Many students today learn programming. However, some are not sure if they should choose to learn it. What’s programming education like? What do students think of it?
Types of Programming Education
There are two types of programming education: software (软件) programming and hardware (硬件) programming. Software programming is about writing orders to solve a problem, while hardware programming uses programming languages to control hardware.
Types of Programming Languages
■ Scratch
Scratch allows beginners to make games with pictures. It only needs simple math and English knowledge. Scratch can help develop your interest in programming.
■ Python
Python is very easy to get started with. Reading a good Python program feels like reading English paragraphs. Usually, students can start learning Python in the higher grades of primary school. After learning Python, you can develop games and things like a calculator.
C++
C++is the only programming language for NOIP (全国青少年信息学奥林匹克联赛), which can help if a student wants to go to the top universities.
What do students think of learning programming?
Helen: I studied C++for several years when I was in primary school. It needs high math skills. Now I have changed to learn MO (数学奥林匹克竞赛) problems. I find out that what I’ve learned in programming helps me a lot when dealing with those problems. It can also help me with math at school.
Steve: I have friends who continue learning programming, and it takes a lot of time. There is a chance and it helps with the gaokao. If you want to study IT and engineering majors in university, it’s certainly worth learning. However, I think learning without a certain intention is better. It’s fun and a way of relaxing for me now. Programming is not for everyone as far as I can see. If you find it too hard at some point, no need to push yourself.
1.The article introduces _________ types of programming education.
A.two B.three C.four D.five
2.If a student wants to take part in NOIP, he should learn __________.

A.Learning MO problems B.Learning high math skills
C.Learning programming D.Learning math problems
4.What does the underlined word “intention” probably mean “________”?
A.conclusion B.purpose C.effect D.method
5.Which of the following is Not True according to the passage?
A.Hardware programming is about writing orders to solve a problem.
B.Scratch can help develop your interest in programming.
C.Students can start learning Python in the higher grades of primary school.
D.Steve thinks learning programming is fun and a way of relaxing.
6.This passage is written to ____________.
A.ask more students to learn programming languages
B.introduce some facts about programming education
C.tell facts and share opinions on learning programming
D.show programming is too hard for primary students

Nowadays many people go camping for fun. Camping can be enjoyed in the backyard or deep in the wilderness. Whether camping for one night or several weeks, being prepared is the key.
Endless fun
Once the tent, your base, is put up and the fire area is prepared, there is lots to do. Fishing and hiking are just some of the fun activities. At night, campers often sit by the fire, talking and telling stories. If the weather turns rainy, campers usually wait it out in their tents, reading, drawing or playing games.
Required equipment
Shelter, bedclothes, food and water are necessary. Deciding what else you will need depends on the kind of camping trip you are planning and the length of your trip. Pack light if you are going to carry equipment any distance. Clothing should be prepared enough to protect against weather and insects. A hat, whistle, bug repellent (驱虫剂) and rope may come in handy. Don’t forget a flashlight, a compass, cookers and a first-aid box.
Various tents
There are many types and styles of tents. You should choose your tent based on your needs. If you are camping alone in the backyard, a simple lean-to or small tent may do. If you are camping with your family, a larger cabin tent or camping trailer may be best.
Proper locations
Where you decide to set up your campsite is very important. Look for a high and dry location if it rains. The ground should be level because hills and rocks are uncomfortable to sleep on. A sunny exposure (接触) in the morning with shade in the afternoon is ideal.
5
Wherever you camp, it is important to respect the environment around you. If you are in a park, make sure to follow its rules. Put your garbage and waste in rubbish bins. If you are in the wilderness, keep noise to a minimum and do not disturb the plants or animals.

Miss Lisa’s favourite part of being a crossing guard is that, “every day, there is a different special moment. I just love watching the little ones grow up and come back to see me. Peter Lantos started seeing the ugly messages someone①posted about him on his social networking site when he was only fourteen. He didn’t know who they were from, only that the posts came from someone called Guess9. The posts continued into high school, and the message got uglier. Whenever Peter went online, he would always find more terrible posts. He felt like it was his problem, so he didn’t say anything to his parents at first. Sometimes the bullying made him feel so bad that he didn’t want to go to school. Peter was the victim of ②cyberbullying.
In several ways, cyberbullying is even worse than face-to-face bullying. A cyberbully can post anonymously, using an online name, like Guess9, instead of his or her real name. A cyberbully can post someone’s personal information or post photos or videos that might be embarrassing to the victim. Hundreds, thousands, or even millions of people might see the message on their notebooks, tablets, or smartphones.
What should you do if you are a victim? The most important thing anyone can do is to tell someone. Talk to an adult about it. Don’t deal with cyberbullying alone! There are ways to block a cyberbully’s posts, and someone can help you do that. And one of the most effective things you can do might be to do nothing. Ignoring the bully, rather than replying to his or her posts, puts you in control. Instead of responding, take a break, or go for a walk. Remember that the cyberbully has done something wrong. You haven’t. And what if you have a friend who is bullying someone online? Take a stand! Tell your friend how hurtful it is. You might make a difference.

