Content Analysis
[What]
The thematic context centers around Spring Festival. The theme is “Human and society”. This lesson is a reading class. And it consists of three accounts from different people. The first account is from Tom, an exchange student living in Nanjing. Spring festival means excitement and a lot of fun to him. In his account, he mentioned several preparations and activities of celebrating Spring Festival, including cleaning the house, attaching Fu upside down to the front door, setting off and watching fireworks and enjoying a big dinner. In Xu Gang’s account, he summarizes that Spring Festival means coming home and being with my entire family. He felt wonderful surrounded by Shanxi accents on the train home, chatting with parents and having hotpot. In Li Yan’s opinion, Spring Festival is family time. She is busy and happy preparing children’s coming home and enjoys the atmosphere of a family gathering. At last, it is summarized that no matter how the customs have changed, the spirit of Spring Festival remains still.

The main body is made up of three readers’ accounts, containing their experiences and views about Spring Festival. In the beginning, the editor adds notes about the three accounts, introducing three accounts from three people from different cultures. While in the end, the editor highlights the unchangeable spirit of Spring Festival.
