A Look, listen and say.
Step1 Getting students ready for learning
Think about animals you have ever seen. What do you know about them?
Let’s get closer to the amazing animals today. (Enjoy a video clip of animal world.)
Step2: Pre-listening
1. Show three short paragraphs. Have students read by themselves. Then guess what they are.
It is cute. It can climb trees. It is black and white. It likes to eat bamboos. (panda)
It can fly. It has beautiful feathers. It likes to eat worms. It can talk.(parrot)
It has four legs and a shell. It can creep on the ground and swim in water. (turtle)
2. Classify
Pandas are mammals. Parrots are birds. Turtles are reptiles.
3. Teach ‘kind’.
⑴ Guess the meaning through situation.
Reptiles, birds, mammals, they are kinds of animals.
Can you guess the meaning of the word ‘kind’?
⑵ Teach the pronunciation
How do we pronounce the word ‘k-i-n-d’? Can you read ‘find’? Then have the same ending ‘ind’
f+ind=find How about ‘k+ind’ ?
Now you can read the new word. You can also remember ‘kind’ with the help of ‘find’.
Step4: While-reading
1. Look and answer
Show the picture of P28 (仅图,不出现文字)
Look at the details of the picture and think:
⑴ Where are they? (They are in the classroom)
⑵ What they are talking about? (They are talking about animals.)
2. Listen and answer
Listen to the tape, then try to answer the following questions:
⑴ What animals did Yaoyao like best? (Monkeys)
⑵ What kind of animals are monkeys? (Mammals)
3. Read and underline
Read and underline the information about Yaoyao’s favorite animals.
