(I) Lead in (5 minutes)

(II) Presentation (10 minutes)
1. Play the recording of 1a, let the students listen and watch the dialogue and understand the general idea.
2. The teacher explains the key words and phrases in the dialogue, such as sports meet, take part in, 800-meter race, long jump, high jump,cheer...on, etc., to help students master the usage through examples and sentences.
3. Play the recording again, let the students imitate the pronunciation and follow the reading dialogue, and pay attention to the pronunciation phenomena such as reading and rereading.
(III) Practice (15 minutes)
