A(24-25高二山东烟台期中考试)
With millions of riders on the road, China’s food delivery industry has long prided itself on being able to reach every corner of the country. Now, Meituan is even offering to deliver takeout to the Great Wall — dropped off not by a worker on an electric bike, but by a drone (无人机) sliding from the sky.
For the millions of tourists who visit the Great Wall each year, the drone delivery service offers a new level of convenience. Visitors can now order meals and drinks via their smartphones, with drones delivering their orders to their locations on the wall, which eliminates the need for tourists to leave their spots, allowing them to fully engage in the experience of visiting the Great Wall without interruptions.
The Great Wall drone route extends from a nearby hotel rooftop to a watchtower on the southern part of Badaling, an area previously free of commercial (商业的) facilities. “That’s where drones can help,” Yan Yan, public affairs director of Meituan’s drone business, told CCTV. “Through drones, we can make trips that take 50 minutes on foot in five minutes and deliver heat relief objects and emergency supplies to visitors.”
Once an order is received, a Meituan worker will pick it up from a nearby store and bring it to the hotel rooftop, where it will be weighed and packaged. An operator then ties the package to the drone, which will fly on autopilot to the watchtower, where another worker waits to receive it and hands it over to the customer.
The company will initially offer free delivery while it tests the service, and claims that pricing will stay similar to that of regular deliveries afterward.
Meituan’s drone delivery at the Great Wall is another example of how drone technology can be used for the last mile. The program could serve as a model for similar services in other tourist-heavy or geographically challenging locations worldwide and have a promising future.

B(24-25高二山东泰安期中考试)
A new study predicts nearly 75% of us will face extreme weather in 20 years. “In the best case, we predict that rapid changes will affect 1.5 billion people,” says physicist Bjorn Samset from Norway. This lower estimate would only be reached by reducing greenhouse gas emissions(排放)in a large degree — something that is yet to occur.
Otherwise, climate scientist Carley Iles and her colleagues’ modeling finds that if we continue on our current course, these dangerous changes will hit 70 percent of the Earth’s population. Their modeling also suggests that much of what’s to come is already locked in. Samset advises preparing for unexpected extreme events in the next 1-2 decades.
We’ve already lived through examples of these extremes. Data from Europe’s climate service Copernicus shows Earth just had its hottest Northern Hemisphere summer on record. The Southern Hemisphere has been experiencing a record-breaking warm winter too. This global temperature increase has brought with it fatal fires, floods, storms, and droughts that are destroying crops and leading to increasingly widespread hunger, creating favorable conditions for the spread of more diseases as well. “Like people living in a war zone with the constant sounds of bombs and guns, we are becoming deaf to what should be alarm bells,” says climate scientist Jennifer Francis.
With extreme emissions cuts we can reduce some of these impacts, but this will cause some regions more immediate issues too. “While cleaning the air is critical for health reasons, air pollution has also masked some of the effects of global warming,” explains professor Laura Wilcox from England. “But not acting means these worsening weather extremes will likely impact most of us within the very near future.”
“These conclusions emphasize the need for both continued mitigation(缓解)and adaptation to potentially unexpected changes over the next 20 years even under a low-emissions condition,” writes Iles.
5.What can help to reduce the impact of extreme weather changes?
A.Building more disaster prevention projects.
B.Reducing greenhouse gas emissions to a great extent.
C.Increasing the use of renewable energy sources.
D.Improving early warning systems for extreme weather.
6.Why are people getting deaf to extreme weather?
A.As a result of social and economic pressures.
B.Because of the media’s over-reporting of extreme weather.
C.Because people have experienced so many weather extremes.
D.Due to improved technology that can better predict extreme weather.
7.What does the author imply in the last paragraph?
A.The side effects of emission cuts.
B.The benefits of global cooperation.
C.The serious situation of the future climate changes.
D.Other measures to slow down climate change.
8.Which of the following can be the best title?
A.What to do with disasters.
B.Preparing for extreme weather.
C.Measures to reduce emissions.
D.How to fight against extreme events.

Overthinking refers to the tendency to excessively analyze situations, events, or decisions, often leading to anxiety and stress. It’s important to recognize that overthinking is not a Unique or abnormal experience. 1 Here are some tips to deal with overthinking;
● Distract yourself when you re overthinking.
Do something that you find fun and engaging. When your thoughts are running away from you, sometimes you just need to do something else for a while. 2 Some people enjoy coloring or doing puzzles, while others may enjoy going for a walk.
● Get your thoughts down on paper.
3 Try spending 10 minutes daily to write down your thoughts. When you write, it helps you organize your thoughts, so they don’t feel so confused and overwhelming in your mind. Writing can also help you get to the root of what’s going on.
● Talk out your thoughts with a friend.
Saying your thoughts out loud can help you process them. If you just can’t seem to move past your thoughts, try opening up to someone you really trust, like your family members or friends. 4
● Try to see problems as challenges.
Look for solutions instead of just replaying the obstacle, If you notice that you’re just thinking about every little detail of a decision you’re facing, try to reframe your thoughts. Focus on how you can solve the problem, or what you can learn from it. 5
A.and big problems seem less terrible when you break them down.