When I was younger, bedtime was always my favourite part of the day. Wearing soft pajamas(睡衣裤) and with Lan, my stuffed monkey, in my arms, I felt no pressure at all.
I named Lan after my uncle when I compared Lan’s long arms and legs to his. One night I ran up to Uncle Lan at a family party and told him I had named my monkey after him. His eyebrows wrinkled in confusion, then a chuckle(哈哈大笑) escaped his lips. I guess he didn’t understand how important it was to me.
Even if Uncle Lan didn’t think my monkey was special, I certainly did. I dressed him in a white baby nightgown. My mother thought that Lan was the best-dressed stuffed animal in the world. Yes, he was certainly a fashionable creature. The strong cologne(科隆香水) I used on him years ago makes him still smell “pretty”.
For a long time, Lan went everywhere with me. He was my best friend, and I told him everything. But when I turned twelve, I realized I was too old for stuffed animals. I thought people would think I was babyish, so I put him in the cupboard with the rest of my teddy bears and dolls. I begged him to understand why I was doing this, but at the same time I longed to talk to him again.

C++

(2023·上海浦东新·三模)Choose the best answer. (根据短文内容,选择最恰当的答案)
It took me several years to realize that it was OK to miss Lan. I know now that maturity doesn’t only mean growing up and taking on more responsibility. It also means holding on to your childhood and acting young sometimes.
Lan has been with me since I was six years old. Holding him in my arms connects me to my past and my present as I continue to grow and understand myself.
1.The writer named the toy monkey Lan because ________.
A.Lan was the cutest name in her heart
B.Uncle Lan was her best friend
C.Uncle Lan has long arms and legs too
D.She used to have a toy bear named Lan
2.Which of the following is NOT TRUE according to the text?
A.Bedtime used to be the writer’s favourite part of the day because of the stuffed monkey.
B.Uncle Lan liked the stuffed monkey as much as the writer.
C.The writer used to carry the monkey with her wherever she went.
D.Years later the writer realized that it was not wrong to miss Monkey Lan.
3.The third paragraph shows that ________.
A.the writer doesn’t care for the toy monkey
B.the writer’s mother is fond of reading fashion magazines
C.the writer was born in a poor family
D.the writer loves the toy monkey very much
4.When the writer was 12 years old, she ________, so she put the monkey away.
A.had some teddy bears and dolls B.thought people would think she was babyish
C.was tired of playing with toys D.was busy with homework
5.In the fourth paragraph, the underlined phrase “longed to” probably means ________.
A.渴望 B.讨厌 C.后悔 D.好奇
6.The writer believes that ________.
A.keeping toy animals is babyish
B.maturity doesn’t mean growing up and taking on more responsibility
C.one should keep to his childhood and act young sometimes even when he has grown up
D.human beings should be kind to animals

3.推理判断题。根据第三段的“I dressed him in a white baby nightgown. My mother thought that Lan was the best—dressed stuffed animal in the world. Yes, he was certainly a fashionable creature. ”可知我给他穿上了一件白色的婴儿睡袍。我妈妈认为兰是世界上最好的毛绒玩具。是的,他当然是一个时髦的生物。因此选项D“作者非常喜欢毛绒猴子”符合。故选D。
4.细节理解题。根据第四段的“But when I turned twelve, I realized I was too old for stuffed animals. I thought people would think I was babyish, so I put him in the cupboard with the rest of my teddy bears and dolls. ”可知但当我十二岁时,我意识到我太大了,不适合毛绒玩具。我以为人们会认为我很幼稚,所以我把他和我剩下的泰迪熊和洋娃娃放在橱柜里。故选B。
5.词句猜测题。根据第四段的“so I put him in the cupboard with the rest of my teddy bears and dolls. I begged him to understand why I was doing this, but at the same time I longed to talk to him again.”可知所以我把他和我剩下的泰迪熊和洋娃娃放在橱柜里。我恳求他理解我为什么要这样做,但同时我……再次与他交谈。可推知表示渴望。故选A。
6.细节理解题。根据第五段的“ I know now that maturity doesn’t only mean growing up and taking on more responsibility. It also means holding on to your childhood and acting young sometimes.”可知我现在知道,成熟不仅仅意味着成长和承担更多的责任。这也意味着可以坚持你的童年,有时可以表现得很年轻。故选C。
