Step 1. Lead- in
Show some pictures about our school football team.
Do you like football? Why? If they want to win the match, what they
should do?
Step 2 :Pre-reading
1.Show students the two pictures of Activity1. Lead the students to describe them and present newwords in sentences and teach them as well.
eg: The blue team beat the red team because the red team was careless.
2.Have students guess: Look at the title- Training hard.
what do you think the passage is about?
what sport is Daming training for?
Step 3: While-reading
1. Scanning
Ask students to scan the passage and find out the main idea of it and where the passage may come from.
2. Careful reading.
Read and answer
1). What is Daming going to do on Saturday?
2).Why is Daming going to play football on Saturday?
3). Did his team win the match last year? why?
4). How does the team practise this year?
5). Why is it good to have fans around?
Ask students to skim the passage and complete the table.
Li Daming’s team train hard this year.
Read the passage again and complete the table in groups.
Step 4: Post- reading
1. Discuss
Do you think Daming's team will win this year?
What can learn from him?
2.Retell.
①Let the students complete the passage with the words in the box in Activity3.
②Call back the answers from two students then read the short passage in the whole class .
3.Speaking
