Lulu watched Peking Opera for the first time in an opera museum. “I found it really fantastic,” she said. “Both the outfits (装束) and the movements were so wonderful. The facepainting was something I'd never seen before. It is so different from Western operas.”

The group members practice twice a week. Mostly, they practice singing and movements.
The biggest problem for Lulu was learning the Asian way of singing. “To start with, my throat(嗓子)was in great pain, because I was using my voice in the wrong way,” she said. But with the help of teachers, she has improved a lot.

Have you ever noticed how many calories(卡路里) you eat in a day? There is a special store opened in the Chengdu Youth Palace. If you “shop” there, you can find out how many calories there are in different foods.
The store opened on May 17th,2022. It's part of the “Know Your Food” programme of the UNICEF. The programme is to make children and young people know more about foods, and help them make healthy choices about what they eat.
There are no real foods in the store, but there are many imitation snacks (仿制零食), including sugary drinks and many bags of latiao. People can take them to the selfservice counter(自助台) to see how many calories they have. What's more, the store offers many models and cartoons to help people understand which foods are very good for them and which foods they should eat less often.
Now, being overweight (超重) has become a serious problem among children. It is shown that almost 20% of children between 6 and 17 years of age, and over 10% of children under the age of 6 in China are overweight. Scientists also point out that the cheap, highly processed (高度加工) foods and drinks can cause the quick growth of children who are overweight.
