to talk to people who in the future may become our friends: it is likely that they too would like to get closer to us. Remember what people say: strangers are friends we have not met yet.
8. In Paragraph 1, the numbers are used to______.
A. show the ways of making friends B. introduce the topic
C. explain the reason D. persuade readers to make more friends
9. What is the main idea of Paragraph 2?
A. There is a rule about making friends.
B. People with different views can become friends.
C. Friendships mean different things to different people.
D. Some people would die for their friends if they need to.
10. We can learn from the passage that most of us ______.
A. need to have friends B. build friendships late in life
C. are dissatisfied with our friends D. are frightened to talk to people
11. What is the authors attitude towards talking to a stranger?
A. Uninterested. B. Cautious. C. Doubtful. D. Positive.
B 9. C 10. A 11. D

People who have blood types A, B, or AB have a slightly higher risk of heart disease compared to those with type O, the most common kind, according to a research released Tuesday.
Those who know they are at higher risk may be more motivated to make changes to lower their chances of heart disease, said Dr . Lu Qi, senior author of the study from Harvard School of Public Health in Boston. “We cannot change blood type but we can change lifestyle.” said Qi , who led a study released last year that showed blood type may affect stroke risk .
The new study involved about 90,000 men and women in two observational health studies that cover more than 20 years. Combined, 4,070 people developed heart disease. The researchers considered age and other factors like diet, drinking and family history of heart attacks that could contribute to heart disease.
The increased risk for type A was 8 percent; type B,1l percent; and type AB, 20 percent. While the study did not examine how blood type may affect heart disease risk, it noted that research has shown some characteristics of different types may be a factor. For instance, some research suggests that blood types might affect cholesterol (胆固醇) levels or the risk of developing blood clots, which can slow down the blood flow or stop it entirely.
The findings were published in the American Heart Association Journal Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis and Vascular Biology. No matter what blood type, Harvard’s Qi said everyone should pay attention to risk factors they can change, including smoking, weight, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and a sedentary (久坐的) lifestyle.
12. Which blood type is the most dangerous according to the study?
A. Type O. B. Type AB. C. Type A. D. Type B.
13. What does the underlined word “clots” in Paragraph 4 probably mean?
A. Blocks. B. Liquids. C. Types. D. Diseases.
14. What does the author want to tell us on risk factors?
A. Weight isn’t a problem. B. Smoking can be given up.
C. Blood types can be changed. D. Good life habits matter much.
15. Which is the best title for the text?
A. Risks on Heart Disease. B. How to Live a Healthy Life.
C. Blood Types and Heart Disease. D. How to Prevent Heart Disease.
B 13. A 14. D 15. C

It was eight o'clock on a cold spring night. I was so tired. I had depended on a walking stick to go anywhere for seven weeks, recovering from surgery, and I couldn’t find a way to cheer myself up.
The phone rang for the sixth time in less than an hour. We knew who it was. My mother had been suffering from dementia and mental distress. There was little we could do to help her.
As her eldest daughter, I tried my best to help her. Though we visited every few days, she believed that her daughters had not visited in months. She thought that her friend Jimmy never wanted to see her again, even though he called her and visited weekly. She had no idea that she had repeated the things she was about to say a hundred times today and a hundred times the day before. She had no idea that I had undergone surgery, nor could she remember her own granddaughter’s name. She forgot most of her own past.
This time, I got angry with my mother. “Mom!” I shouted. “We care about you. We visited two days ago! Mom, you have to believe me, and if you don’t, I cannot talk to you anymore!”
Silence. Then she said, “I am only calling to say hello. Why are you shouting?”
“I’m shouting because you keep calling me a hundred times every single day! I’m shouting because you are asking me the same question a thousand times every time you call me! I’m shouting because I have repeated the answer ten thousand times! I’m shouting because I don’t know what to say!”
I sat on the sofa, realizing that my daughter was watching me. She heard me blame my mother, heard me lose my patience and say that someone I loved was a burden. I curled up on the sofa, upset.

1. 续写词数应为 150 左右;

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
I watched my daughter care about her weak grandmother with such deftness.
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Para 1:
My five-year-old daughter asked to speak to her grandmother on the phone. I handed it over without a word. She gave a warm greeting to her grandmother on the phone. I heard my mother exclaim through the receiver. My daughter shared something interesting happening in the kindergarten with her. I heard her cheering on the other side of the phone. My mother expressed her love for her. But then she asked my daughter the same questions again. My daughter patiently answered again and then offered to sing for her grandmother.
Para 2:
I watched my daughter care about her weak grandmother with such deftness. She did much better than me. She answered every question asked by my mother with patience and offered to do something that made her grandmother happy, while I just yelled at my mother like a mad woman. Instantly, I felt nothing other than extremely ashamed. Never before had I been urged so much to make an apology to my mother. And I did it that night in spite of having to walk with a walking stick.

Nothing could stop Dad. After he was put on disability for a bad back he bought a small farm in the country, just enough to grow food for the family.
Dad carried the pot out and we opened doors and windows to air the house Just how bad was it ? The neighbors came out of their houses to see if we had a gas leak !
Determined, Dad filled our plates with steaming stew and passed them around. It didn’t look that bad, and after the first wave had shut down my ability to smell, it didn’t offend the nose so much, either. I took a taste. It would never win a prize in a cooking competition, but it was surprisingly edible (可以食用的), and we drank up every last drop of soup !

A. Attract . B. Upset . C. Touch . D. Shut .
7. What can we learn about Dad from the text ?
A. He is an experienced cook. B. He is a troublesome father.
C. He has a positive attitude to life. D. He suffers a lot from his disability.
B. Cautious. C. Doubtful. D. Positive.
