专题10 任务型阅读之回答问题(名校期末真题速递,20篇)
(23-24九年级上·江苏盐城·期末)读短文,回答下面问题,每题答案不超过6个单词。
Do you put up your hand when you want to speak in class? If so, you have followed a rule. Rules can be as simple as putting up your hand. They can also be as complicated (复杂的) as knowing when you are “out” in a game.
Rules can be made by anyone. Parents make rules to help children grow up healthily. Rules at home might include washing dishes or cleaning rooms.
Teachers make rules to help students learn and stay safe. Putting up your hand before asking a question helps the class pay attention to the lesson. Students make rules in games to make sure that they can play without fighting. Rules can be changed often. If you change your minds, you can change the rules.
Laws are rules too, but they are made differently. Laws are made by elected representatives (被选出的代表). Voters allow their representatives to make laws that can protect people’s rights, safety and make sure everyone can be treated fairly. Laws can’t be changed often, so representatives consider laws carefully before making new ones.
The biggest difference between rules and laws is the punishment for breaking them. If you break a rule, your punishment might be small, like losing a turn in a game. However, if a person breaks an important law, the punishment might be a fine or time in prison.
Rules and laws keep everyone safe. People can work and live together in peace by following rules and laws.
1.What might rules at home include according to the passage?
2.Who makes rules to help students learn and stay safe in paragraph 3?

4.What’s the biggest difference between rules and laws?
5.How can people live together in peace?
【答案】1.Rules at home might include washing dishes or cleaning rooms. 2.Teachers. 3.Because laws can’t be changed often. 4.The punishment for breaking them. 5.By following rules and laws.

The boat arrived at a small town, and Legree and his slaves (奴隶) got off. Tom and the other men walked all the way to the plantation.
They stopped in front of a house. It was large, but it looked empty and uncomfortable, the glass of some windows were broken and there were bits of wood and boxes on the ground. Two slaves, Sambo and Quimbo, were Legree’s two main helpers on the plantation, and they arrived with dogs.
“Don’t try to ran away,” said Legree to Tom and the others, “or the dogs will follow you.”
“Sambo,” said Legree, “take these new slaves down to the cabins.”
The slaves followed Sambo to the cabins. They were in a row, near the plantation and far from the house. Tom’s heart sank when he saw them. Each one had only one room, without any furniture.
They had to wait in line for their turn to cook a very poor meal. Then they all went to sleep on the floor in the cabins.
Every day, from early in the morning until late in the evening, under the hot sun, the slaves picked cotton. When they finished, Legree weighed it, and there was whipping (鞭打) for the slaves who didn’t pick enough cotton. Tom learnt to pick cotton quickly.
One day, Tom noticed an older slave Martha was in pain and slow. Her sack was almost empty. Tom went near Martha, and silently put a lot of his cotton into her sack.
“No, don’t!” said the woman, looking surprised. “They will punish you.”
Just then Sambo arrived, kicked Martha and whipped Tom across his face. Martha fell down. “Work faster, you animal!” But when he left, Tom quickly gave her some more of his cotton. Suddenly, the beautiful new woman put a large quantity of cotton in Tom’s sack.

(23-24九年级上·江苏盐城·期末)Gift giving is common. Over time, different cultures have developed their own gift-giving customs (习俗) and traditions.
In China, gifts are given for holidays, such as birthdays or special events like a dinner at a friend’s home.
While it’s true that a gift is just a gift, what is more important is the meaning behind the gift. In China, some gifts need to be avoided, including clocks, shoes, umbrellas, knives, anything in groups of four and anything in black or white.
Gift Wrapping (包装)
Chinese gifts can be wrapped with wrapping paper. Red is for luck. Pink is for happiness. Gold is for wealth. So wrapping paper in these colors is the best. White and black are the symbols of death and should not be used.
Red Envelopes(红包)
Wrapping money in a red envelope means good wishes. People usually give red envelopes to kids during Chinese New Year.
Whether a gift is given or not, greeting cards are often used for birthdays, Christmas, Father’s/Mother’s Day, weddings, and Easter. In America, common gifts are candies or toys for children, and chocolate, fine food, books, clothes and tools for adults.
After receiving a gift, people show thanks to the person by saying “Thank you so much.” or “This is too nice.” Hugs or kisses may be exchanged. Returning gifts is not a must, but thank-you cards are very common. And they should usually be sent out in the same week when the gifts are received.