【答案】1.D 2.C 3.A 4.B
根据第二段“For the millions of tourists who visit the Great Wall each year, the drone delivery service offers a new level of convenience.(对于每年参观长城的数百万游客来说,无人机送货服务提供了一个新的便利水平)”;划线词上文“Visitors can now order meals and drinks via their smartphones, with drones delivering their orders to their locations on the wall(游客现在可以通过智能手机点餐和饮料,无人机会把他们点的东西送到他们在长城上的位置)”以及后文“the need for tourists to leave their spots, allowing them to fully engage in the experience of visiting the Great Wall without interruptions(……离开景点的需要,让他们完全沉浸在游览长城的体验中,不受干扰)”可知,游客现在可以通过智能手机点餐和饮料,无人机会把他们点的东西送到他们在长城上的位置,这样就去除了离开景点的需要,让他们完全沉浸在游览长城的体验中,不受干扰。故划线词意思是“去除”。故选D。
2.细节理解题。根据第三段““That’s where drones can help,” Yan Yan, public affairs director of Meituan’s drone business, told CCTV. “Through drones, we can make trips that take 50 minutes on foot in five minutes and deliver heat relief objects and emergency supplies to visitors.”(“这就是无人机能帮上忙的地方,”美团无人机业务公共事务总监闫燕在接受中央电视台采访时表示。“通过无人机,我们可以在5分钟内完成步行50分钟的行程,并为游客提供散热物品和应急物资。”)”可知,燕燕支持无人机送货。故选C。
3.细节理解题。根据第一段“Now, Meituan is even offering to deliver takeout to the Great Wall — dropped off not by a worker on an electric bike, but by a drone (无人机) sliding from the sky.(现在,美团甚至提供送外卖到长城的服务——不是由骑着电动自行车的工人送外卖,而是由一架从空中滑翔的无人机送外卖)”以及第二段“For the millions of tourists who visit the Great Wall each year, the drone delivery service offers a new level of convenience.(对于每年参观长城的数百万游客来说,无人机送货服务提供了一个新的便利水平)”可知,美团长城无人机送货服务的主要特点是方便、创新。故选A。
根据第四段“Once an order is received, a Meituan worker will pick it up from a nearby store and bring it to the hotel rooftop, where it will be weighed and packaged. An operator then ties the package to the drone, which will fly on autopilot to the watchtower, where another worker waits to receive it and hands it over to the customer.(一旦收到订单,美团的工作人员就会从附近的商店取货,送到酒店的屋顶,在那里称重和包装。然后一名操作人员将包裹绑在无人机上,无人机将自动飞行到瞭望塔,另一名工作人员等待接收并将其交给客户)”可知,第4段主要告诉我们无人机送货服务是如何进行的。故选B。

D.Improving early warning systems for extreme weather.

根据第一段“A new study predicts nearly 75% of us will face extreme weather in 20 years. “In the best case, we predict that rapid changes will affect 1.5 billion people,” says physicist Bjørn Samset from Norway. 6.推理判断题。根据第三段中“We’ve already lived through examples of these extremes.( 我们已经经历过这些极端的例子。)”以及“This global temperature increase has brought with it fatal fires, floods, storms, and droughts that are destroying crops and leading to increasingly widespread hunger, creating favorable conditions for the spread of more diseases as well. “Like people living in a war zone with the constant sounds of bombs and guns, we are becoming deaf to what should be alarm bells,” says climate scientist Jennifer Francis.( 全球气温的升高带来了致命的火灾、洪水、风暴和干旱,它们摧毁了庄稼,导致越来越广泛的饥饿,也为更多疾病的传播创造了有利条件。气候科学家珍妮弗·弗朗西斯说:“就像人们生活在不断听到炸弹和枪炮声的战区一样,我们对应该敲响的警钟越来越充耳不闻。”)”可推知,人们对极端天气充耳不闻是因为人们经历了太多的极端天气。故选C项。
7.推理判断题。根据最后一段中““These conclusions emphasize the need for both continued mitigation(缓解)and adaptation to potentially unexpected changes over the next 20 years even under a low-emissions condition,” writes Iles.( “这些结论强调,即使在低排放条件下,也需要在未来20年继续减缓和适应可能意想不到的变化,”Iles写道。)”
根据文章大意以及第一段“A new study predicts nearly 75% of us will face extreme weather in 20 years. “In the best case, we predict that rapid changes will affect 1.5 billion people,” says physicist Bjørn Samset from Norway. This lower estimate would only be reached by reducing greenhouse gas emissions(排放)in a large degree — something that is yet to occur.( 一项新的研究预测,近75%的人将在20年内面临极端天气。
