教学过程
Step1. Lead in:
1. Have a brainstorm.
What may first appear in your mind as soon as people mention “school life”?
Step 2. Comic strip:
1. Listen and answer:
1) In Eddie’s opinion, why don’t dogs go to school?
2) What does Eddie think school is like?
2. Act it out.
Step 3 Discussion:
1. Lead the students to think about:
Do you agree with Eddie? What’s school like?
Step 4. Presentation:
1. Show students a video to show them that there are differences between British English and American English.
2. Show more pictures to show that people in the UK and the USA sometimes use different words to refer to the same thing.
3. Make up a dialogue.
4. Play a matching game.
5. Show some more words about differences between British English and American English.
6. To Consolidate what they have learned, let the students watch a video about differences between British English and American English.
Step 5 Practice:
1. Listen and answer:
What does Simon want to buy?
What’s Daniel’s plan for the weekend?
2. Read the dialogue in Part B and underline the British words and write the American words above them.
3. Share your weekend plan with your classmates.
4. Discussion:
What can we get from school life?

1. Share your school life with your family.
2. Finish the exercises.