(23-24九年级上·江苏扬州·期末)Deadly flooding has swept China’s central Henan Province. Hundreds of thousands of people have been influenced. Up to August 2, a total of 302 people have been killed and 50 have been missing. Like many other natural disasters, floods can happen with little to no warning. Flash floods move quickly and have strong currents (水流). They are known to bring down trees and destroy buildings. Besides, floods can cause power cuts, traffic jams and other problems. But, the flood itself isn’t the only problem to deal with. After a flood, its influence can be just as deadly, as it may not be possible to send basic supplies such as water and food to the area.
So, in the face of a flash flood, how should we save ourselves?
★Avoid bridges that rapidly-moving water is crossing, as floodwaters can cause bridges to break.
★Listen to emergency broadcasts (应急广播) for further instructions. If told to move to another place, do so.
★Stay inside the car if it’s caught in a fast-moving water. Only get out if the water begins to flood the car itself, and then move to the roof of the car.
★If caught within a flooded building, move to the highest floor. Only move to the roof if necessary. Once there, use signs for help, such as drawing SOS on the roof.
★ Stay away from power lines , as they are often destroyed or knocked down during strong storms.
Besides, here are also some tips to keep in mind after a flood. Do not drink floodwater, or use it to wash food. Return to your home only after local governments have said it is safe to do so. Use only bottled or boiled water for drinking, cooking and bathing. Avoid driving through flooded areas.

On Monday, Mrs. Bunch told her students that they would take a test about the main countries and capitals on Friday. Students should be able to fill in the countries’ names on a world map and know each country’s capital. Kevin and Matt both wanted to do well on the test, but they studied for the test in different ways.
Kevin waited until Thursday evening to begin studying. He thought he would be able to remember it better on Friday in this way. On Thursday evening, Kevin took his study notes into the living room so he could watch TV while studying. He read the list of the countries and capitals over and over again. Then he covered up the capitals and tried to remember what they were as he read each country’s name. When he felt he knew most of the capitals, he then took out his map and began studying where all the countries were. Since Kevin kept spending time on TV shows, he did not finish his study until very late.
Matt, on the other hand, worked in a different way. On Monday evening, he made a set of cards. On one side of the card, he wrote the name of the country and on the other side, he wrote the country’s capital. There was one card for each country. He then made several copies of the map of the world with the names of the countries erased (擦掉). Now he could practise writing the names. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Matt spent an hour after supper in his room studying his cards and practicing filling in his maps. On his way to school each day, Matt took his cards with him on the bus and practiced naming the capitals. He went to bed earlier on Thursday evening.

It was New Year’s Eve. In the morning, I heard Grandma tell Mum she needed a football for the New Year’s Eve dinner.
“A football for the dinner? What’s it for?” I wondered. “Anyway, I will get one! I can do something nice for Grandma.”
I remembered my friend Joe had an old football. I went out quietly and found him. I gave him my favourite model car in exchange for his football.
I took the football home, shined it and put it on the living room table secretly. I waited in my room for Grandma to notice it.
“Mike!” Mum shouted. I ran to the living room. “Why can’t you put your things where they belong? Get the football out of here!”
“But it’s for Grandma! She said she needed a football for the New Year’s Eve dinner.” I said.

