Have students answer the first question on page 2. I know that Canada has quite a few national symbols like the maple leaf, which is on the country’s national flag. The maple tree is important to Canada’s economy because it is used for wood and sugar. Ice hockey, the national winter sport, is also a symbol of Canada. Canada is famous for inventing the sport, and it is the favourite sport of the country. 2. Have students answer the second question on page 2. Canada is a vast and diverse country with much natural beauty. Forillon National Park is situated on the north-eastern coast of the country and consists of majestic cliffs, beautiful hiking trails and diverse wildlife. A visit to Canada’s cities can also offer exciting experiences to travellers. At the CN Tower, which is a landmark of Toronto, visitors can take part in many activities like getting a breathtaking view of the city or enjoying the ultimate thrill of walking on a ledge outside the tower. 3. Have students pay attention to the picture and the title of the article and answer the following questions. (1) How much do you know about the maple leaf? The maple leaf is an important symbol of Canada. It is represented on the Canadian flag, 批　注 which is also called the Maple Leaf. The maple leaf has been used as the Canadian emblem since the 1700s. People on this land are made up of indigenous peoples and immigrants from across the world. Their diversity is also reflected in the variety of languages spoken in the country.
