一 教学目标
通过一个课时的学习,学生能够:
1.预测语篇的构成要素并简单运用语言进行概括,快速略读语篇内容,概括语篇大意;
2.绘制人物事件的时间轴,获取并梳理白求恩医生的基本信息、经历、品质及影响;
3.运用所学单词、短语及连词because,so和so that,复述白求恩医生的故事,并总结出他的优秀品质以及英雄所具备的优秀品质。
二 教学重难点
1.语篇内容和结构的深度理解;
2.语篇细节信息的查找与总结以及人物优秀品质的归纳;
3.通过问题链的提示,总结何为真正的英雄。
三 教学环节
Step 1 Lead in
Activity:Introduce the topic Heroes. T shows an example of national heroes
Ss talk about their heroes and give reasons.
T shows a picture of Dr Norman Bethune.
Ss share what they know about Dr Norman Bethune.
Step2Pre-reading
Activity: Predict the content according to the title.
T presents the title: My hero-Dr Norman Bethune
Q: If you were the writer, what would you write about in the passage?
Ss come up with some ideas.
设计意图:
Lead Ss to have a prediction about the content of the passage.
Create situation to arouse Ss'interest and introduce the topic naturally.
Step 3 While-reading
Fast reading
Activity:Look through the passage and summarize the main idea of each paragraph.
Careful reading
Activity 1: Read Paragraph 1 and complete the card about Dr Bethune's basic information.
Activity 2: Draw a timeline.
Ss draw a timeline of Dr Bethune's life by reading Paragraphs 2 -4, including the years and events.
Activity 3: Fill out the frame diagrams.
T shows Ss two frame diagrams which include problems Dr Bethune met, solutions and results or purposes,
Ss read Paragraphs 2 and 3 carefully and complete the frame diagrams.
Activity 4: Find out details.
Ss find out more details showing how hard Dr Bethune worked.
Ss talk about other qualities Dr Bethune had.
Step4 Post-reading
Activity 1:Retelling
T shows a frame of the passage.
Ss introduce Dr Norman Bethune with the help of the frame in groups.
Activity2: Further thinking
T leads Ss to comprehend the meaning of "hero".
Step5 Homework
Write a passage about Tu Youyou according to the facts. Use the structure of the passage to help you.