During the past seven years, I visited countries that were in need of clean water. And I met some of the most inspiring (鼓舞人心的) people I’ve ever known.
By the time I reached my first village in Mozambique (莫桑比克), a small crowd had already gathered around the water point to meet me. These people were eager to talk about the difference clean water had made in their community.
At the front of the crowd, I met Natalia, a 15-year-old girl. Access to (获得) clean water enabled (使能够) her to have better health. She could spend more time in school. As a result, she became better educated than many of her fellow villagers.
I asked Natalia’s mother what she expected of her daughter’s future. “My dream is for Natalia to become a teacher,” she said proudly. Natalia happened to hear our conversation. And she turned around to say, “I don’t want to be just a teacher. I want to be the headteacher.”
Many people I met in Mozambique told me that water is life. Having access to clean water would immediately improve health. Healthier families would save money on hospital bills. Healthier kids would spend more time in school. Like Natalia, they would have bigger dreams as well as better opportunities.
Yet 748 million people on this planet don’t have access to clean water. Every morning, they stand in line in front of a muddy hole in the ground. They carry dirty water all the way home and serve it to the people they love most. They keep suffering from stomach pains.
You and I just got lucky to be born in places where we’ve never had to worry about finding clean water.

The Ghost wore a black robe. The robe covered its head, its face and its body. The only thing visible was a hand.
The Ghost neither spoke nor moved. Scrooge was terrified.
“Are you the Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come?” asked Scrooge. The Ghost didn’t answer, but it pointed its hand in front of it.
“You are going to show me the future,” Scrooge continued. “Am I right, Ghost?” The Ghost nodded its head. That was the only answer Scrooge received.
“Ghost of the Future,” he said, “I am more afraid of you than of all the other ghosts. But because I want to be a better man, I will go with you. Please, speak to me.”
It didn’t reply. The hand pointed straight in front of them. “Lead on!” said Scrooge.
The Ghost moved forwards. Scrooge followed in the shadow of its robe. And the robe carried him along. The city sprang up around them. There they were, in the heart of it. “Last night, I think. ”
“What was the matter with him?” asked a third. “God knows”, said the first, with a yawn.
“What has he done with his money?” asked a red-faced gentleman.
“I don’t know,” said the great fat man, yawning again. “He hasn’t left it to me. That’s all I know.” Everybody laughed.

Scrooge knew the men. And he looked towards the Ghost for an explanation. He didn’t understand why this conversation was important. But he knew it must be.

Dancer choreographer, painter and visual (视觉的) artist Shen Wei often looks to the past for ideas. His latest dance production called Dongpo: Life in Poems, turns to Chinese traditional culture and history once again to focus on Su Dongpo, a Song Dynasty (960—1279) poet, whose work is still celebrated in China today.
“As I learned about it, I became interested in the man and his work,” says Shen, who put all his other projects aside and spent nearly two years on this production.
Shen selected 15 of Su’s poems after reading around 2, 000 of them, and these became the base of the six acts. Each act touches on a different aspect of the poet’s life, including his painful experience of leaving his beloved wife. Famous lines were displayed onstage in calligraphic (书法的) form. Besides poems, Shen made use of Su Dongpo’s ink painting, Xiaoxiang Bamboo and Stone Picture, as well as his own paintings, in creating the stage set.
“The training Shen gave the dancers was unique because he has his own system. He didn’t tell us to perform with our bodies, but with our hearts.” says Su Peng, one of the lead dancers. “Like the production itself, which was a new and mind-opening visual and sound experience, the process of working with Shen was also very different and enjoyable.”
Dongpo: Life in Poems, first presented in Shanghai this July, was performed in Chengdu, Sichuan province, last weekend, and will be performed in Xi’an, Shaanxi province on Friday and Saturday.
Feedback (反馈) has been varied. Some theatergoers have been wowed by the production, saying that they had never seen anything like it before, while others have said that the production was challenging for them to understand. “I was prepared for the different reactions. I hope that people will be open-minded about art. It’s like listening to a bird singing or smelling the fragrance of flowers, a very personal experience.” Shen says.
“What I hope people gain from my work is a glimpse (一瞥) of the beauty of Chinese culture. Researching Su Dongpo and the Song Dynasty was like a process of decoding (破译) the past. I want the audience to do the same when they watch the production, and decode the information I put in it about Su.” The China Oriental Performing Arts Group plans to stage Dongpo: Life in Poems at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington DC next March. It is generally considered bad to tell a lie. But there is an exception-people from around the world come to northwestern England every November to compete for the title (称号) of the World’s Biggest Liar (说谎者).
The competition is held in honor of 19th-century Bridge Inn landlord (店主) will Ritson, who was famous for exaggerating (夸张) his experiences to tell exciting stories.
Competitors have just five minutes to tell the biggest lie they can think of, without using any tools or telling jokes.
Over the years, people have won the contest with different stories, like taking magical journeys to Scotland in rubbish bins that went under the sea.
A bishop (主教) reportedly told what may be the greatest lie ever in the competition. His story was just one sentence: “I have never told a lie in my life!” The most celebrated liar in the history of the competition is a British man named John Graham. Between 1994 and 2008 he won seven World’s Biggest Liar titles and is known as Johnny Liar.
In 2006, Sue Perkins became the first female to win the competition, telling a story about people riding camels to work as a result of climate change. In 2011, the first place went to Glen Boyland, who told a lie about competing in a snail-racing competition with Prince Charles.

