教学目标
1.能听懂、会读、会说单词protect, Earth, save, useful, waste, reuse, energy, most, come from, coal, wood, cut down, too many, plastic, oil, too much和句型We use/reuse… to… We should… We shouldn’t…,并能借助图片和联系上下文理解单词和在具体的情境中正确使用句型。
2.了解节约水、能源、树木的重要性和不能使用太多塑料的危害,学会用英语表达如何节约水、能源、树木和合理使用塑料。
3.整体感知、理解课文和正确、流利地朗读课文,通过课文语篇的学习,在看、听、说、读写的活动中,获取、梳理保护地球的具体方法,明白保护地球是我们每个人的责任,形成绿色生活观念。
4.通过“小小辩论会”,认识事物的两面性,感受保护地球的重要性,进一步加深对“保护地球”的意识,并通过完成和交流分享关于保护地球的4个绘本,展示对主题意义的认识和语言学习的成果。

教学重点:
1.了解节约水、能源、树木的重要性和不能使用太多塑料的危害,学会用英语表达如何节约水、能源、树木和合理使用塑料。
2.理解、朗读课文,获取、梳理保护地球的具体方法,明白保护地球是我们每个人的责任,形成主动保护地球的意识和绿色生活观念。

教学过程
Step 1 Pre-reading
1.T: Boys and girls, I’m Miss Chen. Welcome to my English class.
Do you like watching TV? Let’s watch TV together. Then tell me what TV program it is.
2.Watch the TV program Zhi Ma kai Men and let the Ss guess.
3.Let the Ss clap hands to welcome the host Sesame.
T: What will Sesame talk to us today? Let the Ss watch the video about the Earth.
4. Learn the new word “Earth” and show the title of Unit 7.
Step 2 While-reading
1.T: How to protect the Earth? Let the Ss scan the text and circle the answers.
Check the answers. (1)Save water (2)Save energy (3)Save trees (4)Don't use too much plastic
2.Learn Passage 1
(1)Show the Earth and introduce it. T: Look at the Earth. The blue part is the sea. So there’s a lot of water on the Earth. Most of the Earth’s surface is covered by water.
(2)Let the Ss read the first passage in details and underline the answers of the two questions:Why should we save water? How do we save water?
(3)Check the answers.
① Answer the question: Why should we save water?
Introduce two pictures: There is no water in the river. The children have to walk a long way to fetch only a little water.
②Answer the second question and know about the sign of reuse.
③ Look at the picture of washing rice and complete the sentence: We can reuse water to ...
(4)Read Passage1 according to the reading symbols.
3.Learn Passage 2 and 3
(1)Read Passage 2 and 3 and underline the answers of the two questions: Why should we save energy/trees? How do we save energy/trees?
(2)Answer the question: Why should we save energy?
Listen to Sesame to introduce energy used in China.
Sesame: Where does other energy come from?
(3)Answer the question: How do we save energy?
T: To save energy, what else should we do ?
(4)Answer the question: Why should we save trees?
Learn and distinguish between the two phases: cut down trees, plant trees
(5)Answer the question: How do we save trees?
(6)Listen and imitate Passage 3.
4. Learn Passage 4
(1)T: Sesame has a friend. Who’s his friend?
Listen to Sesame’s friend.(A plastic bag)
(2)T: Is plastic good or bad? Let the Ss have a little debate.

(3)T:What’s the opinion in the book?
Listen to Passage 4.

Enjoy some pictures of Sesame’s vegetable garden.

5.Read the whole text

1.Complete the sentences and make a picture book.
