①Zibo city in Shandong has unexpectedly become famous since late February for its barbecue, and this continues as the government takes the chance to promote (推广) tourism and spending in this city.
②The latest promotion gives visitors chances to visit 10 places of interest in the city for free with their train tickets as long as their final stop is Zibo. The Jinan China Railway added a weekend special round-trip “barbecue tour” train between Jinan and Zibo. Passengers who get on the train are greeted by a notice reading “Welcome to the Special BBQ Train”. Many also took videos and put them online, drawing more visitors.
③Barbecue is popular in China, but Zibo’s barbecue is different: it’s made on a stove (炉子), and is served with pancakes and dressings (调料). The food is 70—80% cooked before it is brought to the table, where diners can finish cooking it on their own stoves. Diners are served with pancakes and other dressings at the table so they are able to put dressings and other ingredients in the pancake, in the same way Beijing Duck is eaten.
④The barbecue suddenly became famous after a group of college students shot videos of themselves enjoying a meal in Zibo and put them online in late February. Since then, many people, mostly young, have come to the city from all over the country to try the dish. On several streets, lines can be seen outside barbecue restaurants, which stretch (延伸) for more than 100 meters on the weekend.
⑤“Zibo barbecue is bringing more and more people to the city, and the government needs to think about how to promote the city as a whole, its culture and tourism, as well as its living and business environment.” said Sun Xiaorong, an expert of tourism marketing and promotion. The trend (趋势) will finally end if the government doesn’t take proper follow-up actions, he added.

(23-24九年级上·江苏泰州·期末)Guangfulin Relics Park (广富林遗址公园) is about four kilometers away from Sheshan Hill. It’s a window into the history of Shanghai.
In 1958, while digging a new waterway, some local farmers found several pieces of ancient pottery (陶器). In 1961, archaeologists (考古学家) began a serious study there. They discovered a large number of pottery items, spinning wheels, dishes and knives. They also discovered two tombs (坟墓). These discoveries proved that there is a 4,000-year-old culture here. The relics park was built right on this historical place.
The park includes a farmland protection area, a cultural area and a Chinese-style water town. Rice, corn, sunflowers, pears and peaches are grown in the farmland protection area. The water town provides a perfect place for tourists to stay the night and have a rest.
The cultural area is the most important part of the park. It is made up of ten museums and memorial halls. The most popular one is the Guangfulin Cultural Museum. It’s built underwater with its roofs (屋顶) on the surface.

(2024·江苏镇江·中考真题)I have lived in China for six years, but still think the country is mysterious. So I made up my mind to go on a 3-month cycling journey to discover more.
My cycling journey was very safe in China because I never had a moment in which I felt I was in danger. Wherever I went, there was always phone signal, and even WeChat pay.
The beauty of nature was also fantastic. It simply took my breath away when I cycled on the way. With thick forests, blue lakes and green hills, there was so much to see.
The food was another highlight of my journey. I got to taste local food in every place I went. My favourite was the spicy food in Sichuan. No matter how much I ate, I never got sick of having different Chinese foods. There were so many different choices.
In addition, cycling in China cost less than I thought. I could even save some money during the trip to support a local charity.
The best part was about people. I met people from different ethnic minorities (少数民族) across China and I was even invited to attend a wedding by Tibetan girls. The wedding was amazing, full of dancing, laughter and fun. One time I me t a group of Chinese men who were also travelling, but by motorcycle. They invited me to stay with them in the mountains. We cooked fish that we caught from the lake together. It felt like true freedom from the busy feeling of daily life. Another example was impressive. When I met a group of cyclists in their 60s, they cycled better than me. It really encouraged me to push myself and go farther every day. Also, an experienced cyclist saved me when I got a flat tire (爆胎). He helped fix my tire.
By the end of my journey, I wanted to keep going. I felt like I could do it forever. It was truly an experience I will never forget. If anyone wants to explore in China, I would highly recommend going by bicycle.

Last year, I took a trip to Dunhuang with some friends.
After we left our hotel, we stepped out into a sandstorm that morning. Luckily, many of our group were well-prepared with face masks and caps. I, on the other hand, was not as equipped(配备). I should have learned about the conditions there better.

(20-21九年级上·广东深圳·期末)Large cities are great places to live. They have the nicest schools, biggest companies and best hospitals. However, they are too crowded to be suitable to live in, as people who grew up elsewhere often move to large cities for school or work.
But Tokyo, the capital of Japan, is thinking about paying people to leave the city. It’s planning to offer 3 million yen (175,000 yuan) to every resident who decides to move and find work elsewhere.
This is because the city is getting too crowded. Tokyo has a total population of 38 million. The number of people moving to the area has been greater than the number of people who leave for the last 22 years. About one out of every three people in Japan lives in Tokyo.
This has put a lot of pressure on transportation, hospitals and other public services. In addition, there has been a population drop in other parts of Japan. These places see their best people leave, never to return. For example, villages and towns in the countryside are mainly made up of elderly residents these days. Schools are closing and there are no young people left to work on farms.
For many years, Japan’s government has tried to move people away from the capital and help rebuild the countryside. This is part of a program called “revitalization (复兴) of regions”. Some local governments have used tax cuts to encourage companies to leave Tokyo.
Many large cities across the world have tried to control population growth. For example, Beijing is moving some of its wholesale markets and factories to Hebei province and the city of Tianjin. This allowed its population to fall for the first time in 17 years in 2017. By the end of last year, Beijing’s regular resident population was 21.7 million, 2000 less than in 2016.
1.According to the passage, what will people in Tokyo be encouraged to do?
A.To work harder. B.To go to school. C.To buy houses. D.To move to other cities.
2.According to the passage, why do big cities become unsuitable to live in?
A.Because things become too expensive. B.Because it’s hard to find a good job.
C.Because it’s too crowded. D.Because the air is polluted.
3.What can we learn from the passage?
A.There has been a population drop in Tokyo. B.Elderly people enjoy working on farms.
C.Young people like to move to big cities. D.There is a population of 21.7 million people in Tokyo.
4.What is the tone of the writer?
A.Objective. B.Humorous. C.Excited. D.Relaxed.

This was the low-point of the trip, but reparation(补偿) was made that evening with a trip to an amazing cultural show called “Silk Road”. This was a more interesting take on the Silk Road’s history, using dance and song to show the vivid cultural traditions and artistic legacies of Dunhuang and the Silk Road. It was a fully interesting evening.
The next day’s visit to the Mogao Caves was certainly the highlight of the trip. From the outside, they look perfectly common. But upon entering the dry, cool caves, it’s as though you’ve been taken to another world: it’s a great place of ancient artwork with 45, 000 square meters of murals(壁画) and statues, making it the world’s largest collection of Buddhist(佛教的) art. Many of the pink-coloured paints have turned black. Our guide said, “The painters spent much of their lives painting in the near-dark, guided only by rays of natural light and dull oil lamps, and as such, most went blind.”