(23-24九年级上·江苏南京·期末)A person who writes music is known as a composer. A composer thinks of a musical idea and writes it on paper for others to read. Instead of writing words, a composer uses musical notation (记号). Other people can read the notes and play them. When they do, they’re playing music that came from the composer’s imagination.
Beethoven was a famous German composer. He was born in 1770 in Bonn and began learning the piano when he was only four. He also learned to play the violin. Beethoven visited Vienna, which was a very musical city, in 1787.Two other famous composers lived in Vienna at that time. Beethoven made friends in Vienna and returned there in 1792.He studied music with Haydn and lived in Vienna for the rest of his life.
Beethoven was known as a great pianist, but he wanted to compose his own music. He always seemed to have musical ideas in his head. His notebooks show how hard he worked to get the music just right. He often wrote and then revised his music by scratching it out (勾划), so it is possible for us to see how he was thinking about the music.
During the late 1790s, Beethoven began to lose his hearing. At first it was difficult for him to hear people and talk with them. Even when he became completely deaf, he did not stop creating music, however. He heard music in his mind even though he couldn’t hear it with his ears.
Most people have heard of Beethoven’s Symphony (交响乐) No.5, but they may not know he wrote it when he was growing deaf. A symphony is a long piece of music for orchestra (交响乐团). It was very hot and unpleasant inside the fort. Jim had a plan and he needed to leave the fort. He took two pistols and left quietly when Gray and the squire were with the captain.
First he ran down to the white rocks and looked for Ben Gunn’s boat. He soon found it under some bushes. It was a simple boat, made out of branches and goat skins, and it was very light to carry. Jim decided to wait until it was dark and row to the Hispaniola. He wanted to cut the ship adrift, leaving it to float with the currents. As he waited, he could see the pirates’ fire burning, and out on the water the lights on the ship.
As soon as it was dark, Jim got into the boat and rowed out to the Hispaniola. He found the rope that connected the ship to the anchor and cut through it with his knife until the ship was free. As he did this, he could hear the angry voices of Israel Hands and another mutineer in a cabin above him.
The ship began to move away in the night air.
By then Jim was so tired that he fell asleep and dreamed of home. When he awoke, he found himself at the south-west end of Treasure Island. He was only about 300 metres from the shore. When he lay quietly in the bottom of the boat, it moved perfectly over the water. But as soon as he sat up, the boat went out of control. So he lay down, and used the paddle from that position. He moved slowly closer to the land, but the current was strong and the boat moved past the bay. Jim moved slowly to the next bay, and suddenly he saw the Hispaniola in front of him.

