T:Hello,boys and girls, Welcome to my class.I’m Chloe. We will continue learning Unit1 In China,today we will learn lesson 2.
In this lesson,we will learn the new words and sentences to talk about the locations and famous things of cities.So are you ready for the class? Let’s go.

T: Did you have a good time on the summer vacation? I had a nice summer vacation. I went to many places.Let’s enjoy a video about my summer vacation,ok?ok,Let’s enjoy!<播放视频>
T:Wow, a wonderful video, right? Can you remember “where did I visit”? Yes,great,I visited Hangzhou,Beijing,Guangzhou and Lhasa.
But where are they?Here’s a map.Try to read.(PPT播放,跟读map) <出示中国地图>
(1)引出方位词:east,west,south,north,感知重点句型where is it? It is in...of China.
The first place I visited is Hangzhou. Where is Hangzhou.Can you find it in the map? Yes,it’s here,It’s in the east of China. Try to read “east”“It’s in the east of China”.
The second place visited is Beijing.Can you find Beijing in the map? Good job! Beijing is here,It’s in the north of China. Try to read “north”“It’s in the north of China”.
The third place is Guangzhou.Can you find Guangzhou in the map? Wonderful! Guangzhou is here,It’s in the south of China. Try to read “south”“It’s in the south of China”.
The fourth place is Lhasa.Can you find Lhasa in your map? Well done!Lhasa is is in the west of China. Try to read “west”“It’s in the west of China”.
Boys and girls,pay attention.We usually use the first letter “e,n,w,s” to stand for the four directions.

(2)Where is Xining? Of course it’s in the west of China.
(3)What’s the weather like there? It’s cool in summer. Yes,Great.Maybe we can go there in summer.
(4)What’s it famous for? It’s famous for temples. Look,it’s a temple.The most famous temple in Xining is the Ta’er temple.Try to read.

We know Andy went to Xining on his summer vacation. Do you want to know more details about Andy’s vacation?open your book to P.4 and complete the mind map.
