Step 2: Reading (15 minutes)
1. Ask students to read the article about the Danxia landform and the Yadan landform in part A. Then ask them the following questions:
What does the Danxia landform in Zhangye look like? (Answer: Beautiful hills with the colours of the rainbow.)
What makes the Yadan landform? (Answer: The Yadan landform is made of sandstone in strange shapes. It takes millions of years for these shapes to form.)
2. Have students read the conversation between Daniel and Millie in part C. Ask them to imitate the conversation and make a new one with their partners about the landscapes they want to visit.
Step 3: Listening (10 minutes)
Play the radio ad about visiting Yunnan Province for students. Ask them to complete Daniel's notes in part B. Check the answers together.
Step 4: Writing (10 minutes)
1. Guide students to make a table about the landscape they choose in part D1, including what it is, where it is, what it is famous for, and what they can do there.
2. Let students read Daniel's article in part D2 and analyze the structure and language used.
3. Ask students to write an article about a beautiful or interesting landscape in China based on the information in part D1 and using Daniel's article as a model. Provide necessary guidance and correction during the writing process.
