With LOLA. TITOU AND WOUFI IN THE MOUNTAINS
Lola, Titou and Woufi are looking at the landscape through the car window. Lola's dad is holding tightly onto the steering wheel, because the road is bendy. "The houses look like doll's houses down there in the valley," remarks Lola.
"Look, a chamois on a rock!" points out Titou.
"Give me the binoculars to see if there are any marmots," says Lola.
"Oh no, the marmots are watching the television in their warm burrows!" laughs Titou.
"That's our chalet, high up there on the mountain, with the red shutters and the green door,"
Lola points out to Titou.
"The owner has lit a fire. Woufi, you will be able to warm yourself in front of the fireplace."
After the journey, the children feel like a cup of hot chocolate. As soon as Lola opens the car door, her dog leaps out and sinks into the snow!
"Woufi, you are certainly not a sleigh dog, or an elk!" says Lola.
Whoops! Dad is really tired! He has dropped the keys to the chalet in the snow.
"While we wait for him to find them, you can play," suggests Lola's mum. "Put on your coat, your scarf and your gloves."
"Shall we make a snowman?" suggests Lola.
Woufi has understood. While Titou rolls a large snowball, he brings some pine cones for the eyes and some branches for the arms. Then, as fast as an eagle, he takes Lola's hat and runs off.
"Woufi, it's cold. Give me back my hat!" says Lola. "Wait," replies Titou. Woufi is going to put it on the snowman's head. That's an excellent idea!"
Now it only needs some buttons and a carrot for the nose.
The children sit down on a bench. Suddenly, the birds fall silent. Woufi starts barking and heads towards a large pine tree. Titou and Lola join him.
"Now what could this be?" Titou shows them some enormous footprints that disappear into the forest.
"They are at least five times the size of my boots!" exclaims Lola. "It might be a bear! And it certainly isn't a teddy bear!
"Or a Yeti? Let's go back into the chalet to get the camera, then we'll follow the footprints."
Mum and dad have managed to get into the chalet. They are putting the clothes away in the wardrobe. Lola and Titou take a rucksack, their skis and their walking sticks. "What about Woufi? He can't ski! Let's take the sleigh for him. He will guide us with his scent"
The friends follow the footprints towards dragon Peak. Then they descend the squirrel trail.
Titou glides along like a professional skier, at top speed. But he hasn't seen the rock hidden in the snow.
The sleigh takes off like an aeroplane.
Woufi glides like a bird above the clouds and falls down again near the chair lift.
Above them, the skiers laugh while Woufi shakes himself to remove the snow.
"Titou, let's be careful!" advises Lola.
"The footprints go along the lake at the foot of the mountain. If you fall in, you will be as cold as an ice cream." Suddenly, Woufi raises his nose, growling in the direction of a cave.
"It's the Yeti's house! I'll place some bread and chocolate at the entrance to lure it out."
"If we manage to take some photos of it, they will appear in the newspaper and on the Internet and... we'll become famous!"
A girl wearing some blue trousers and a very warm anorak emerges from the cave where she hoped to see a bat. She is wearing snowshoes that have left large footprints in the snow. Lola recognises the girl who lives in the chalet next door.
"Marie! You're our Yeti!" exclaims Lola.
"Me,a Yeti? Then Woufi is a wolf," laughs Marie.
"Are you hungry?" I have some apples and a sugar lump for Woufi. "Yum," thinks Woufi as he sticks a flag with a star in front of the cave.
Lola. Titou and Woufi go on holiday to the mountains.
While they have fun building a snowman, they notice some enormous footprints that disappear into the forest.
Perhaps they belong to a bear or a Yeti...
