Lead-in Talk about Eddie and come into the topic of this unit. Step 2. Presentation&Practice I (Eddie’s problem) 1. Listen to the tape and find Eddie’s problem. 2. Watch the comic and answer two questions. Q: Why is Eddie getting fat? What advice does Hobo give him? 3. Read the comic and get familiar with it. 4. View the last picture of the comic and think about more questions. Q: Can Eddie deal with his problem?And why? Why does Hobo advise Eddie eat less? Step 3. Presentation&Practice II (Students’ problems) 1.View pictures of different teenage problems the students from Sunshine Middle School have and guess their problems. 2. Finish Part A on page35 and confirm guess. 3. Give advice and help the students deal with their teenage problems. 4. Listen to Millie’s problem and complete the table. 5. Read the dialogue and learn about how to give advice. Step 4. Presentation&Practice III (Teenagers’ problems) 1. Make up a new dialogue and talk about different problems that teenagers have. 2. Have a summary. Q: What should you do when having problems? Take action: Know(What) Think(Why) Solve(How) 3. Have a free talk and watch a video. Q: How do you feel when having problems? Try to be positive and keep mental health. Step 5. Consolidation&Reflection 1.Write down one of the biggest problems and send it to teachers for help. 2. Think further.