Face-to-face with a mother who doesn’t immediately praise every gift, my children have learned to be very careful in choosing gifts. But a couple of weeks ago, they came together to give me a gift that really blew me away.
For years now, I’ve been wanting to sell our house where my children grew up. But there are the funny little love hearts they drew just near their beds. The attic (阁楼) is full of the old clothes they couldn’t wear. The high shelves still have lots of novels for children, like The Night Before Christmas and The Muddle-Headed Wombat.
But those are not the reasons for being sad about leaving this house. There is much more to tie me to the home where I brought up our kids. In the front room, there is a wall. On that wall are hundreds of pencil marks, names and dates. They recorded the way the children grew.
Of all the objects, all the memories, it’s this one place in our home that makes it hard for me to leave. Over dinner, over the years, I’ve talked about how much I would hate leaving that wall, even though the last marks were made ten years ago when my kids stopped growing. So one day, while I was at work, my children decided to do something about the wall. Here was a chance to remove the last traces (痕迹) of their babyhood, but they didn’t do that. Instead, they hired Jack, a professional photographer, to come to our house to take photos of the pencil marks, names and dates and then changed them into one photo.
At last the gift made its way to me, one meaningful photo. Representing love and growth, it’s a gift that I will cherish forever.

The 1st Student (Youth) Games held its rock climbing competition from Nov. 8 to 11. The host Guangxi became the biggest winner in climbing, winning three golds, three silvers and one bronze (铜牌). All the medalists were from Mashan county in Nanning.
Mashan county was once poor because of its mountainous environment. But it has given the local climbers an advantage. Many students climb mountains and trees from an early age, building strong physical fitness. Among them is 15-year-old Huang Xinyi, who won the women’s speed climbing championship.
In 2017, the first “rock climbing characteristic town” in China was set up in Mashan county. “To bring the sport closer to more students, 23 primary and middle schools in the county have climbing spaces, and each school has one rock climbing class each week,” Huang Xujin, head of Mashan county’s Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Sports and Tourism, told Teens. “A group of professional climbers, including coaches from the national climbing team and excellent climbing athletes, have been hired to guide athletes in the school,” he added.
Huang Xinyi used to love climbing tees. When she was in the 5th grade of primary school, she became interested in rock climbing and decided to take part. At school, she usually trains from 6:30 to 9:00 in the evening.
For her, climbing is a window to a wider world. “Because of climbing, I stepped out of the mountains for the first time. Competing with climbers across the country helps me become a better athlete. I hope I can achieve even greater results in more countries,” she told Teens.
Mashan county has also set up a special educational pathway (路径) for children with skills in rock climbing. “Students with good rock climbing skills can directly enter the best middle school in the county,” Huang Xujin said.
1.How many medals did Guangxi win in the rock climbing competition?
2.What advantage does the mountainous environment give many students?

3.Why do representatives consider laws carefully before making new ones?
4.What’s the biggest difference between rules and laws?
5.How can people live together in peace?

One day, 50 people were attending a speech. The speaker was delivering a speech about happiness. However, after a few hours, people gradually lost their attention. The speaker came up with an idea. He stopped his speech and asked all of the people to join in a group activity.
He gave a single balloon to each person in the room. Each person was asked to write his or her name on the balloon with a black marker pen. Then, all of the balloons were collected and moved to another room.
The 50 people were then let into the room and told to find the balloon that had their name written on it. Everyone rushed around, wildly searching for their balloon. People were bumping into and tripping (绊倒) over each other.
But even after five minutes of searching, no one could find their own balloon.
After seeing this, the speaker asked each person to collect a balloon and try to find the person whose name was written on it. Everyone started talking to each other and asking each other for their name. Within minutes, everyone had his or her own balloon.
“Can you see what happened?” the speaker said. “The balloons are like the happiness we seek in our own lives. Everyone is busy looking for their own happiness, not caring what happens to others. But sometimes the best way to find happiness is to help others. Help them find happiness and you can find your own.”

