在2022新课标中明确指出,要能辨认出由关系代词that、which、who引导的限制性定语从句,并能理解句意。广东中考近5年没有直接考查关系从句,但在各个题型的语篇当中不乏关系从句出现的身影,特别是在2023年中考的回答问题第76题中答句即为关系从句。因此,学生要侧重并加强对关系从句的辨识和理解能力。

关系从句
关系从句(亦称“定语从句”)是在主从复合句中,修饰某一名词或代词的从句。被修饰的名词或代词充当先行词,引导关系从句的词叫关系词,其中包括关系代词与关系副词。

关系代词 用法 例子
who 先行词是人,在从句中作主语或宾语 This was discovered by scientists who do research on dreams.
这是研究梦的科学家发现的。(作主语)(★2023年回答问题原句)
This is the man who we are talking about.这就是我们正在谈论的那个男人。(作宾语)

which 先行词是物,在从句中作主语或宾语 I’m interested in the books which were written by Jia Pingwa.
我对贾平凹写的书感兴趣。(作主语)
On the other hand, the land which the elephants lived on was overused by humans.另一方面,大象居住的土地被人类过度使用。(作宾语)(★2020年阅读理解B篇原句)

关系代词 用法 例子
that 先行词是人或物,在从句中作主语或宾语 She studies brain diseases that come along with aging.
她研究随着年龄增长而出现的脑部疾病。(作主语)(★2024年完形填空原句)
There must be things (that) you don’t need any more like old toys or magazines.一定有一些你不再需要的东西,比如旧玩具或旧杂志。(作宾语)(★2023年配对阅读原句)
注意:切勿把关系词与宾语从句的引导词混淆,一旦确定考点为关系从句,就可排除what。

当先行词为all、much、few、little、something、anything、everything、nothing等不定代词时 Is there anything that I can do for you?我能为你做些什么吗?
All that is important should be retold three times.
所有重要的事情都应该重述三次。
当先行词被the only、the very、the same、the last等修饰时 Tim is the only person that passed the exam in his class.
蒂姆是他的班上唯一一个通过考试的人。

当先行词既有人又有物时 They talked about the things and people that they could remember.

注意:当先行词是someone、anyone、everyone、no one、somebody、anybody等指人的不定代词时,不受此限制。如:Is there anyone who can answer this question?这里有能回答这个问题的人吗?

2.先行词指物,只能用which的情况
关系代词放在介词之后 This is the place in which I grew up.这就是我长大的地方。
当that、those作主语时 Those which are on the desk are English books.桌上放的书都是英文书。