In America, gifts are usually opened at the end of an event or a birthday party, except for the wedding. Gifts are never opened during a wedding. They can be opened only after all the guests have left.

When the boys arrived at school on Friday, they joined their classmates and prepared to take the big test. As Mrs. Bunch handed out the test, they both began to work very hard.

“A football for the dinner?” Mum laughed. “No, Grandma needs a fruit bowl, not a football.”
“Fruit bowl sounds like football! I have done a silly thing!” I went back to my room, embarrassed and disappointed.
Before dinner, Mum came in and asked me to meet my uncles and aunts. When I walked into the living room, Grandma was showing them a pretty fruit bowl with the old football in its centre, I was surprised.

1.Where did the writer go during the past seven years?
2.What were the people around the water point in the Mozambican village talking about?
3.How did access to clean water change Natalia’s life?
4.Why do some people suffer from stomach pains?

The Ghost stopped beside some businessmen at the Stock Exchange. His hand was pointing to them, so Scrooge listened to their conversation.
“I only know he’s dead,” said a great fat man. “When did he die?” asked another.
“It will be a very small funeral,” said the great fat man. “I don’t think anybody will go to it.”
Scrooge knew the men. And he looked towards the Ghost for an explanation. He didn’t understand why this conversation was important. But he knew it must be.
Scrooge looked around the place. He looked at the clock. It was strange. He was usually there at this time but he couldn’t see himself.

Dancers from Shen Wei Dance Arts will also participate (参与).
1.Where did Shen Wei get the idea for his latest work focused on Su Dongpo?
2.How long did Shen Wei spend on this new production?
3.How many cities have the new production been performed in by the time the article is written?
4.Do people have the same feedback after watching the production?
5.Why does Shen Wei want people to gain a glimpse (一瞥) of the beauty of Chinese culture from this work?

Politicians (政客) and lawyers are not allowed to take part in the competition, as they are considered to have an unfair advantage.
1.Who was the first female to win the competition?
2.Why can’t politicians and lawyers join in the competition?
3.What do you think of this competition? Why?

Wolfgang Mozart and Joseph Haydn met Beethoven and gave his music high praise.
Symphony No.5 starts like this: ta-ta-ta-TUM. Beethoven used this pattern over and over in his symphony. Try saying it aloud two times: ta-ta-ta-TUM, ta-ta-ta-TUM.
1.When did Beethoven start learning music?
2.Which city influenced Beethoven most in his musical career?
3.What is Beethoven known as?
4.During the late 1790s,what difficulty did Beethoven face?
5.Why did Beethoven make greater achievements after losing his hearing?
(23-24九年级上·江苏徐州·期末)When asked who invented the telephone, most people say it was Alexandre Graham Bell. However, in 2002 the US Congress agreed that the true inventor was an unknown Italian inventor, who died in poverty in New York. And his name is Antonio Meucci.
Antonio Meucci was born in Florence in 1808. In the 1830s, he got into trouble with the rulers for his political views. After a period in prison, he decided to move to Cuba. There he continued working on his inventions. He discovered that sounds could travel through wires. In 1850, Meucci moved to the US, where he thought he would have more chances to develop his ideas. When his wife became ill, he developed a simple telephone system so that she could “phone” him from her bed while he was working. Around 1860, he showed his last invention, but because he didn’t speak English well, few people were interested. Then in 1870, he became ill himself and had to sell his plans to pay for doctors. Meanwhile, another inventor, Alexandre Graham Bell was working on a similar idea and the rest is history...

1.When did the mother get the surprising gift?
2.What is the attic filled with?
3.Why are the marks on the wall so important to the mother?
4.How did Jack make the traces on the wall into a gift?
5.Do you like this kind of gift? Why or why not?

3.Who has been hired to guide school athletes in Mashan county?
4.When did Huang Xinyi become interested in rock climbing?
5.Do you hope your school can give rock climbing classes? Why?
